Torre Vella Apartments

Upon arriving at the Torrevella Apartamentos my husband moaned that we were in the middle of nowhere. He is a glass half empty person after all. The apartments are up a steep hill.Nothing but a restaurant, pool and houses around. what a restaurant it is though! Max runs the restaurant with style, humour and grace. We were made so welcome. The food was fantastic. The apartment was basic but pretty much what we are used to as dedicated self catering fans. Certainly excellent value for money. At the bottom of the hill is a large supermarket. The climb back up is daunting if you are not used to hills. Most people would want a car but we like to walk. We were half-way between Estartit and Torroella. Each about a two mile walk in either direction. We walked it every day. The local taxi services were excellent too. In particular Taxi Alex. Estartit is lovely. It is hard to find a bad restaurant there. Nice shops, clean and friendly. Prices of meals and drinks are reasonable. My husband went from hating the place at first view to wanting to go back again with friends. One of the nicest places we've been in Spain. Classy and low key, very family orientated. Much for people of all ages. Loved it.
