Submitted By: malcwendyZac one of the best cook's we have come across abroad can deliver some of the best tasting food you will probably ever taste and when he cook's in the wood oven ,WOW what a great taste of good home cooking !!!(CRETE cooking). This is just one of the great skills Zac has.He can be a great host, bar tender,A very energetic man as he tends the farm early in the morning to make sure everything is as fresh as possible from day to day (A Very hard worker)as well he looks after their animals, fresh produce on the farm, grapes ,olives, potatoes, artichokes, and if zac can grow it he will, ready for the season.
Georgio works as hard as Zac as Georgio does more to greet the guests no matter what time you arrive or leave, Georgio is always there to meet and greet in the early hours of the day ,at certain times you will get both brothers meeting you and it's certainly a very warm welcome what ever time you get there !
Georgio does the hotel bar, shopping for every day goods that is needed around the hotel,So everything is fresh day to day.If it's needed Georgio will sorce the best and go and get it .Being very skilled at sorcing the best produce for the job
Both brothers have a good alround knowledge of the area and can advise you of some of the fabulous places to visit
The area surrounding the hotel is being modernised all the time as new paths are being laid and lighting erected from amoudara to gazi and the work never gets in the way of a great holiday as they seem to be able to work on this modernization without too much disruption to the tourists (I think most work will be finished before next season as we were there a week and they got a lot of the pavement finished.)
A needed feature for tourist's and locals so it's safer and easier to walk to and from gazi to amoudara day time and night.
Amoudara is a beautiful place to shop, eat, drink as it has a lot to offer for the tourists
The beach is only 5 minutes away from the hotel and stretches for quite a long way ,water sports, beech bars and cafe's can be found along the stretch of the beech here.
GAZI.is another nice place to visit as the shops have a wide variety of goods to offer as well as cafe bars, super markets ,cake shops ,butchers, well basically everthing you want !!
AN ALROUND FABULOUS AREA TO BE.
Back to the hotel!
The Hotel is well situated in the area and has a great pool surrounded by garden, palm trees, pool bar,sun loungers.seating and eating area
OVERALL YOU COULDN'T WISH FOR A NICER PLACE
I will be back many times
Advice: A place well worth visiting
Activities: The mountains are amust but you will need transport
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: katewardthe imperial hotel is an amazing place and you must go there.
we arrived at the imperial at 3am in the morning, as soon as we arrived Georgio was up and awake to greet us and show us to our room. the rooms are nice but basic so don't go expecting complete luxury. the studios are small but apparently the apartment is lovely sleeping up to 4 people. all the balcony's have lovely views of the mountains and some of the sea.
the food at the hotel is a must have especially when they cook in there clay oven which they do about 2-3 times a week. all of the food they use is mostly from there farm or surrounding farms in the area.
they also have a bar where somebody is always there to serve you.
the pool there is lovely but quite cold, it is open from 7am-7pm which is round about when the sun goes down.
Amoudara is a small town with many shops, restaurants, and little supermarkets but if you want to get around a bit more there's a regular bus to heraklion/iraklio for 1.30single. Heraklion is full of shops and has a big bus/coach station which is where we got the bus to Chania (3 hours away by coach).
You can also go to Georgio and Zacs home village of Gazi which is about a 5 minute walk away which is lovely and bakes the nicest cakes going.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away with lots of cafes backing onto it which each own some of the sunbeds. The sunbeds are usually free if you buy a drink at the cafe. There is also a pool on the beach which is nice but plays very loud music so for a quieter day on the beach I recommend walking further up.
The imperial hotel is a place i will definitely be returning to in the future.
Zac and Georgio make the stay amazing and there English is brilliant!!!
If you go to the imperial you will have an amazing time just like we did :)we booked this holiday after reading the outstanding reviews on holiday watchdog.

" Fantastic!!!
We arrived at 0530... "
We arrived at 0530 in the morning. Georgos was waiting, and he has been waiting all night. Information about landing time, had not reached him.
The hotel is very good. Nice rooms and a beautiful garden. The pool suits both adults and children. We had lot of fun playing in the pool with a shark, a lobster and two wheels. (all blow up toy)
The hotel cat ”crazcat”, was also entertaining us.
Zack made us two very nice meals. The Stifado was the best we ever have tasted, and the chicken was delicious. This was the 8. time I was I Greece, and the 5. time for my husband. We had the best time ever at Imperial. We felt like we was a part of the family.
We will come back, with or without children. :-)

Submitted By: Miss T MULLIGANGrorge and Zak have built a wood oven in the garden and on odd evenings they offer a cooked evening meal for a small price. The food cooked is all sorced from local farms.
During the day there is a bar menu which is cooked to order and most of the food is from thier farm or local farmers.
This is not a place if you are looking for active night music dancing ect though there is a DISCO in town but i have never seen anyone in there.

Submitted By: Mrs GRIFFINZak and Georgio are the best. They made the holiday. They were very friendly and very accomodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is basic but clean and has everything you need. The Food, especially in the evening was out of this world!!!!! would recommend eating in at the studios (especially if Zak is cooking) instead of the nearby restaurants.
If you are looking for a fun holiday but relaxing with great company, you will not go wrong at the Imperial Studios. We will be going back as my girls loved the place and loved being there.

I went away on my own but enjoyed eating out in Amoudara, going to Heraklion, Spinalonga where the leper colony was, Aghious Nikoli
us, where they filmed "The Lotus Eaters" years ago. I managed a very cheap bus ride into Chania to admire the Roman Architecture, an old Turkish bath which is now a very good restaurant, one of my favourites with live music some Sunday afternoons.
The shops in Chania are a must a street it seems for each commodity and a market hall for food, clothes, spices, leather goods well see for yourself before you go for refreshment down on the seafront where you'll be spoilt for choice and views.
I will return Janice Davies

They make you feel at home right away, there is never any young lager louts running around so there is no problem relaxing in the sun. The food is outstanding, beef dishes that Zac cooks from the out side oven will blow your mind!and the prices are very good as well.
I would say to any one give it a try you will never forget your stay and will always want to go back.
Flight from Gatwick RTN cost about £180 inc tax upwards.
Taxi from Heraklion airport will cost about 25 euro's and RTN from the hotel about 35 euro's.
So whats stopping you now from giving your self the most relaxing holiday you will ever have!!!!
