loved this place
A stop for a few days in PhaNgan for our honeymoon trip. The resort is really nice, perfectly integrated into the nature (something that need to to be mentioned). The service is not a high class level service and is not really a good quality service. We were really disapointed when we arrived to our room because this room was supposed to be a suite with ocean view. It was into the forest, very dark without any real view on the ocean. It did not smell good (humidity). We asked for changing room and get a real view over the ocean. The next... more
Stunning resort on beautiful beach on Koh Phangan
We had a wonderful stay at the Panviman on Koh Phangan, from the time we were dropped off on the beach by boat to the time we left to go on to koh samui. We were extremely impressed with the quality of our accommodation (a deluxe cottage) which was huge, with views across the gulf, even from the bathroom (and a double sunken bath!). Breakfast was a real highlight and we adored the banana pancakes made at the 'egg station' - there was a huge array of food available, from scrambled eggs and omelets to cereals and every kind of fruit... more
Up-market oasis in unspoilt Thailand Island
Panviman is aiming to be upmarket in a remote spot and almost entirely succeeds. The island is so much more unspoilt than its neighbour Ko Samui and this hotel is in a lovely spot on its own headland in the middle of a fairly remote bay which just has a few other bungalows, bars and restaurants, all very low density. You do need to be able to climb a few steps to get back to the main resort area from the beach, but its not a big deal, five minutes at most. The hotel has a super restaurant on the beach and the barbeque evenings are very good.... more
Lovely and relaxing
We stayed here at the end of August for a week of our honeymoon and loved it. The place was so beautifully landscaped! We stayed in a "superior hotel room" which is less expensive but actually looked to be nicer than some of the cottages (some of them were a serious uphill hike to get to also!). We had a gorgeous view over the pool and ocean and the way that the balconies are set up there is a great deal of privacy. The staff was very attentive but not in your face. We had a problem with the safe and they were there to help us in 2 minutes.... more
Rest and Relaxation
Stayed two weeks at this hotel in deluxe rooms with two teenage children. The efficient service was next to none. Having travelled around most of the island . This appears to be the best place to stay. Full buffett breakfast was available daily. My children couldn't resist the banana pancakes. The resort is spread out and there is some walking to be done some , The delux cottages are set into the hillside and are very eco friendly with balconies looking out to sea. Prices for food is somewhat higher that what can be bought in restaurants on... more
Perfect place for a chilled time
We arrived at the Panviman by speedboat, which is worth the extra money for a stylish arrival. Stayed in a Deluxe cottage which was excellent with fabulous attention to detail. The beauty of the resort is its remote setting which we loved. The pool was great with stunning views and plenty of sun beds. Both restaurants served very nice food with the normal thai friendliness throughout the resort. The beach was great and always so peaceful. It was my birthday during the stay. Knock knock on the cottage door late... more
Fantastic Resort on Northern Koh Phangnan
We loved Panviman! What an amazing location on the north east coast of Koh Phangnan Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach, a hidden slice of paradise. The hotel was wonderful - great cottage with a view and the pool area was incredible. Gotta love those infinity edge pools! We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food, but overall it was a wonderful little resort and well worth the cost. Althought it was the most expensive on tnis beach, relatively speaking ( I think we paid about $60 per night online) it was still a bargain to feel like a queen for a... more
An amazing location
We stayed at Panviman for a week and, despite unseasonally wet weather, had a great time. Like previous reviewers, we found it not always the slickest of operations, but the location, views and the warmth of the staff seemed somehow far more important. The resort itself has stunning views and two amazing beaches, although one of them is not as easy to get to as it might be considering it is only a very short distance from the hotel. (That side of the bay also has an ATM.) The journey from the ferry port is astonishing - not very... more
Stressed, tired and over worked? Head to this touch of paradise
My partner and I just arrived back from 4 nights at the Panviman Resort (March) and can say without a doubt that Ko Phangan (Thong Nai Pan Noi) is truely paradise. If all you want to do is chill out, get brown, sip cocktails, get rubbed up and down by professional masseuses and swim in turquoise waters - this place is for you! Thong Nai Pan Noi is definitely the nicer of the two bays but it is a little bit more touristy (by no means anywhere near as touristy as Ko Samui though) and the place does still retain its 'untouched feel'. <br... more
Great facilities, rooms need renovation
This resort is a bit out of the way, and can be expensive if you miss the transfer from the pier (100 Baht vs 600-1000Baht). If heavy rain can be an exciting trip as the roads are not sealed (have travelled on much worse than this in Thailand, not too bad). I would rate the resort in different sections: Rooms: We stayed in the Hotel room. The view was fantastic, but the room is very run down. For the price you would expect more. This did not bother us too much as it was perfectly clean and no problems other than a bit old. Perhaps... more
