We went to the Villa Mulino in April 2008 with Shearings. Great food, great room, friendly staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere. If I had a gripe, and it would be only one, it would be that the shower cubicle was TINY!!!! If we get the chance, we'd definitely stay here... more

Just returned from Hotel Mulino in Garda, Lake Garda. I went with 3 friends aged between 30-50. I would very much like to recomend the hotel and the town of Garda, despite pre-conceptions that it would be full of elderly folk this was completly wrong! The age group there... more

Have been to this hotel six times now and definitely intend to return. It is situated a short walk from the lakeside and small village of Garda and although quite small (44 bedrooms) it does have an outdoor swimming pool and terrace bar. One of the reasons for our return... more

Loved the Mulino
Just come back from a fabulous two week holiday. All the reviews are correct. Service excellent, staff friendly and nothing too much trouble. Piero the owner genuinely cares for his clients and provides entertainment that is for everyone "3 to 99". We booked this hotel as we had in the past stayed at the Palme and walked by wondering what all the laughter was and could see people enjoying themselves. It was so lovely to be part of it rather than just be a outsider. The food was excellent nothing the same in our 14 nights. The gala evening during the Garda festival was stupendous, we lost count of the courses but took 3 hours to eat all the delicacies. We thought taking our 15 year old son there would be an effort to keep him amused but he enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings and made many friends. When we left we had staff, the hotel family waving us off. Thank you Piero and your family for a fabulous holiday.
Great Hotel - Villa Mulino
We stayed at the Villa Mulino for 7 nights in July and it lived up to our expectation base on the other reviews here. If you like the smaller more personal hotels the Mulino is great. The hotel is run by a gentleman called Piero who works from morning to night keeping the guests happy. Piero also provides evening entertainment with the help of 2 very funny barmen, Salvatore and Simone. We didn't think this would be our thing, but found ourselves strolling back to the hotel after our evening meal along the lake to have a drink and join in with the quiz. All of the hotel staff, without exception are helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, being a 3 or 4 minute walk to the town and lake side. The rooms aren't large, but good enough for the time you will spend there (there's so much to see and do around Garda). The pool and surroundings are very pleasant and clean. We stayed bed and breakfast, so can't comment on the food. Breakfast was the same every morning, but did the job. If we go back to Garda I'm sure we'll go back to the Villa Mulino.
A Real Gem
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Villa Mullino. Prevoius comments with regard to the friendliness of Piero and his staff are wholly accurate - the hotel has a very friendly and warm atmosphere. Staff without exception were friendly and helpful. We stayed half board and the food was very good - three courses every evening with a salad bar. On the gala evening we were treated to at least five courses! Entertainment delivered by Piero was at the right level - not over bearing in any way and no pressure to join in quizzes etc. Rooms were spacious, adequately furnished and very clean. Hotel was also in a good position - a very short walk away from the shops and the lake front and close to the bus station. One observation I would make is that the swimming pool would not be suitable for young children who cannot swim as the shallow end is still fairly deep. Otherwise the pool was very clean and well looked after. Bravo Piero!
Best hotel in Lake Garda for service and location
Piero and the staff at the Villa Mulino are fantastic. We were so sad that we only stayed for 3 days................ wished it was much longer! The room was clean, spacious, and bright with everything you could need. The food was superb and there was always more than enough!! The location was great, just 2 mins walk from the lake side, and with Piero's own trpe of evening entertainment, who would even want to go out? A lovely pool and bar area are available when the sun is shining, and the hotel is next to the bus terminus, so perfect for exploring the rest of Lake Garda and surrounding areas like Verona. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone (except 18-30 type holiday makers!!!)

We stayed at this hotel 5- 13th june, My experience of the quality of service friendliness of all the staff can only be described as first class. The food we enjoyed and was very good and varied I felt like part of a family and things just fit into place effortlessly Both the management and staff were more than helpful. I would definitely stay again. It made a good holiday in this beautiful town well worth it. (highly recommended)
Wonderful holiday
We returned on the 27th May after spending a fabulous weeks holiday at Villa Mulino. We can do no more than echo the previous reviewers comments. There was nothing we could fault and Piero and his staff couldn't do enough for you,and the fact that most of the other guests we spoke to had been there several times says it all.It is one of the best hotels we have stayed at,and we shall be going back..
Absolutely Superb
This was an outstanding holiday and the hotel staff went to great lengths to meet every wish. Nothing was too much trouble - the atmosphere in the hotel was happy, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the rooms were great and the owner/cum entertainer/receptionist/advisor/magician simply could not have been more helpful. For one person to provide so much each and every day of our stay was amazing. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and been given variable service, but this was unsurpassed and I would recommend it to anyone and would go again. I have read a negative review of this hotel around the same time that we were staying and I simply do not recognise what was said. It was not our experience, nor the many others with whom we talked during our stay there. Thank you Piero - you are a star and many many thanks for your unfailing energy and enthusiasm. You are a credit to the Italian Tourist trade.
Excellent Hotel!!!!
We stayed at the Hotel Villa Mulino for a week in May. Excellellent Hotel!!!!! The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was really EXCELLENT!!! The menu was always varied and super! The entertainment in the evenings is great : every evening something to do . We recommend this hotel : an absolutely excellent holiday!!!!!!
Recommended without hesitation...
A great big 'THANK YOU' to Piero (Manager/ Owner/ Multi-Tasker), Donatella at reception, Silvana in the restaurant, Simone and Sivatore at the bars and "ALL" the other staff for a wonderful + relaxing holiday stay. (Was VERY surprised with the previous review as my wife and I found this to be one of the FEW holidays / hotels we would ever return to - unquestionably). :-) :-) :-) Excellent food, Quality wines and great help on tap (Beers :-) ) ... and an offer to sit and eat 'well after the stated times' - no pressure whatsoever... Very friendly staff, Very knowledgeable and all genuinely very helpful. A very professional and well run / friendly family Hotel with excellent facilities close to but not bothered by noise of the resort. A good safe level walk to the town centre from two exits off the hotel with ease of access to bus station. Lots of (good quality) entertainment in-house if you want it, but no pressure if you decide to go out for the evening and good info / recommendations where to go also. RECOMMENDED - and quite clear why folk are on their 15th - 30th + year as returnee's etc etc.... we "will" also return.... RECOMMENDED :-) "Thank you again" xxx
Wouldnt stay again
May 2007 We found the hotel clean, staff were pleasant. My complaint was about the food served for the evening meal. Awful. If i served that to a dog in England i would be had up for cruelty. Main course: Asparagus & 2 Fried Eggs, another was platter of mixed cheese. We had the same soup twice in 3 days, though the owner did say they were different potatoes!!!! Chocolate moose or apple strudel 2 days running. The manager did say that we could have any choice we wanted, but as another holidaymaker had asked for a boiled egg for breakfast it was to cost him 1 Euro & 50C, for one. We ate out after that
