Sunway Hotel

Went to the Sunway hotel with 2 friends this August. It is classed as a 4 star hotel, which I would say more like a 2/3 star hotel, however the hotel is very clean, all staff are friendly, food etc is fine for all inclusive, we ate out a couple of nights just for a change. There was some entertainment at nights too. It is in the perfect location only 2 mins walk to the beach which the sunbeds there are free to use and only 5 minutes to the main shops and bars of Gumbet. I would recommend this holiday to people who have a limited budget for all inclusive holidays was worth the money we paid.

i loved my 2week stay at the sunway i went for my 19th birthday with my mum and boyfriend and i had previusly been the year befor for my 18th all i can say is i read a lot of bad reveiws before i went which put me off but when i got there i loved it only thing i would complain about is breakfast i got a bit bored of watermelon but its good if u like contenental the maids were brilliant we got swans flowers and loads of other designs with the towels the guy on receptionist is sound and if u take ur music up to the pool guys they will play it my mum enjoyed layin by the pool and me and my boyfriend went off and did our own thing its a stones thro away from the beach and the best bar in the whle of gumbet SMILEIES goin nxt year for my 21st cant wait please dont be put off by any bad reviews its a quality hotel and great value

I've been coming and going to The Sunway for the last year and I would never even think about staying anywhere else when I go to Gumbet never mind Turkey !!
If you read the last report from Mrs Young, sorry Mrs Young your in Turkey and no you dont get a full english breakfast, go next door if you want that !!! Yeh the food is different from what we are used to but they have chicken, beef and lamb, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, salad, rice everything, they even do my favourite tomatoe soup, something different every day !! Thats the lunch and evening menu, if you're not up for that then during the day, from 2 - 5pm they have a burger and chips chef at the pool !! What else could you ask for ??????????
I love this place, I booked for 2 weeks and stayed for over a month, all the staff are friendly, especially you Dennis !! Papa, Shamus, Tahir, will make sure you have a great time and if there is a problem with your stay (I doubt it) they will make sure it is sorted, no problem !!
I just got back from The Sunway on Tuesday and I'm going back in a week on my own, only because I know that all the staff will look after me, they are like family.
If you want a nice hotel, with friendly staff, a short stroll from the beach and the night life and you want to have a good time then this is the place to go !!
I recomend it !! 10 out of 10 !!!!!!!
Hope you enjoy this hotel as much as I do, hey you never know I might see you there in the next week or two !!!!!!!

I think that some people might mis understand the whole idea about this hotel. this hotel is a 3* so dont go there thinking its going to be luxury. apart from it being a 3* hotel which i am not used to, i thaught that it was great and i had a real amazing time. eveyone at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. the rooms were cleaned very well and the deco was average. i really would love to go back. and i really do recommend this hotel. and as for the people who disagree then your luck is just bad, because this hotel was perfectly fine considering it is 3*. to conclude i would say that it doesnt matter where you stay its what you make of your own holiday. and i would defo say that its a 5*. :)

dont be fooled by previous reports. This hotel is a 2 star at best. The food was bland the breakfast non existant. The rooms were grubby. The sheets and towels were spotless and most of the staff were extremely friendly. If you are Turkish you get served first and get bigger helpings at snack time which consists of chips and a burger (in two weeks this did not vary). The pool is not suitable for young children or adults who cannot swim. (there is no shallow end u cannot stand up and my son is 6ft) The only good thing about this hotel is location. it is 2 mins from the beach and the main shopping area Bar street is about a 5 min walk away. The jacuzzi that is advertised is no longer there. the disco bar after 11 at night is no longer there. If you want a drink you usually have to wait on the bar staff retrieving clean glasses. There are 2 bars but only one open at a time and only 1 member of staff working. half way into our holiday they changed the way u could get drinks to one drink per person, and if you drank that quick they questioned why u were back up for another one. I have been to Turkey many times before but i just did not like this hotel. The false advertising about the extras such as animation team jacuzzi ect did not sit well with myself or my family. I would therefore not recommend this hotel for any family going to Gumbet.

We booked this as a last minute deal, and we loved the whole week we were there. The Hotel is clean, staff are friendly (they work so so hard). The food was always good, something new each day! There was always 4 hot dishes for lunch and dinner with soup and a huge salad bar with lots a bread. The bar was open from 10 am to 11 pm (free) drinks after that you had to charge to your room. Water and coffee was 24 hours.
The pool was very big the only bad thing i can about it is that there is no shallow end.
The bedrooms were cleaned each day and beds made very nicely. We had clean towels 3 times which was nice. None of the bedrooms had a balconey, it would have been nice to have one but it didnt bother us too much as we just used the bedroom to sleep in really and spent most of the time by the pool or in the beautiful court yard. We will defo be going back to Sunway in 2009.

I have been going to Sunway Hotel for 7years now,It is one of the best Hotels that I have stayed in.Food,rooms,staff everything is perfect for me.The beach is just a stone through away,the bars and restruants are all near the Hotel.
The only thing they need there is more entertainment to keep people there while there waiting for the night life to kick in.

I went to Sunway for 1 week in June, with a friend and ended up staying there for 8 weeks, on my own !!
I was totally impressed with the hotel and the staff, Boss, Papa, Sheriffe, Mona, Joe, Max, (Dennis) Adnan, there are so many too mention, but I will never forget you all, they couldn't do enough for me. As I was on my own, I was a bit wary, but every single person that worked there were like family and looked after me !!
I must admit I didn't really eat at the hotel, only because I couldn't get up for breakfast and I couldn't really eat because of the heat, but they catered for everyone. Thanks Joe for my tomato soup !!
The Turkish nights, were brilliant, not only did they have belly dancers, they had a snake charmer and break dancers !! There's a photographer, Baris, on site, that will take you away to the beach and take some beautiful photographs of you and your loved ones You get to pick what photo's and how many you want. There's also a hairdresser's on site !!
The Sunway is only minutes away from Bar Street, where it's all happening, and the beach !!
I would also recommend you trying the Turkish Bath, that's down stairs from the hotel, you can't go to Turkey and not try a traditional Turkish Bath !! I must of had one a week and all the boys are really nice, once again I was treated like family !!
I would recommend The Sunway Hotel, Gumbet to anyone !! Hey I'm going back in October, so if that doesn't say something then what can !!

Brill holiday. Staff were all very friendly and the local people were also great. All inclusive food was amazing and the 2 minute walk down to the beach with the free sunbeds was a good bonus too. You got 3 meals a day plus, from 1-5 ish they served snacks at the bar. Vodka, beer, wine, pop and raki (very strong if you've never had it before) all part of the all inclusive, as well as air-con in your room (some people mentioned they had to pay for theirs this no longer happens). If you are unhappy with your room they will gladly change it for you. Our room was along the main road and we heard no noise. Will definitely be going back later in the year.

Best holiday in ages. Our first holiday in Turkey will not be the last, especially in this hotel.
The staff could not do enough for you, the food was excellent, and the location good. (200 yards from the sea, taxi rank, and bus stop nearby).
The new management and staff are first class, and we will be going back to the Sunway in September or October.
