Bay View Resort Hotel

Booked online and after reading other reviews. Also liked the idea of being on a hill with (hopefully) great views and away from the main town area for the quiet. Had read stories of a long uphill climb with heavy bags - but ours were carried both ways. The view was amazing and the mini bar prices excellend - not even worth lugging the beer up from the local shops as the mini bar prices were better! Only stayed two nights but wish we had booked for longer.

We booked though the Adventure Club, and got a good price for the room and some diving, with transfers from Phuket airport by car and ferry. Everything went very smoothly, we got to the main pier on Tonsai bay, and found the hotel representative. He checked us off on a list, organised our luggage and ourselves onto a boat, and we quickly crossed the bay to the hotel. Rather than a day trip to Phi Phi, I decided to book an overnight stay as it wasn't too much more cost-wise. I booked it a day in advance - the hotel were well prepared for us and we had a fab time. It is situated at the end of the beach of Ton Sai Bay and was very, very quiet. It is beach front with beautiful views of Phi Phi Lei - the views are incredible. My friends and me had a good stay on the Phi Phi Islands! We wanted to stay in a nice place and this was one of the cheaper ones on the Island. A bit more expensive then on the main land, but you'll get a location that is like paradise! Our small house was nice to stay in, with a small veranda, an ok bathroom and good beds. When we arrived by ferry on the island, we were taken on a longtail boat to the beach for free, and some small but very strong Thai guys carried our heavy backpacks up the hill. The furthest hotel in Ton Sai Bay. All blockhouses wonderful for honeymoon. Sea view blocked by trees. People can see into the room while passing by. Seems no room service.

I have stayed here twice, and am planning to come back later this year and stay here again. I thought that the individual stilted bungalows were really fitting in their environment and for a 2/3 star hotel, excellent value for money. The first time I came here, we went from Phi Phi to the Centara Grand in Krabi (a 7 star hotel) and every night that I was in this luxurious hotel I wanted to be back in the Bay View, Phi Phi. That hoepfully says alot....

Stayed off peak, found hotel staff to be very very helpful, including room service helping me out at 4am! Good included breakfast, great views of the sea and Maya bay and a superb private beach. Close enough to walk to the main town but it is quite, would recommend!

We stayed there with the family for only a 3 days. On arrival we got a little bit upset as the transfer by boat from the pier to the hotel did not work very well. We had to wait more than 40 min and had to arrange our own transfer then. When confronting the front office manager (?) the only comment was that they had been to busy. I was really concerned about this resort after reading all the negative reviews about it, but I needn't have worried. It is rated as a 2 star resort but I have stayed in quite a few 3 & 4 star resorts & this was just as good if not better. I think that out of all the other resorts located in Tonsai Bay that the Bay View is set in the best position. It is in a quiet location at the end of Tonsai Bay with the bungalows positioned on a hill to take in the fantastic views with Phi Phi Lay in the background. The resort is only a 5... more
