Just returned from 2 weeks at the Daystar. 7 family members went with ages ranging from 24 to 60. Mostly families there but there were a few couples. The rooms were basic but clean. The maids cleaned the room, made the beds & emptied the bins EVERY day. In the bar,Harry,... more

Booked this last minute on the cheap so didnt expect it to be the best. On the whole it was a great holiday but there are many improvements needed. The location is nice, in the old village, approx ten minute walk to centre but if you want to be central its not for you. We... more

DayStar apartments are in a pretty and quiet part of Icmeler. There are a few little shops around about and you can walk into an old village. The beach and the centre of town is roughly a ten minute walk, and you can easily get the bus to Marmaris. I stayed at the DayStar... more

Excellent Location
After reading the reviews my friend and I were a bit nervous however when we got there we were surprised. The rooms are basic but were cleaned and beds made every day. Shops, restaurants and the beach are a short walk away. Lisa and Mesut run the pool side bar, they are very friendly and the food there is good. James, Yasin and Jay Jay also work there, they are all super friendly and a good laugh and they all contributed to make our holiday a good one. The appartments are in a very good location with fantastic views. I would definately stay there again.
paradise
What a great holiday and what a great place to stay in this little corner of paradise , we were in a studio and the view from there was stunning , the room was spotless and the apartments were very clean , the food was very good and cheap enough to buy the staff cant do enough for you lisa, mesut & james ( 007) Ali JJ all very helpfull and friendly , i doubt you will see a better apartment pool in the area its fab and situtated in a sun trap . The bar provides Sattelite TV big screen and a friendly welcome , while we we there my wife fell in town and broke her wrist what followed was a stressfull time for us as my wife was admitted to hospital and had an op , be warned never travel to turkey without insurance we had it and the admin staff at the hospital still made life very difficult for us , without the support of the staff at the daystar i dont think we would have coped through what was a very stressfull time for us , so a BIG THANKYOU TO YOU ALL . These apartments are ideal for couples and younger people alike 10 min walk into town we highly recommend these apartments you will be pushed to find better go book it you wont regret it
We had a budget holiday with 5 star treatment.
We stayed at Club Daystar on a cheapie deal and from other reviews were not expecting too much...but were we surprised!! We had an excellent holiday. First off we found we had booked a top floor studio, which was nice enough but my wife couldnt manage the stairs...no problem to Masut, he sorted something with Zanep the lovely receptionist and we were given a ground floor apartment at no extra cost. Brilliant. Nothing was to much trouble. The restaurant was excellent, this is run by Masut and the lovely Lisa, this is new management for this season and they do everything possible to keep every one happy. We enjoyed the food so much we ate there every night. No problems and no tummy upsets. Any thing we wanted we got. Can`t say more than that. Just give them the chance. The room was cleaned regularly and towels/bedding changed regularly too.The maids used to decorate the bed and towels with flowers to try and make things a little special. The pool was spotless, no charges for mattresses on sunbeds(unlike most places). James the number one barman catered to all liquid refreshments at the pool without us having to go to the bar. There was a large pool table guests could use free of charge, there was internet access on Lisa`s laptop free of charge. For a budget holiday we got five star treatment.
Fantastic staff, fantastic hotel...cant wait to go back!!
Lisa and Mesut are brilliant managers of this vibrant and roomy hotel! Set in the old town but only 6 mins pleasant walk to the centre of the town and only 8 mins from the beach! It gives you a great mix of culture and modern day necessities! Nice decent sized, clean apartments with balconies overlooking a large family pool and small baby pool. The chef is fantastic and cooks the most amazing food!!! I cant wait to go back! Really is value for money and a wonderful atmosphere! The best of both worlds.
CLUB DAYSTAR IS EXCELLENT
Me and my husband have just come back from a weeks holiday at Club Daystar. It was absolutley brilliant there was nothing to compain about. THe satff are all really friendly. The bar and restaraunt are run by Mesut & Lisa who are a great couple who made us feel really welcome, their barman James aws also brill. We had so much fun and would definatley go back again. THe hotel rooms where basic but very clean and the beds where made every day as well as a bin change the bedding & towels where changed twice on our stay. I cannot fault Club Daystar and we will be going back at some point.
terrible accommodation
