The Alexis is a bit outdated, but the package overall was worth the small amount we paid for it. The staff were very friendly especially the young lady in charge of entertainment and the bar staff.
The rooms were adequate and clean although the walls seem very thin, it’s not the best thing to hear someone on the toilet the other side of the wall to you’re headboard at 2 am in the morning!
However the major, major I repeat major failing of the hotel is the absolute lack of security, which if you compound this with the quality of lots of the guests leads to some very volatile situations.
Question: While I was away did someone shut down Blackpool or leave the back door open at Wakefield prison?
Only it seemed that if they did every body came and stayed in the Alexis! I feel the tour operator might have told us of the choices a bit better, had we known that there are three night packages arranged here, we may have realized that there could be stag and hen parties and tobacco runners a plenty staying in the hotel, all of which enter the bar at 10am and by 10pm are ready for their first fight of the day, some started earlier, I imagine they couldn’t pass on some opportunities!
All that said we also met loads of lovely normal people and made lots of friends that we intend to stay in touch with.
We were actually in the majority, it’s just that we were certainly the quieter group of the two.
So if you fancy an adventure, with plenty of food and drink, you will find everything you want here, I would certainly go back, but only as part of a stag party?

Not up to standard and not for elderly or children. Lifts breaking down every two days.
Rooms small but clean. Food not great, but some people are easy to please.
Watch out for rep, not very nice. Would not like to send my mother or grandmother there. Bar staff pleasant, roof top pool not for children.
Smell from drains gets in to rooms and would make you sick.

After a 2 and half hour journey from the airport by coach, we were dumped on the main road and told to walk up a hill, we wondered what we had let ourselves in for. Arriving at reception it reminded us strongly of Fawlty towers, and unfortunately on arrival at our room our worst fears where confirmed! Someone should tell management fabric went out of fashion in the 70's!
The room was very basic, and cramped, however they were clean and there was maid service every day, fresh towels, and fresh linen. The food was what you would expect, rather Spanish, not great if you are looking for traditional British fare but it was edible, and there was enough choice for most, although I believe children may struggle with the menu. The pool was also very small and it was rooftop sunbathing so I would not recommend this hotel for children.
However on a positive note, the staff where very friendly, whilst basic it was very clean, and I would recommend this hotel to a younger clientele who wish to use the hotel as a base, and take advantage of the unlimited supply of alcohol all inclusive provides. If you are over 25 take advantage of the alcohol to numb the pain!

After reading the reviews we were dreading going here, however it wasn't as bad as expected. The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Food was ok, but we were only there for 4 days so we could cope with it, though have to admit we wouldn't have fancied eating there for any longer. You can however use any of the hotels in the chain and there's even a free shuttle bus.
We had a good laugh, value for money and would go back.

When I arrived I thought we had walked into the wrong hotel. It was tiny I remembered looking around and thinking surely it must be bigger. We were put in a room facing out to a brick wall after complaining to the moody receptionist she agreed to give us another room.
The decor could not have been more depressing. The bar staff were lovely really friendly and so were the cleaning maids. The food was ok, a lot of choice not your typical gourmet cuisine but for the price you can’t complain.
After the initial shock of arriving we had a really good time. Oh ya we couldn’t swim in the swimming pool as there was a wall blocking the sun getting to it so it was freezing so unless you go smack bang in the middle of the summer don’t plan on being in there a lot.
If you have already booked this hotel don’t worry a holiday is what you make it.

I can’t believe how negative people can be about this hotel, granted its not the Ritz but a small basic 3 star hotel which is spotlessly clean and well air conditioned throughout. The previous reviewer stated that the food was like a prisons, I would love to know what prison serves food as nice as this.
The trouble is with some people is that they want five star buffets for 3 star prices. The hotel has a small clientele so providing too much choice wouldn’t be cost effective due to waste etc. what there was ample enough meat, fish pasta and salads were provided as was fresh fruit. The puds were exactly the same as other hotels I’ve stayed in but not too bad. You could return to the buffet as often as you liked.
The hotel was great for my party of 3 adults and the room was cramped we politely asked at the desk if there was anything larger and were given a room the same size but because of the different layout it appeared roomier. Anyway it was somewhere to dress wash and sleep. The hotel is really no good for young families as there is no pool area although there is a small pool on the roof terrace. Also elderly and people with walking difficulties might struggle as the hotel is on an incline. The staff were wonderful from the cleaners to the management and tried really hard to please everyone. I would advise people to talk to the staff as you would wish to be talked to because they appreciate it so much.
I witnessed a gentleman (British) lay down the law at breakfast because the fried eggs were a little crispy around the edges. For heavens sake get a life! We came to this hotel to be central to everything that is outside of it. And we enjoyed it so much we are booking to come back again in the spring.

