Verging on disappointing
The good: The staff is lovely. So is the pool. The food can be good. The rooms are unique and pleasant. The bad: How do you feel about the smell of diesel and loud noise? If you like it coming straight at you from the beach, then this is the place for you. The location could be lovely IF the beach wasn't like being parked by the freeway. It is even difficult to snorkle for fear of being run over by one of the speed or long tail boats. The ugly: My response to all the traffic, diesel fumes and noise. I turned into one ugly... more
Nice idea, but poor execution. You'd better like diesel fumes!
Mixed. First, the good news. The rooms are beautifully designed, really charming - although it's hard to have the natural look and feel without nature coming in and having a piece of you (i collected 100 or so bites in a week, and only about 3 the following week at Rayavadee). The spa is SUPERB. The people are lovely, it is very calm and professional. We used it all the time. The bad news... however charming and nice the staff are (and they are), they seem really under-managed. Pretty well every day we found simple things were too much... more
Amazing Rooms-beach area needs work
Before booking with hotel-really look around for rates. We booked through the hotel and then found a better rate elsewhere- but could not cancel ( it was a website promotion price) and they would not honor the rate we found. After numerous e-mails they did upgrade us- but that was only because the resort was not fully booked. The reason you go to Zeavola is for the rooms and isolation. They are amazing-private and furnished wonderfully. The garden rooms are the way to go-- they offer the most privacy ( at least ours did). We faced a... more
Zeavola ruined our honeymoon!!!! + RATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were met by a representative of Zeavola and taken to a room where we met what later turned out to be the manager of Zeavola. We took the 1hr long boat ride to the island (again no mention of transfer period) which was exciting. When we arrived we thought we were arriving in paradise. Everything looked amazing. We got taken to the reception area an met by a woman that was very difficult to understand and didn't speak very good English. She began to check us in but then started to be concerned over which room type we were staying in. I... more
Amazing !
My boyfriend and I stayed at Zeavola Hotel Nov 21-23th. It was an amazing experience. Great service, excellent room, and good food. We found being there for 3 days was perfect, we got to take tours out to see all the islands around phi-phi and laid out on the beach which was so peaceful ( great lounge pillows and chairs). I would recommend using there transfer service ( Its sooo worth it) The ferry takes FOREVER and it's very crowded. But once we got to the hotel, we were greeted with cool cloth's, and a drink. Only 2 other resorts on... more
Zeavola..charms of rural Thai
My girlfriend and myself stayed 4 nights at Zeavola from Nov 12-15 2006. The transfer to the hotel takes a bit of effort, but careful planning and effective communication with the hotel eased our worries. Our journey from Phuket was: *Communicate with hotel via email to let them know of your arrival time i.e. which ferry you will be catching (there are only 2 ferries a day). *Upon arrival at Phuket, take a taxi from the aiport to Rasada Pier (try to take the cheaper metered taxis). *Take the Andaman Wavemaster ferry,... more
Fantastic
Excellent Small Boutique Hotel, o shadow of a doubt the best choice in the island, what also means the best in the region by the way. Service is very good, accomodations are awesome, massage therapies are dreams and, of course, the island is great. Only few tiny things I would change to have a perfect place: restaurant (after few days you get a little bored of same dishes), better transfers from Phuket Airport (hotel should offer better options, no only via regular crowded boats), insects (yeap, that's bad), price (it's expensive!... more
Before you spend alot of money READ THIS!!!
MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!! BEFORE YOU BLOW ALOT OF MONEY READ THIS... we arrived after a long flight, to be told that the transfer boat from the main pier to the hotel had already departed and we would have to make our own way (with all our bags) we then arrived at the hotel and checked in. we had previously booked and paid for our room through an agent, and prined out confirmation. the GENERAL MANAGER then tried to duispute and dismiss the rate we had been given, and she then tried to argue that we had not paid even though we had written proof... more
Zeavola is pure bliss
We stayed at Zeavola during the rainy season and got really lucky - it only rained once during the 4 days we were there in mid-September. The rooms are very unique - each a seperate bungalow with glass walls in a jungle (pay more for the ocean view, but then you will have loads of people walking by all day long). We had a "Village Suite" and it was lovely. My husband epecially liked the motorized bamboo blinds. The only thing I would warn against is for being "trapped audience" at Zeavola - they only had one restaurant (with not much... more
Pretty much perfect
I pre-booked 6 nights at Zeavola as part of my honeymoon, after finding it on some websites and checking out the reviews on tripadvisor. We stayed in a Beach front suite which was about 9000Baht per night. I had thought it might have been cheaper to book when we got to Thailand but, being a honeymoon, didn't want to risk not getting in. Would agree with the last reviewer that the transfers could have been easier (as we got on the long-tail boat from ton sai I think my new bride was having second thoughts!) Any doubts she may have had,... more
