A poor 2* hotel

"This has to be the worst '4*' hotel I have had the misfortune to stay in. Only 1 bar was open and there were invariably more flies on it than guests around it. There is no lounge so if you are a lone female traveller the options available in the evening are 1) sit on a bar stool with a torn plastic seat at the outside bar together with flies and deafening music or 2) sit in your room watching TV with erratic reception or 3) sit at a dirty plastic table close to a pool on the grass and be bitten to death. As for the food - suffice to say I existed on watery yoghurt, soup and toast losing over 2kilos in weight. The area around where the 'chef' cooked the breakfast eggs and pancakes was filthy, floor and walls coated in obviously old fat - any public health inspector would immediately close it down. The staff do their best in the circumstances but hygene is not a word I associate with this hotel. The cleaners use 1 toilet brush to clean 18 rooms - little wonder so many guests went down with stomach and related problems. The manager claims he will be implementing improvements - my advice is to wait until they have been done before setting foot in the place.

I could go on but I hope you get the drift........

Never never stay here!!!!!

"I stayed 1 night at the Viking and this was not out of choice, it was because our flight was canelled and we were put up there.

from 1st clance it looks like a brothel (not a good one at that), the reception is very small and a a dirty cream colour.

when we entered our room it was too hot, and the aircon was blowing out warm air so it made it even worse.

There was grit everwhere, a dirty ash tray , The beds and sofa were meant to be a green colour but were faded and brown, "White" towels were grey with brown stains on them, i could not come to terms with staying in the room so i made my way down to the bar , where i stayed until i was too tired to stay up anymore. When i got back to the room i kept my clothes on and layed on top of the bed for only 3 hours, in that time i recieed 71 FLEA BITES on my left leg ( ankle to knee) and 4 days after i still have them.

I WOULD ADISE THAT NO ONE STAYS AT THIS HOTEL AT ALL

go somewhere else

"i booked this holiday with travel republic when we got there our mouths dropped at the state of the room. travel republic stated pool or garden view we got a building site a balcony or terrace we got 2 bars on the window full of dead flies. wi fi connection (no) free safe (no) satellite tv (no).well we thought we only need a bed to sleep as we will be out most of the time but when we woke up we both had insect bites. the breakfast was rubbish. the good bits the grounds of the hotel were nice all the staff were very polite namma bay is a great night out. would go again but not to the viking i have a saying you get what you pay for now i know it,s true.to cap it all off travel republic said free transfers it is going but not coming back."

Cheap and Cheerful

"If you want a resort with every facility under the sun then don't go here BUT if like us you want a basic base but good location for a good price this is the place for you

You've pretty much just got 2 small (but nice and clean) pools - for the small number of guests (130 rooms) its more than adequate. We never had to reserve our beds but sat at the same 2 for the whole 2 weeks we had here ! There is a regular shuttle bus to the hotel's beach if you like the sand and coral although this isn;t in naama bay - (but only a 15 minute ride)

You are only a 10 minute walk away from Naama Bay centre which was the major plus point for us - never ate at the hotel other than breakfast as we like to sample the local nightlife (and we drove past a lot of hotels that you'd have to get a taxi from) the walk in is a lot more comfortable at night (with more than enough great restaurants to eat in a different one each night for 2 weeks - ) The only downside being a busy road to cross (Egyptians don't seem to notice the zebra crossing by the main drag into naama bay - but it never took us more than a couple of minutes to cross really!)

Rooms are UK Travelodge standard, (and thats reflected by the price you can stay here for) are cleaned every day - and even have DOUBLE beds (not 2 singles pushed together like most places abroad) our first room was adequate but didn't have a safe (which we prefer to use on any holiday - no great worries about sharm or this resort) but staff were helpful and happy to move us to one with a safe the next day

Don't expect 4 star for the price you are paying - its a comfortable 3+ star (from experience in the past egyptian ratings are about 1 star above ours anyway) but think of what you can spend the money you've saved on instead - Another Sakarra (beer) anyone!

Lamb dressed as mutton!

"Arrived in the evening and to be honest, was very dissapainted in what i so. looks like a tacky nightclub from the road, reception is very basic with very little info and first glance of the whole complex was dissapointing. how my views were about to change!!

got to the triple room which was one big double room, a living room with tv, sofa and bed setee. a washing up area and an adequetly sized bathroom. sunrise showed the complex's true colours! 2 beautiful swimming pools (one with swim up bar i must add), a fine housekeeper who got us anything we wanted includng a kettle and a fridge! and the fact that we were only a 5 minute walk from naama bay!

bar service was a little slow, breakfast needed and aquired taste and an annoying guy trying to sell u something from the 'hotel shop' everytime u left or entered but appart from that, would probably go back!

Great Visit

"This is a new place so there were not many reviews about this place before me and 3 other mates booked. However once we got there it was really nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. We even met the hotel owner who was a rich but nice guy, the room service is excellent and the 2 pools makes it more than conveniant and spacious. Also it is only about 10 min walk from the main naama marina bay. 5/5

Enjoyed the Stay

"The Hotel 'worked' for us on our diving holiday with Cardiff Scuba. Being relatively recently built the rooms were in good condition, bed comfortable, shower (no bath) excellent, air con good, quiet location, but only 10mins walk down a hill to Naama Bay. We sampled the evening buffet just once and could not recommend it, but loads of eating opportunities in Naama. Breakfast was more than adequate. Our tummies were okay all trip.

One pool was heated and pool side bar was lively - avoid having a room beside this if you want early nights & starts to go diving. Bar prices quite high. sakara gold was about £1.80 a bottle. There is a cool roof top bar as well.

Just outside the grounds there are two banks with cashpoints (one is HSBC) and a convenience store that is open 24*7 for buying the essentials (e.g. water )

Very disappointed in this hotel -...

"Very disappointed in this hotel - certainly did not deserve a 4* rating on my experience. Building was poorly finished and rooms were basic - no-ones fridge worked, the safe was portable! balcony just had room for one chair, no tea or coffee making facilities, etc. Breakfast was OK but evening meals very poor - buffet with little variety, meat chewy, food cold. Staff were OK. Entertainment was variable. There are much better 4* hotels in Sharm el Sheikh, and hotels of 3* or even 2* which are just as good - check out the Ocean Club for real value or the Iberotel Place for proper 4* comfort"

Worth a visit

"Not luxurious but clean and comfortable although it did not

bother my wife or I this hotel at present caters for predominately

Italians The buffet meals were adequate but to be honest with two exceptions we only ate breakfast preferring to eat out, The hotel is not far from the centre of Naarma Bay and all it has to offer yes we did get a certain amount of hassle but if you take it in

good spirit and politely refuse its parrt of the general atmosphere
