The owners have cleverly mixed traditional Savoie style with a welcome and warmth that has families like ours returning year after year.
This hotel's easy going style puts guests at ease very quickly and soon feels like a home from home. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners or staff.
The hotel has fantastic views plus a lovely indoor swimming pool and gym. A great position between Morzine and Avoriaz also makes linking into the Portes du Soleil ski area very easy. Really 1st class.
- Advice: Easy access to Geneva, excellent access Porte du Soleil ski area
- Activities: Too many lovely mountain restaurants to list
- Good For: Beach

We stayed at the Hotel Petit Cheval Blanc and found it to be a thoroughly unpleasant experience.
While the hotel itself is cheap and basic(it is only 2 star after all), the owner is disgusting, rude and bigotted individual and his treatment of us left me feeling very angry. A minor accident with the current rail in our bedroom resulted in him flying into an uncontrollable rage, screaming at us and threatening to evict us from the hotel. We caused no hassle whatsoever in the hotel and he treated us like dirt. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere!!

Having checked the negative reports about this hotel (in hindsight), after booking our skiing holiday in Morzine, we arrived at the Petit Cheval Blanc with a mixture of apprehension and trepidation. We had no reason to worry, the service, food, hospitality and the accomodation in general was first class and made for a memorable family holiday for my wife, myself and our two adult children. I would go back anytime and also recommend it to anyone. We had no problem with Pierre, his wife or staff and can only assume that the previous negative reports were isolated incidents.

***** AVOID THIS PALCE *****--- all went well until check out day. One of the group had sat on a coffee table which fell apart all too easily. Nevertheless, we reported it to Pierre the owner, and offered to pay for the damage. We were then told that it cost 300 euros. (He could have easily replaced this for £10). On checking the rooms Pierre then claimed that we had damaged a bed which was brand new and had cost him 1000 euros! The bed was a fold down bed and had already been made when we initially went to our rooms, so we didn't notice any damage. We had only used it to sleep on for two nights. After threats to call the police an dwith only 30 minutes until our transfer arrived we were forced to pay an additional 600 euros between us before being able to leave. I would prefer to sleep rough then give this guy any more of my money.

This Hotel was very warm and friendly. The staff were very helpful and the overal accomadation was very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would be nice.
This is my second year of staying here and would go back next year for sure.
The food was very good however you only get one choice. A second choice would be better as, if you do not want whats on the menu you may have a problem. Saying this I am sure the staff would go out of there way to make sure you were happy.
The gym ans swimming pool are very good get away from it all breakers. These were very tidy. The ski lock up was very safe and I did not worry leaving my board in the lock up. As sometimes I often have.
A nice walk into the town or take the ski bus located at a stones throw. There is a supermarket just down the road which is very handy for late night snacks. I always enjoy my stay here, having a one for the road drink in the bar before I snuggle down for a good nights rest.

Hey we just got back from morzine after staying in the petit cheval blanc ! There was six of us lads around 20 years old ! The food was great each night ! The rooms are what you pay for but then you shouldn't b doing much more than sleeping in there! The owners were great and really friendly ! You do have to remeber you are in France so they are all a bit wierd ! Just try a few French phrases and you are away ! I recommend this hotel ! Ski avoriaz the buss is behind on the higher road and cable car is only 5 mins away ! Def going back next year !
