We have just come back from Turkey and this hotel was excellent value. The position was great (quiet location but not far from the beach and bars) and the rooms were very clean. The staff were friendly and we would recommend this hotel. The bed was very comfy (firm but not too hard as can often be the case in Turkey). There is a pleasant sitting area with bar and pool, turkish breakfast was fine.
Also the Thursday market starts at the next street.
Whoever has written those nasty comments must've had a grudge - and the 'street dog' referred to was a lovely mut from the house across the street.
You want good value? Summer Bay is for you. Anne and Nick, Newcastle

Yes basic, and exactly what I expected for the price that I paid. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, any issue was dealt with by the manager straight away. There was a problem with a trip that we booked at the travel agents, the manager drove there himself and sorted it ,(not booked with hotel or rep) excellent service.
The hotel is idealy situated as it is in a quiet area, but a shot walk to the beach, bars, and shops. There is more than one bus route available at the end of the road, bus into Marmaris centre(5 min ride), bus into Ichmeler (10 mins).
Within walking distance there are lots of restaurants including Turkish, Chineese and Indian.
Thanks to all for a great holiday!

The Summer Bay hotel is a typical basic 2 star B and B but it is very clean
, the staff are very helpful and friendley Jay and James especialy. The pool was very clean and quite warm (till we had a thunder storm ). The shower was hot and a constant temperature, just what you need after a hard day sunbathing. The hotel is in a quiet location just off the main road you can walk into the center in about 20 minutes or catch a dolmus.

Me & my boyfriend stayed at the Summer Bay Hotel for a week at the begining of September. I would agree that the hotel is very basic but for the price you pay to stay there you cant expect nothing more. I found that the hotel was very close the beach and clubs and there was plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and the bar staff kept us entertained and made us feel welcome. Clean towels and bedding was given throughout our stay aswell.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

I can't believe how some people can be so rude and spiteful!
(Am writing this as a real holiday maker that stayed here, not related to anyone that works here or a girlfriend of any of the staff!)
Me and my sister came here and had a fab time we wished that we had stayed for two weeks! Everyone that worked there was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to help you or make our stay there memorable they all worked very hard! The lads behind the bar Jay, Spike and James were very friendly and not sleazy as it has been said in some of the reviews that have been put on here they couldn't do enough to help us! The rooms were spotlessly clean and the maid came in everyday to clean them we also had clean towels every day! The reception area was also very clean and the staff that was on there were very friendly too! The pool area was very well looked after and the pool was very clean! Was only up for breakfast one morning and that was only because we never went to bed! But the turkish breakfast was very fresh! Any other day we ordered a cooked breakfast or snack from the bar which was always very hot and fresh! All the other people that was there at the same time as us all seemed to be having a great time! That much that me and my sister are planning on going again next year in may to meet them, and hopefully in the summer for two weeks with the rest of the family on the condition that its the same staff there as they really did make our holiday! Haven't stopped raving about it since we got back!
Take care, stay in touch and well see you next year
Love
Jem and Steph

Well where do I start ? the place is disguisting and I find it hard to believe the tour operators actually send people here. I have stayed in some very basic accommodation in the past having backpacked the world for two years but have never come across such a place as Summer Bay. On arrival we were put into an attic room which happens to be the staff quarters, our room had loose wires hanging out of the very low ceiling, cold water day and night, only one working plug socket, the bathroom stank of blocked drains and the room was generally very grubby ( not what you expect from a package holiday). We did ask our rep if we could move hotels ( several other groups of guests had asked as well) but unfortunately due to the high season there were no vacancies. After several days we moved rooms and the next room was slightly better but again grubby. We forgot to take our towels from the first room and were told they didn't have any as they were all wet so we had to use our hand towel for two days while the other towels were drying.
The staff were very sleazy and the manager was quite frankly very rude and moody. We returned one day to find our patio door wide open after the cleaner had forgotten to close the door ( fortunately nothing was missing).
The breakfast was the same each day but was edible ( although the local street dogs turned there noses up at the meat).
Believe me I am most certainly not the complaining type but please don't visit this place everyone staying there was unhappy and although it's only a place to rest your head it's not nice to enter or wake up in such surroundings. To say the atmosphere was bleak would be an understatement!! Again ID kept anon due to staffs threatening behaviour and the fact they still have a copy of my passport.

