We got a taxi from Chania airport which cost about 25 euros. The journey took approx 25 minutes. When we got to the hotel we were welcomed by the young man who is the owner's son and who seems to work 24/7! There were a couple of guests in reception waiting to go home and... more

After a 20 min. taxi journey from the airport costing 27 Euros we arrived at the Renieris at the top of the resort of Kato Stalos, which is about 10 mins drive from Chania city centre. The reception was very good and our room on the 2nd floor had great views over the Bay of... more

friendly, helpful hotel
We stayed at the Hotel for a week this month. It was an immaculately clean new hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and gave us advice on how to get to destinations by bus and some traditional greek places to visit, such as Kolimbari, the monastery there is worth visiting and much less touristy than some others, the beach has a few tavernas , which are good, its just a beautiful peaceful place to visit, I hope it stays that way! Chania is lovely I would recommend not visiting on a Saturday as its gets very busy and its a fight to get on buses at the bus station, during the week is much better, the fortezza is a good place for a drink and the views. The beach near the hotel was a bit steep and had seaweed, but if you walk along the beach towards ayia marina, just around a small headland, its much better there and the water is shallow and better for swimming. The hotel was very good and very reasonably priced, I was surprised it was 2 stars, the hairdryers were effective, I have stayed in some 4 star hotels where it took hours to dry your hair with their hairdryers. There was not televisions in the rooms but I think thats a good thing if you want to get away from it all. There are steps down to the beach, but I found my legs toned up nicely by the end of the holiday, but it may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. Breakfast I thought could be improved by having more variety, maybe croissants, pastries and fresh fruit some mornings, and maybe a toaster. We really enjoyed our stay, it was a quiet peaceful hotel, we would liked to have stayed longer. I would recommend it, and if we stayed in the area again we would stay there, its a good base for exploring the west of Crete . Adele & Chris England
Great time at the Renieris hotel
This is an ideal new little hotel. Being a 2 star hotel, the accomodations are fairly basic, but, in reality, it has everything you need. We stayed 3 nights, the service was fantastic and super friendly, the view great, no noise, comfortable room, quiet AC, good breakfast, great pool, a 15 minute drive to Hania. We would definetly go back there. Thanks Renieris!
Fabulous Hotel
What a fabulous hotel, highly recommended. Accommodations: Brand new family run hotel. High standard of cleaniness. This is a perfect place if you want to have no distractions from the outside world. We did not have a TV in the rooms which meant our family was able to spend quality time together. The ocean view was fantastic and breathtaking. We also had our laptop with us and they would allow us to use their internet free of charge. The pool area was wonderful and what a view. Location: Situated close to the beach, the quickest route was using the stairs, but if you have difficulty ascending or descending stairs it may prove to be a challenge. We liked it, as it kept us fit and trim throughout our holiday. Located in the best beach area as it was sandy, other hotels were located on the rocky beach. You were able to use the public transportation to take you to Chania which took about 15 minutes and the bus route ran every half hour. Restaurant: Breakfast was included and it was great. Fresh bread, cheese, fruit etc. The pool bar menu had a great variety and was reasonably price. Every Wednesday evening they had a Greek BBQ with many different meats, salads, potatoes, wine etc. Delicious. Staff: Very accommodating and friendly. They were the nicest people I have ever met and when we left we hugged, it felt as if they were your family too. If you needed anything they would advise you on the best places to eat, bus routes etc. Price: The price was great and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Crete. Thank you for a great vacation. Elizabeth, Keith, Ashley and Mark Warawa Kelowna, BC Canada
A great place
We stayed here for 7 nights. It was great time cause the hotel has good standarts, location and views are great and the family who owns the place is the most kind at Crete :) If you need something they will organize it for you, for example they'll tell you a great local place to eat, not filled with us tourists :) The location up on the hill next to the beach is good. You can admire the sunset from the balcony. And the breakfast is good, as much honey and yoghurt as you can eat. Dont ever give up on this, Giorgios :) Special thank to the family, we'll be back next summer!!! 4 guests from Finland