My partner and I stayed at daystar apartments Icmeler from 25 Sep - 9 Oct 2008. First night apartment was soaking wet due to heavy rain seeping through balcony sliding doors!!. My friend unbeknown to her slipped on the floor covered with rainwater.Next morning went to reception to complain about this incident and also that we had no Hot Water for showering and washing dishes, also no sink plugs to hold water and shower curtains were FILTHY with Black Mildew. Tried to make contact with REP. but was not available-reception then offered us another apartment which was slightly better but again, with no Hot Water,no sink plugs and Filthy Black mildewed shower curtains, reception didn't know what sink plugs were!! Hassled nearly every day for basic amenities HOT WATER etc; which was only switched on for a few hours each day to cover the needs of 35 apartments!!When Rep. did arrive and was told about everything we had endured he was not particularly interested and stated "All BRITS complain about TRIVIAL things! We had other holidaymakers from Holland,Sweden,Britain and elsewhere staying there and had all complained about LACK of basic amenities and unclean accommodation. The Rep. said that Turkey was not up to standard of other Western European Countries with which we heartily agreed! Some clients packed their bags and left for better accommodation.(Not Surprised). If anyone is contemplating staying at Daystar Apartments DON'T.
didnt want to leave
would like to thank all staff for lovely 2 weeks my three kids were heartbroken to leave. The accommodation isn't the best we've stayed in but it is'nt down to the staff could just do with a revamp . The hospitality by the turkish people couldn't be faulted, they took my seventeen year old son under their wing and made sure he had a great time as he felt a bit too old to be on his hols with his mum, we loved you guys.will be back next year, hopefully to the same staff!.To anyone wanting to go if you're snooty don't bother if you want a good time book today ps. they won't throw you in the pool if you can't swim. Hasan ,alex, tommy, memo, james ,daniel and all the staff thankyou again love from louise and her three children david ,katy and andrew xxx
Going back next year!
Had a fantastic holiday at these apartments! The apartments are basic but it really is the staff that make the daystar apartments so great! Teddy, Freedom, Ozzy, Ali & Atilla made this a very very enjoyable holiday, very entertaining and willing to help with anything! None of us wanted to leave we may even book another week up for August. Dagenham Essex
Basic but good
We were moved to Club Daystar as the apartments we had booked were found to be closed for the winter when we arrived! The apartment complex has basic 1 bedroom apartments a good sized pool with plenty of sunbeds and a decent enough bar. The apartments and complex were kept very clean. The staff were very good and made our stay very enjoyable. The week we were there was late in the season and we would have prefered it to be a bit busier. The apartments are in a pretty good location and close enough to the centre for us to walk (10 mins) into the main part of the resort with our 5 year old daughter (she didn't always walk back prefering to have a piggy back...) The resort is filled with really good restaurants with exceptionally friendly staff. Would definitely recommend Titanic, The Lighthouse, The Baron, and The Love Boat (although a bit more expensive but with food to match the price) Overall a good week in the sun.
Awful at the Club Daystar
Just got back from a 2 week stay at Club Daystar and would never set foot in the place again. Seven of us stayed in one apartment and one studio, we arrived at 7am and the rooms were filthy. Boths rooms had no clean towels one of the bed sheets had blood on it a lot of the bed sheets were full of holes and rips and my son did not even have a bed to sleep in. The staff were an absolute nightmare every night hassling us because we refused to eat at the filthy poolside restaurant. They continually annoyed sunbathers by dowsing them in freezing cold water whilst trying to enjoy the sun. They pushed people and young children in the pool whether the children could swim or not. Several guests were charged differing rates for air conditioning, with the most expensive being £60 for 10 days. We did not have any hot water for 12 days, and most times when we showered the water ran out. One lady staying absolutely exploded about the cold water and what do you know the next morning every apartment had hot water. We did not have clean towels for 6 days and only got fresh ones when we asked the management. Most of the towels we received were like rags and only worthy of mopping up the bathroom floor after a shower. I saw a maid dragging clean sheets up the six flights of stairs to put on people's beds, she did not even attempt to pick them up when she saw me passing by, we also saw her wiping her sweaty face on the bed sheets. Music was booming out every night until at least 2am - it was not even decent music was usually Wigfield and the Oaky Coaky or the Birdy Dance. Staff slept on mattresses at the back of the apartments or on the sun beds by the pools and were laughing and joking until 4am most nights. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone, and would certainly not return there. Icmeler is a beautiful place and the Turkish Baths and Dalyan trip to the mud baths and Turtle beach are definately a must. We ate most nights at Guys and Dolls on the main road to Icmeler Centre. Atilla, Mehmet, Jay and Fartie were excellent and the food was absolutely fabulous. Thank god we only used the Daystar as a place to sleep.