Again i am refusing to give my name as you can all see the reply from hotel management regarding unfavourable rewiews...not a very proffesional response!
Well on with my review, i have just returned from a weeks holiday at what is described as a hotel and what should be called a hostel. Within 15 mins of arriving my friend had been hit upon by a bar man, (they all tried during our stay) even though their fiancee has written reviews on how wonderful the place is....do they think that we dont have a brain to see this!? First the acceptable.....
The room was clean on arrival, we had clean sheets so it isnt all bad (i am trying to be balanced). Our room was facing away from the road so was nice and quiet...breakfast was fine, just a simple turkish spread, but fresh every day, although bigger cups would be an improvment (the present ones are espresso size!). The location isnt bad, just up from the main road and about 10 mins to the beach so near to everywhere but away from the noise.
NOW THE GENUINE BAD THINGS!!
Some of the staff were just sleazy, the hotel can feel like 2 places sometimes...when the manager was in the restaurant or at the bar the atmosphere was relaxed and the bar staff worked. During the day when he wasnt the bar staff used their energy on the females around the pool so you could be waiting 25 mins for a drink. Manager was polite, "work like a dog" james was fantastic and reception guy did what he could to help. Other staff were rude!
The room DID have faulty wiring and was a little grim. The shower WAS dirty and looked like the tiling was done by Stevie Wonder. Not the standard of even a 2* hotel. Meals were ok but we only had one as we didnt like the atmosphere at the bar...if you dont eat or drink there then after 2 days they dont want to know you!
The only reason we stayed was because the holiday company wanted another 300 pounds to move us. We saw our rep on the first day but she just wanted to sell us trips (you can buy them at many tour shops along the main road for less!!).
To anyone thinking of booking here...DONT!! read the reviews and use your brain...how can someone genuine write a review in January when the hotel is closed for winter!
Would we stay again? not in this lifetime...not even sure they know we are home.. only James said goodbye, room could still be festering!!
Stay away

I have chosen not to put my real name as from looking at other reviews things can get a little personal with response from hotel staff and they still have a photocopy of my passport!!
Well where do I start with telling you the truth about this place.
I spent a year travelling around the world staying in backpackers accommodation in countries such as India and Thailand where this standard of accommodation was acceptable. However, I really didn't expect to be spending what was meant to be a relaxing weeks holiday in a place like this. Quite frankly the rooms are dangerous - wires hanging from ceiling and walls, rusted balcony bars which look like they would crumble if you touch them, cold showers, stinky bathrooms (and i mean stinky!), no ceiling in part of room and a hole above the beams into the next room. Air-con was £4 extra a night and it only had 1 setting so the choice was to freeze or boil.
Reception staff were not very helpful and in fact rather moody. They were funny about you taking water back to the room if you had not purchased it from them - they were charging £1.50 for a small bottle when you could get a large bottle from the local shop for 50p.
We spoke to a few other English guests and they all felt the same so it wasn't just us and I have never been one to complain. We had a few people from outside the hotel tell us that the owners were getting people to write good reviews for them so I guess it's up to you to judge for yourself but don't say that nobody warned you!!

this is a genuine review and not one made up by staff or some young girl who has been chatted up by a bar member.summer bay hotel was the third hotel i was giving by goldtrail(who are the real cowboys)but although only told that day that we were arriving two rooms where ready for us,so ok the rooms are basic, and could do with a few screws being re-ajusted and granted the view from the balcony is not picturesque but if u want to go and sit on the balcony for two weeks then pay an extra £500 pound and book a sea view hotel.the staff are very friendly and will do anything for you. jay the barman is great fun spike the hippy is just so laid back he is almost horizontal and jim and especially james although there english are not as great are always smiling.(do not be offended by some of james' english cos i tought him some good old scottish sayings)
On the last night while awaiting our transfer our coach(yeslin dilyan a.k.a cowboy bus tours) was very late and the manager of the hotel done everthing to make sure we got picked up. as for the person who wrote about them not being happy if you didnt stay in the complex these are the same ones who come home drunk at 4 a.m and expect the bar to be open(which it usually is).breakfast is very basic and please go back to letting customers make there own tea. my room was cleaned every day and the maids where very pleasant

Just returned from a 2 week holiday staying at the Summerbay. For a 2 Star Hotel we found the accommadation excellent, very clean and spacious. All Staff were brilliant, nothing ever too much trouble and always smiling, dancing and generally making sure all hoteliers were having a good time. We will be recommending this hotel too our friends and will defientely be returning in the near future. Make sure you have lots of Bacardi and Dark Efes for our return, haha. Thank you to everyone for making our holiday one too remember. Love to you all, Bernie & Jimmy xxx

We thought the hotel was fine for what we payed for it , the staff were great Spike Jay & James were very welcoming and would do anything for you even take your luggage upstairs for you. Spike arranged to take my daughter Chloe for a tattoo for a very good price. Kind James ecorted us everywhere on buses,to the waterparks and more. Jay was fun bubbly and always having a laugh with you he dosn't stop dancing haha, Spike is also very cool my son James never put his top-hat down he also allowed him behind the bar to show him how to make cocktails,he blended in well. The rooms were fine theirs a bed for sleeping and a shower for washing what more do you need?, their are alot of other places to visit within the area anyway. The pool was brilliant the water was clean and its a resonable size :) Its also cheap.
Thanks again boys for making the holiday fun we hope come back soon
Tina , Chloe & James xxx
