This hotel was great.
The food was brilliant. Loads of it and good quality. Excellent breakfast bar (hot and cold food), Cakes and past from 3.30pm to 5pm, 4 course dinner. Alcoholic Drinks were reasonably priced too. All the staff are pleasant, and most were trying out their school-days English by the end of the week.
The free ski buses for Ski Amande leave from across the road, and there's a heated ski boot and ski rack with it's own entrance / exit to make life easy. 3 Ski-schools and 3 ski lifts within 10 minutes walk (in ski boots). It's centrally situated in Flachau so there are decent local bars for apres-ski within walking distance, and a SPAR supermarket.
The rooms are great, with no noise issues from inside or outside. Modern bathrooms boast hairdryer and a good shower, even on the 4th (top) floor. Relaxing in the Spa and sauna (which is really clean and has free tea making facilities) or in the swimming pool was great after a day in the mountains.

The staff at the Tauernhoff are fantastic and could not do enough to make our stay very enjoyable.
The hotel is in my opinion the definition of perfection, with its heated ski boot racks, indoor pool and superb food and great views of the village and the glacier.
It is ideal for beginners as the meeting point for ski school and the nursery slopes are at the rear of the hotel.
Even during the mild winter we had this year there was still amazing skiing to be had on the glacier.
This is the perfect destination for anyone wanting good skiing in the day and pampering at night.

Excellent hotel. We were complete ski beginners and could not have picked a better location as the rear of the hotel looks directly onto the ski school area and beginners slopes.
The ski school itself has lunch at the hotel. We stayed in a family suite, which was VERY spacious and comfortable. The room was modern, clean and what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. The rest of the hotel is also of the same standard and the staff very friendly. There is also a ski storage area within the hotel itself. The half board 4 course meals were also excellent and never disappointed. The swimming pool area was never crowded.
The front of the hotel looks onto the main street and is in a very good central location, just a couple of minutes walk from bars etc. There is not a lot of traffic in the village itself. The only reason I have not given the hotel a 10 is the fact that luggage prior to departure has to be stored in a downstairs room to which there is no lift.
The resort of Kaprun itself is a beautiful place with stunning views of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. It has all the facilities you need and is very friendly for all types.
The ski bus is included free with the lift passes and the journey to the top of the Kitzsteinhorn via gondola is stunning. The ski school itself is of a high standard. Also worth bearing in mind is that this resort is very close to Zell Am See for additional skiing, bus free on same lift pass. For none skiers it is a cheap bus ride away for extra shopping /facilities etc.
The prices charged in bars etc. are very reasonable and from what I have heard from associates who have been to France, Switzerland/Scandinavian countries etc. it appears excellent value for money.
Overall I could not fault the hotel or the resort and I would quite happily go back for more of the same!
