We went to the Villa Mulino in April 2008 with Shearings.
Great food, great room, friendly staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
If I had a gripe, and it would be only one, it would be that the shower cubicle was TINY!!!!
If we get the chance, we'd definitely stay here again.
PS Unless you're a Formula One or Rally Driver, DON'T book a hire car to get around. Driving on the Autostrada is one of the scariest things I have ever done!!!!

We booked this hotel for a week through Shearings. We had wonderful time .The staff were 1st class.Food was good and well served by the all smiling Sylvanna and co. Peiro the owner runs his hotel very efficiently and is very friendly. Rooms are very clean-bed even turned down at night. Peiro does the evening entertainment and plays a mean tune on the saxaphone.Garda was stunning helped by the lovely weather we had that week . Also the other guests who booked the same holiday became great friends and every night was party night. We will definatly be going back-cant wait. Big Al and Louise from East Lothian Scotland.

Just returned from Hotel Mulino in Garda, Lake Garda. I went with 3 friends aged between 30-50. I would very much like to recomend the hotel and the town of Garda, despite pre-conceptions that it would be full of elderly folk this was completly wrong! The age group there was from young couples, families and some older folk that were on there 15th return visit!! The hotel is lovely, clean and family run. Peiro the manager and Simone the bar man put in 100% in making our stay as comfortable as possible as did all the other staff.
I would recommend a trip to Venice (59euros) it really takes your breath away and is like being on a film set. We also did the Lake Tour (40 euros) afantastic value for money and you get to see the whole of the lake and some of the prettiest lake side towns. The scenery is spectacular and the ride through the Musolini tunnels is really something else!
The Italian people are friendly, the food is fab and the wine fantastic (try the local Bardolino).
We walked to Bardolino (3km) which is great to get off thoes 'pasta-pounds' and a level promonade but watch out for thoes fit 70 yr olds on their bikes!!
We will definately return here again, maybe in a year or two!

Have been to this hotel six times now and definitely intend to return. It is situated a short walk from the lakeside and small village of Garda and although quite small (44 bedrooms) it does have an outdoor swimming pool and terrace bar.
One of the reasons for our return is the friendliness and efficiency of the owner/manager Piero and his staff most of whom have been with him for many years and they go out of their way to ensure you have a really good holiday.
If you travel with a travel agent they will have trips available to go to places such as Venice, Milan, and Verona etc. While these do represent good value they are quite regimented and I would suggest that you consider using the public transport.
The bus terminus is just 100 yards from the entrance to the drive of the hotel and you can get a bus directly to Verona or a bus to Peschiera train station and then a train to Venice or Milan.
The hotel manager can give you cards for reduced bus fares. There are also the battellis (boats) which go back and forth across the lake. Like the buses they are cheap and leave on time and there are some really beautiful places to see.
Recommend Sirmione, Malcesine (take the cable car up Monte Baldo) Peschiera and Gardone Riveria for a start but there are many more.