A warm place to stay at Renieris Hotel
I have travel all over the word. From Europe to China. I have stay in the most famous and expensive hotel in the world. But in Crete at the Renieris hotel we found a warm atmosphere. A nice place to stay, with a welcome smile from the reception, a nice view to the see from the one side and to the town of Chania on the other side. During our stay we had a wonderful time in a warm, clean and comfortable hotel. Certainly this will not be the only time visiting Reneris hotel but we will have a reservation every year.
Great time there!!
It was our most fascinating holiday we ever had!. We had a very good time at Giorgos's Hotel, The Hotel Renieris. Everything was excellent, and the family, who do this hotel, was very polite and friendly. Especially Giorgos, the bigger son. He helped us a lot to rent bike, and what worth to see. They speak very good english, so do not afraid of not understanding each other. The hotel's environment is beautiful. It has a very nice view to the sea. So if you plan to visit western crete I say choose Hotel Renieris in Stalos, you will be happy in this place!!
Renieris Hotel - a perfect place to spend a vacation
Renieris Hotel - a perfect place to spend a vacation You have to travel a lot to find a place were the hospitality is greater than it is at the Renieris Hotel. It’s a small family owned hotel with about 25 rooms – the family run the hotel themselves and it makes you feel like being their private guests. The rooms are cleaned daily and have a very high standard – the hotel opened in June 2005 and every thing looks nice and clean. Nearly all the rooms have a perfect view over the blue sea. The hotel is located on a hill 30 meters above sea level – you can access the hotel by car – but the shortest way down to the beach is by the steps from the pool area – if you are not well on your legs it can be a problem, but most of us need some exercise especially under vacation - bearing in mind the good Greek kitchen and wine. During our vacation the travel agency we travelled with went bankrupt – I think the family Renieris lost some money, but they let us stay though they did ten knew if they were getting any money or not. They even helped us collecting information’s from the Danish Embassy in Athens about getting transport back home to Denmark. We can fully recommend the Renieris Hotel – Henrik Rosenkrantz and Marthe Kakound Mbida
The Best Hotel ever!!!!!!
We stayed at Hotel Renieris for two weeks in the summer of 2006 and we loved it! The Renieris family (who runs the hotel) are very serviceminded and warm people - they even huged us when we left ;-) The family is very hard working and are open to ideas and suggestions. The hotel is located in Kato Stalos and is therefor more peaceful and quiet at night. If you go, be shure to ask for a room with seaside view - the hotel overlooks the ocean and an Island, and the view at night is magnificent and very romantic. The Renieris' held a Greek night for the guests with homemade greek cuisine and wine for a very moderest price - highly recommendable. We have traveled many places around the world but the stay at hotel Renieris tops it all - go there if you come to Crete...you wont be disappointed!!! If we return to Crete in the future, we wouldn't want to stay at any other hotel. Anita & Jesper Andersen - Danish Guests
Loved the Renieris Hotel
Stayed at the Renieris Hotel for one week at the end of June. Our stay was wonderful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We were made to feel really welcome by Georgios and his family. Nothing was too much trouble. Georgios provided us with lots of useful information on places to visit and places to eat which we appreciated very much. The room was very clean and comfortable and we loved being able to sit out at the balcony with a glass of wine overlooking the fantastic view. The breakfast was good (continental) and we liked having the flexibility of it being served between 8.00 and 10.30. We like our lie ins, we can't help it!!! Delicious fruit salad too :)) The pool area is lovely although they could do with a few more sun loungers. The bar is a great place to chill out when you've had a bit too much sun and you can stay there until midnight if you want. The other big plus is that because the hotel only has 20 rooms there is always a feeling of having lots of space. The bar and pool area never get crowded which for us makes the experience much more personal. You are really made to feel like a guest and not a number although the staff understand your need for privacy as well. The village of Kato Stalos is lovely. It's not too busy but has a good selection of restaurants and bars. We were happy to be in a place that was not too commercialised. Besides, Chania is only a 20 minute journey on the bus if you're looking for a bit more hustle and bustle. The location of the hotel is possibly the best thing about the hotel. It is situated at the top of a hill overlooking the bay. It's really picturesque and you can hardly hear any traffic noise. We've never slept so well :)) I can't recommend Renieris Hotel enough. We had a wonderful stay there and can't wait to go back. Our only regret is that we didn't go for two weeks :)) A big thank you to Georgios and his family.
