We stayed in D2 Chiang Mai in June 2007 - we found all the staff to be polite, courteous, friendly, and efficient.
The hotel itself is ultra modern in design and decor - it was a pleasure to stay there. The breakfast and service were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble.
The pool was relaxing and the gym had a good selection of equipment - we particularly enjoyed the steam room: and the changing rooms and facilities were first class.
Rooms were kept spotlessly clean, and a box of 'presents' was left daily in the room which proved a nice surprise on returning from sightseeing (i.e. sweets, fruit, candles, etc.).
We would thoroughly recommend staying at D2 if you visit Chiang Mai. The hotel is very central, just around the corner from the interesting night market.
