San Jaime Complex Reviews

The San Jaime complex is brilliant!
It is situated in what I would say is the nicest part of the Island, of which I have seen most of it. The restaurants, bars etc are all run by locals, unlike the Cuidadela end resorts which are generally run by the 'British'. Personally I do not go on holiday to go to British run places!
I have been going to the San Jaime complex for 12 years, and still love it. The staff there are very friendly and welcoming, always remembering us each year.
Every evening there is a 'show' on, ranging from tribute groups, to magic shows. These vary in quality, however the bad ones are normally so funny you can laugh at them!!!
This complex is particularly great for families but hey I have no kids yet love it! There is also a maze and waterslides on the complex and these are accessible for a small cost
If your looking for a buzzing nightlife, this is not the place for you. It has some lively bars and a couple of discos, but if your wanting a chilled beach holiday- well this is for you!
San Jaime Complex is such a sweet place. I’ve been going there for the last 4 years and hope to be going again next year.
It’s a really lovely place and the local people and Majorcans really make you feel welcome. We always go to the best restaurant 'Las Dunas' they always recognise us and our pleased to see us every year.
The beach I would say is the nicest in Menorca with its lovely golden sand and crystal clear water, its nice to walk along as its the longest beach in Menorca. Hiring a car and going round the island is highly recommended.
Checking out Bou Hai the Hawaiian bar in son bou is good, the cocktails are gorgeous for only e7.50, watching the waiters on roller skates is a laugh.
It really is a lovely place and I would recommend it to anyone.

If you’re the sort of person that loves travelling to Spain and spending your time eating nothing but English food. Staying within the complex walls all week, drinking beer from 10am round the pool whilst your kids run riot and you immerse yourself in poolside conversation with similar obese Scousers dressed in shell suits (yes, they actually still do). Who brag about how they ‘bought their house for £25,000 and now it’s worth £125,000’, then you’ll love the San Jaime apartments in Son Bou, Menorca.
Join in the fun watching the obese peroxide scouse woman (who’s husband still sports his ‘calm down’ scouse mullet haircut circa 1985). Place her St George Cross beach towels on the sunbeds at 1am on their way home from the bar, leaving them unavailable all day to anyone else, then turning up at 4pm to take their ‘reserved’ places !
Enjoy the novelty of having a toothless tattooed Geordie neighbour (wearing a full Newcastle kit every day) living in the apartment above you for a week. He drinks all day from 10am, gets back at 1am then drunkenly and re-arranges the sofa beds for the kids in under an hour !!!....how we laughed every night.
Why bother eating any of the famous Minorca fish dishes when you can have egg & chips or Sunday roast every day?
Or how about bingo by the pool at 9:30 on a Tuesday night for a bottle of 5 Euro Cava? Laugh out loud, as the Spanish bingo caller even joins in with the Carry On humour, picking out number 69 !! "Jai no understand why 69 ees so fanny, pliz someone tell me?"
Alternatively, why not take in a show? No need to leave the poolside bar though ! Just stay and enjoy the fabulous northern club acts that even surpass the quality shown on Phoenix Nights (by the way, that’s a comedy show, not a docu-soap)
Yes, if you’re a small-minded, stereotypical ignorant northerner who loves the company of similar people, the San Jaime is right up your street. You make us all so proud to be British when we go abroad !
In fact, why go to Spain at all? Just wait for good weather in Britain and pack yourselves off to Blackpool.

A great relaxed place on the biosphere reserve of Menorca. Enjoy the quiet morning walks on the gently sloping beach, the children will love the variety of pools and the open plan there, with little traffic too. The locals are friendly, try the small coffee and cake bar on the shopping parade too. Far end of the long beach has some revealing sites too!
Very narrow comments on Northerners by one review here, we know how to relax, take in the ambience and gentle pace. There is a wonderful selection of 'Fruit de mer' at Mahon harbour side. Car hire is inexpensive and its easy to find your way up and down the island if you choose.
Son Bou has the finest beach on the island, a marvellous little train which runs up and down the complex.
Scousers have the most noted GSOH and generosity too, as well as Geordies and other's too. To the guy with the strange review here, try looking for the good in others and yes, you will find it.
If you visit, enjoy, you will return there.
" I was interested to read the review... "

I was interested to read the review written by 'Another Reviewer' on these apartments and his comments on Northerners and Scousers in particular. I live in North Yorkshire and went with my husband and with friends from Guildford to this complex last year. We are all business professionals, highly intelligent, enjoy good food, good wine and good company.

It is obvious from his in depth knowledge of the complex that he too spent most of his time on the complex. We hired a car - saw the wonderful St Joan celebrations with over a hundred beautiful horses parading the streets, breakfasted by the harbour in Furnells and found unspoilt coves with hardly any people and snorkelled in crystal waters every day.

We are in our fifties, great party animals but recognise everyone’s right to enjoy their holiday in their own way. Meeting different people from different walks of life is one of the most pleasurable parts of a holiday.

When 'Another Reviewer' pays for someone else’s holiday - then perhaps he would have the right to tell them how to behave, what to eat, how to dress and entertain themselves.

We saw two acts on the complex - one Beatles reborn group (who were actually very good) and a group of Spanish Dancers, who were superb. Everyone got involved, young and old alike and at the end of the day isn’t that what holidays about - having a good time - however you see it?

Get a life 'Another Reviewer' - a snob such as you should go to an isolated desert island. These are cheap holidays for families for goodness sake - did you expect to meet the Beckham’s.

Geordies and Scousers (apart from Yorkies that is) are some of the friendliest, most generous people on the planet and it is a great pity that you cannot look at people from the inside out when you are on holiday at not the other way round.
The apartment was comfortable but by no means luxurious and would benefit from modernising.
Ants and flies were in abundance throughout the complex and had to be tackled with heavy duty sprays!!!
Son Bou beach is one of the best on the island but be prepared for the nudist factor which we were unaware of.
Car hire was essential as the resort offers very little apart from the beach and local bus service was limited. Getting around the island was no problem by car as all roads very quiet.
The weather was superb which made our holiday as we were able to sit out on balcony every evening watching sunset over the sea.
Returning to Menorca next year but have selected a more lively resort and going slightly earlier.
