Having read various reviews about this hotel after we booked it we were really worried, however the Alexis is absolutely spotless.
Rooms are cleaned and the beds made daily.
Staff were polite and friendly. Food was basic and mainly Spanish but it was always possible to get something you liked, our only gripe about the food was it wasn’t very hot.
As our weeks stay was only £250 each we feel it was really good value and we would definitely return.

We booked this holiday for a quiet...
2 / 10
Nov 2007, Mr M Buck

We booked this holiday for a quiet relaxing break for myself & my partner. Neither of us had had a holiday for the last 10 years.
OK, we should have checked, but the week we chose was the same week that Glasgow Rangers was playing Barcelona! We arrived on the Sunday to find the hotel was full of Scottish football supporters.
Not necessarily a problem, but, as our room was on the first floor & over the bar/entertainments room, we were serenaded into the wee small hours by the footballing fraternity. Then treated to shouted conversations from one end of the hotel to the other for most of the rest of the night.
Add to this the bathroom that we shared with around 300 ants, food that would have been better suited to the local farmyard animals, and the rule: ‘THOU SHALT NOT TAKE TEA OR COFFEE TO YOUR ROOM’, made this hotel option possibly not the best of choices.
We requested to be moved to a different room at the other end of the hotel due to the noise with varying promises and reasons for not being moved dependent on which member of staff was on reception.
The Monday night was when we discovered that the beer store for the hotel was at the end of our corridor.
After our nightly football style serenade and shouted discussions on how Rangers were going to do on Wednesday, the hotel staff rolled beer kegs along the tiled corridor past our room at 2.00am.
The next morning we requested a transfer to a different hotel. We were told to come back at 2.00pm. At 2.00pm. We were told to come back at 5.00pm. At 5.00pm. We were told that the manager hadn’t arrived yet, but by waiting in reception, we finally got our transfer.

Don’t get me wrong, the resort itself is a great place for an out of season break. The locals are friendly, the food (outside the hotel) superb & the weather was excellent.
My advice is:-
1. Check the football fixtures BEFORE booking!
2. Only choose the Hotel Alexis if you don’t mind the resident wildlife.

Let’s get it into perspective....
5 / 10
Oct 2007, Mr A J Bowell

Let’s get it into perspective. Lloret is a boisterous resort that borders on being vulgar, so if you are looking for a sedate holiday or a quiet time think again.
The H-top Alexis has to deal with customers who come to enjoy this type of environment in a rough and ready way and I am afraid this shows in the condition of the place.
Rooms although basically clean are in need of redecoration. Our room had a wardrobe door that had been roughly repaired with two nails half bashed in, beds that were well worn with springs poking through and a vanity unit sink base in the bathroom that was just about to disintegrate.
There is also the famous by now slatted cupboard door that covers a ventilation shaft entry, a must for nosy people who want to listen to their neighbours business and a source of occasional funny smells.
The rooms overall had a fusty, rather cigarette smoke, tired and worn smell, unfresh rather than unclean. The cleaning ladies were not English speaking but were pleasant and ok.
The dining room was run by a guy who looked and acted like Manuel from Fawlty towers who was obsessed with time keeping. Any starving punter who dared to be a minute later than the required times set down for meals was going to be in for a disappointment as Manuel was on his starting blocks to whisk away the uneaten food several minutes before the official cut off point.
The plates on occasion were less than sparkling and often not dry and the food for breakfast was put out the night before at 8.45pm probably so it could mature overnight. Also there were no hot plates for those wanting hot meals.
The first three or four days brought a weary menu although just about passable, contained nothing to be heartily enjoyed. We then had a visit from someone who looked like he had some authority, who sampled the limp cuisine and miraculously the whole standard of food improved and could even be described as good on a couple of occasions.
I must at this point warn anyone who wears sandals to be very careful not to drop a bread roll on their foot as this could do serious damage.
The roof contains two Jacuzzi type things and small pool or pigeon traps as we laughingly called them.
We never used the bar as it seemed to be full of drunken idiots fully enjoying the cabaret that consisted of people doing native dancing and singing Neil Diamond songs badly.
The hotel is situated next to a derelict boarded up building. I would have thought that with a bit of imagination somebody could come up with some haunting tours or murder mystery nights.
Overall the whole place needs a makeover and a damn good sort out, still what tales to tell your mates when you get home.

