Danae Studio Apartments

We visited Danae apartments as a last minute booking June 2007 with slight trepidation after reading some negative reviews. We booked the 3 bed apartment for the five of us (3 kids 10, 7 & 5) and hoped for the best.
We couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodation (well we could have been but not much...)
Having been to Greece before we expected basic but clean conditions and this is what we found at Danae.
The rooms were basic, clean, & sparse, with a big fridge in the kitchen and the appearance of a new kettle from the owners on the first evening. The kitchen and bathroom had obviously not been updated for 50 years but it all added to the character and charm.
The beds were made daily, the sheets changed twice in the week we were there; even the washing up was done which we had left in the morning. There was also plenty of hot water for showers.
My husband’s only concern was the bed... it was so uncomfortable (for him) that he was glad to only have a week in it, although the rest of the family were fine.
If you expect 5***** luxury then it’s not for you, but if you know Greece accommodation then it’s great! Especially the location which I forgot to mention, panoramic sea view, with steps from the terrace into the sea.
My top tip would be to forget the 'use of pool' from the hotel next door, we found it full of pedantic 'towels on beds at 6.00am' crowd... instead head the other way, past the vacant lot and into the Windmill apart hotel.
This is brand new with a fabulous pool, outstanding food and if you head behind the toilets you will find an abundance of shower rooms for you to use... We used them the last day as we had an evening flight and so spent the day at this pool.
