Malcesine Hotel Reviews
" Just returned from a week in the... "

Just returned from a week in the hotel Malcesine annexe - our choice because it guaranteed a balcony at no extra price.
The balcony views in the main building were nonexistent because of trees as were our views although the trees help with shade! - 35degrees - split level rooms are on 2 floors in the roof of main building, very hot!! No air con anywhere!!
You can’t sleep before 11.30pm because of 2 local (25 yards )bars that play excessively loud live music on alternate nights also you are woken up at 5.30 am by...
1. Night porter cleaning patio
2.deliveries
3.road sweeper
4. Very noisy (all night) plumbing in annexe.
The food was mediocre but the staff were friendly & very helpful.
The central lakeside situation was excellent. Only stay here if you get a really cheap deal!

The meals were dreadful. We had booked the holiday in March and paid the full brochure price, but when we arrived we were put into an extremely shabby looking annexe and discovered that other guests who had booked 'late deals' had paid £200 per head less than us and the ones we spoke to were all going to complain to their tour operator.
The entrance to the annexe was unlit and on either side of it was a dilapidated storeroom and a very dirty looking staff changing room.
The breakfasts were okay but the evening meal one evening consisted of some lettuce, peas, sweet corn, and very little tuna which looked as though it had been sitting in olive oil all day! We ended up having most of our meals elsewhere.
Malcesine is a really beautiful place and the hotel is situated in a prime site on the edge of the Lake but in our opinion it should certainly not be graded ***. We have lodged a complaint with the tour operator.