I cried when we arrived at this hell hole! We have a 10 month old baby and we were put in a room that faced out on a brick wall. We asked where the cot was and we were told they had no record of an infant being with us?
After calling the rep (great help she was - not) the receptionist finally moved us to a room where we could actually fit a cot. The hotel is on a busy road and the noise levels were horrible! As for the food, my god it was like being in prison! We were only aloud certain drinks on all inc and the glasses were more like egg cups. I would not recommend anyone with children to go to this hotel.
The bar staff were the only good thing about that place. Good Luck if you stay here. You may want to think about booking another holiday for when you return, your going to need it!

Well, I actually went to hotel Alexis for my 18th birthday with a couple of friends. Was quite worried after hearing all of these bad reviews, but we went for it anyways. When we arrived the hotel looked reasonably okay, as u entered into the reception area you began to feel more confident.
Everything was acceptable at this hotel, but people who worked there were great fun! It’s now coming up to my 19th birthday and me and my friends are going again! I would recommend this holiday to a lot of people. The beach is only a 2 minute walk and plenty of shops if you need them. Definitely worth going all inclusive as well, not needing to worry about money for the next drink. lol.
Well I’m very happy I went, and can’t wait to go back in 3 months.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean, that's the good points. The hotel is too small, the bar /lounge, children’s entertainment, games were all in the same function room, so if you want peace and quiet this is not the hotel for you.
Kids are left to run around all hours of the day and night and the week I spent there was particularly noisy. All traffic uses the road outside the hotel as a short cut and the air con doesn't work in most of the rooms. The food isn't great same choice day in day out. Fortunately you are allowed to visit the other hotels in the chain so we did just that.
I'll never go to this hotel again and I certainly wouldn't recommend it!

When my husband booked this over the internet for myself and my mum to have a week in the sun, the Alexis looked great, close to the beach and shops etc. Because I use a wheelchair and my mum is 66 we thought the Alexis would be nice and central.
Well when we got to the hotel we found it was up a slope and no facilities for the disabled. Now my husband had told Medinland about me being disabled and my mum being 66 & according to them there was nothing in their literature about Hotel Alexis that it wasn't suitable for the disabled.
Well we still enjoyed our week, the staff in the hotel did all they could for us & made our stay as comfortable as possible. We will be back to Lloret de Mar but we won't be touching Medinland with a bargepole! They don't even have a rep in Lloret to deal with any problems & their contact no. in London is a premium rate number which costs a fortune because you could be put on hold for ages before you speak to anyone.
It might cost a wee bit extra but I’ll be using a travel agent in the high street from now on.

I have just come back from a weeks holiday at hotel Alexis we went on the 1/4/06 and came back on the 8/4/06.
HOTEL: the hotel was nice and clean but was very noisy at night with French and German kids on school trips over the Easter holiday.
ROOMS: the room was basic it was cleaned every day and it wasn’t small but wasn’t big the only complaint I had about the room was the bath, it was tiny couldn’t even sit in it.
POOLS: the downstairs pool was small but clean. It didn’t stop the young kids going in it nor me. The upstairs pool was for the babies and the 2 Jacuzzi’s was great.
STAFF: The staff at the hotel were very friendly and always had a laugh.
FOOD: I wasn’t a fan of the food but my partner and my mum and her partner seemed to like it. I thought the food was the same over and over again.
ENTERTAINMENT: there was no entertainment at all because when we went they were in peak season so the entertainment only started on the 8/4.
We went to the other hotels witch were great we stayed at the royal beach last year and it was lovely.
I would go back to hotel Alexis but only if it was a weekend holiday.

After reading the terrible reviews of this hotel, I was very worried about going here for my summer holiday with my friend.
On arriving at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised, we were expecting a hell hole! The reception area and bar are quite small, but are clean, cool and comfortable. The staff were very friendly however, some of the younger male staff were very arrogant!
The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable, couldn't complain.
The hotel is very noisy at all times of the day and night so, if you are looking for a quiet time this is not the place to go.
The food is very acceptable although a bit repetitive. There was always nice pasta and salad available. Drinks were served in very small glasses but you can just keep going back for more!
The pool is pathetic but the Jacuzzis on the roof are great for chilling out in.
There were a lot of children running about unsupervised and some were very badly behaved and rude.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Alexis. We were sick of the sight of the food and drink by the end of it though! The hill you have to walk up to get to it is a killer but good exercise. This hotel was very cheap and you definitely get what you pay for. Don't expect to get star treatment but it's a good base to sleep and eat in.
