had stayed in svorenata before, but not at sotiris so went on reviews, and wasnt disapointed! if you want a quiet get away from it all holiday in a quiet location id reccomend these studios, terry the owners son will go out of his way to make yopur stay thougherely memorable, including retrieving a lost dummy left in a taxi averting a crisis! there are a few tavernas and restaurants nearby, and some lovely beaches, nearest ammes 5 mins walk, we more or less had it to ourselves, aj hellas beach about 30 mins walk but down a cliff via steps, and aviathos, about 50 minute walk, we spent a lot of the holiday walking all over svorenata and id say ammes 5 minaway is the best of the beaches, few smaller ones quite a walk away but not very good, studios are 5 min in taxi from airport, but beware its a 15e min fare as they come from argistoli, we actually walked to the airport coming back, which is only about 15 mins, which was great as we could check in first early and stroll up tp a nearby restaurant which does a lovely breakfast for 6e, its not a busy airport, and you walk off the plane to the terminal and luggage is very quickly off the plane. taxi to lassi or argistoli is 15e, car hire locally is quite cheap at about 80e for 3 days and terry will sort this out for you, if you want a lively holiday then pick another island, but for a quite relaxing holiday you couldnt do better, will definatle be returning for another holiday, one thing, food prices are very expensive if you do self catering, eg tin of beans 1.20e and tin of soup 1.80e so id advise you to try and take some food with you, choice a bit limited, restaurant prices average meal for twm about 25e, large lager 2.80e

What more can I say ??? This family is absolutely NUMBER ONE !!! We love them to bits. Been visiting Kefalonia for 11 years now and this is THE BEST accommodation on the ISLAND. You may be near the airport but this just adds to the kids enjoyment, watching the planes land. The family owned accommodation is fantastic, clean, spacious and the pool is great. We've just come back from a week there and my 2 year old wouldn't come out of the pool. There is also a paddling pool for infants as well. i would recommend this place to stay for ANYONE. It suits all. Terry, Sotiris and Maria, you make us feel like part of your family and we hope we do get back, even when we are living in New Zealand !! WE LOVE YOU !!!!

We ended up at these apartments ona fluke, we originally were meant to go to Skala but the hotel had been closed down. We were at first a little disapointed at the resort of svoronata as its so quiet but after a while we grew to love the place, how many resorts can you get a full beach to yourself! In terms of these apartments, they are one of the best we have stayed in at Greece, so clean and well equipped and the staff are so friendly! The bar would stay open as long as you wanted a drink and was really well priced. Fantastic place but you may need to rent a car/bike if you want to explore as there's not much to do but chill.

I never write reviews about holidays as I am normally either just satisfied or disapointed. However on this occassion my expectations were surpassed. This accomodation is very basic, but if you are looking for the most amazing service, welcoming and friendly faces and beautiful setting then this is the place to go. The family who own and run the apartments have 150% commitment to making your holiday what you want, whether its booking cars, suggesting tourist attractions, recomding restaurants - their wish is your command. The bar is open all day and night as is the restaurant. We had many a happy afternoon/night spent drinking cocktails made by one of the 3 friendly sons who now run the business. We ate in the restaurant only one evening, there is a mixture of greek and british dishes. There are a few restaurants in walking distance but you really need a car to go further a field. We also hired bikes for a couple of days from a local hotel which was another great way to see the village and local beaches. The village is within 5/10 mins drive from the airport - DO NOT BE PUT OFF - I think we saw 10 planes in the whole week and its loads of fun watching the come and go and waving off your new found friends as they fly over head. They must have 100% retention of customers, as we didnt meet a single couple/family that hadnt been there previously - I am sure that speaks for itself.

My partner & I stayed for a week in August 2008 and wish we had had booked for longer. The Fragias family members made us feel welcome and are very friendly. The studio was clean, reasonably sized with all self catering requirements provided. A good air-con unit and small safe in the room was also provided. The medium sized swimming pool was not too busy and the poolside bar, cafe/restaurant and minimarket were well sited. The accomodation is close to the airport (found this an advantage, as signposting isn't too great in Svoronata) and under flightpath but no planes from from midnight to 11am, and scarce during the day. It was actually a slight thrill to be lying in the pool and have a plane flying overhead!!! The Sotiris is ideally located, only 200m walk to Ammes beach. There are 2 restaurants situated along the beachfront road. Try the Kefalonian meat pie. Would recommend hiring a car to explore the island in fulland it's cheaper to hire when you arrive, with many car rental places available. We toured right around the island and took in all the main attractions, Sami, Skala and Fiskardo, etc. Definitely a location to relax and enjoy the surroundings. If you want nightclubs go to Argostoli (15 minutes by taxi, 15 euros each way). Weather hot, 28 - 37 degreesC. Overall, very enjoyable stay in a nice area, suitable and safe for young children. Will be returning soon I hope!!!

If your looking for an `all singing all dancing` resort or that type of holiday this is NOT for you. If however, you like a good location, decent beach. crystal clear waters and still very peaceful, then it may be right up your street. Great apartments with wonderful gardens and a great pool. This family run business offers genuine Greek hospitality and is located just 10 minutes from the airport. Some aircraft noise, but remember this is no Manchester Airport, with the majority of flights on just 2 days a week. Stayed at the end of June 2008 with very high temperatures. Not many resturants close to hand, although they were good and Marias home cooking at the Sotiris was just excellent. Do hire a car and explore this great island and discover for yourself some stunning sights around the island. Best place in Greece we have visited for `chill out` it really was so peaceful. Although the Sortiris was full there was days when we had the pool to ourselves, other guests on excursions etc. As for the members of the family ? Well it felt like stopping at someones home. Very helpful and friendly and they were all excellent company!! Would we go back there ? .... Too true ... Yamas

Everything about our holiday was perfect. The family really make you feel welcome and settled immediately. Very clean, nothing too much trouble. Will definately be returning next year!!

We have just returned, 8 of us, from the Sotiris and cannot rate it too highly. The family are excellent and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They all went out of their way to make you welcome. Although there is an amount of noise from the airport this is not Gatwick and probably has no more than a dozen flights on its peak days. Having said that it was fun watching the planes. The whole place it spotlessly clean and has air con, hairdryers, fridge, pool, bar and Marias food is just what Greek cooking should be. To vary it up there are a number of other eating places within 2 kilometres. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for the perfect Greek holiday.

Simply amazing value for money, Super clean rooms, great location by the beach, gorgeous pool area, proper cold beer, excellent tapas style food and the most helpful, friendly owners of a hotel we have ever had the pleasure to meet! We've never been ones to stay in the same place twice but we stayed here Sept '05 for a week and were back in May 06 for two!!

Large, airy & bright studio apt. Very clean and run by a lovely family. Good size pool area & pool bar serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Close the airport so some aircraft noice, but apts. all double glazed so not a problem. Will return soon. See their webiste ----