DON’T GO, DON’T GO! When we...
1 / 10
Oct 2007, Miss E Manton

DON’T GO, DON’T GO!
When we checked in we went up to our room only to find that it had not been cleaned or made up from previous guests. We then had to wait several hours for it to be cleaned. Then that evening we found that the ceiling in the bathroom leaked.
The staff were very unconcerned and said that someone would fix it. Two days passed and then the bedroom ceiling started to crake! Water was then running down the wall into the plugs and all over the beds.
At reception they were not concerned and I had to fight to change rooms. The room we were moved to was small smelly and the balcony overlooked a block of high rise flats.
The food is terrible. It’s always fish, beef and chicken. The waitress actually spat at us one evening. The restaurant staff are very rude and rush you. The food is always cold and tasteless. We paid for all inclusive but ate out most of the time.
Bar staff are great very funny and polite.
The swimming pool is cold and dirty you cannot fit a chair around the edge. The roof terrace is nice with 2 Jacuzzi and a kid’s pool, lots of sunbeds and a bar, but this was closed.
This hotel is also on a very steep hill!
This hotel needs shutting down. Don’t go because this put such a downer on our holiday. Lloret is a lovely place and would go back to area. This hotel doesn’t even deserve 1 star!

Please read this review - It will help you alot!
Well where to start? I really don’t know!
When I and my mum booked this hotel, we were very scared after reading the reviews- not only on this site but others as well. The first thing I can say is I’m so glad we booked it because we very nearly didn’t.
The hotel itself is situated perfectly! The beach is 5 minutes down the road along with lots of different restaurants from Chinese to Mexican (So something for everyone). There are plenty of shops to have a look around in and the nightlife is about a 10 minute walk. There are so many pubs and clubs to choose from and if you shop around, you can pay very little for a decent night out. I recommend the 'Zoo' and 'St Trop' but there are plenty of others to choose from that suit anyone’s tastes of music and environment.
The hotel rooms were basic but kept extremely clean (which is all you really need). We were also sceptical about the safety of the hotel because many people said that their rooms had been broken into. Well, there’s a simple answer to that- pay to use the safe while you stay- its only 18 euros to use it for a week and 10 euros deposit which you get back when you've finished using it. The biggest worry about going was the safety as it was just two women who hadn’t been alone on holiday before, but we both felt extremely safe and didn’t want to leave!
The rooftop terrace is also a good factor towards the quality of the hotel. The pool is small but there’s two jacuzzis to bump up the package! The roofs a great sun catcher and the bar also help especially when you’re all inclusive! The drinks are served in plastic glasses but that’s only to keep it safe around the pool. Also there is such a wide range of drinks- there’s always something for everyone to enjoy.
The staff were really good. The bar staff (including Terry) were such a laugh and got on well with everybody. The cleaners were polite and always cleaned the rooms well. The dining room staff were polite enough and kept the dining room clean, and the reception staff were very nice and would help you if there was a problem.
Altogether everything we thought was going to be bad, ended up being great. It’s not the best place for a family with young children but anyone other than that- its great!
I enjoyed it so much - I will definitely be back!

Me and my boyfriend booked this last...
6 / 10
Aug 2007, Miss L Moorhouse

Me and my boyfriend booked this last minute from teletext. When we first arrived we thought it looked a bit scruffy on the outside. When we walked in to the reception area we thought that it looked really nice. After checking in we went up to our room to have a look.
The room was small and overcrowded; the balcony was overlooking a main road with emergency fire exit and stairs leading down to the poolside and the derelict hotel. The bathroom was tiny, in the bathroom there was a small cupboard which if you looked you could see through the slates to the next room. We had some German people in the next room who were up partying most of the time.
The hotel staff were ok, but as a female I thought they were quite forward. The pool was very small with no sunloungers or space around it, and on the roof there were two jacuzzis with lots of sunloungers and a bar.
The food wasn’t great but we did eat out on most nights. All inclusive drinks were all the Spanish drinks and if you wanted a branded drink you had to pay. There wasn’t really any small family pubs it was mainly clubs and for all young people.
Overall we had a very good time and enjoyed it but got bored towards the end of the week.

Just returned, enjoyed flight both...

Aug 2007, Mr A Wilson

Just returned, enjoyed flight both ways with Flyglobspan. As for hotel would advise Globespan to remove from list as I rate it as a 1* hotel.
The room we got smelled of sewage, was dark, wardrobes were stinking ,decor was outdated and beds were like ex-army. Food was same every night; fish, pork, beef and did not cater for children.
Pool was a laugh as it was small and no room for any loungers or chairs and was constantly in the shade of hotels around it, roof pools were unclean as well, pigeons in the jacuzzi and pool. Bar chairs smelled of dampness, toilets were a disgrace balcony in room was unsafe.
Toilet had a vent which was shared with room next door and could hear them shouting next door as if they were in your room and you could also open it and bang the other one as we found out as occupants next door were trying to open ours. Anyway getting tired writing so all I will say is steer well clear of this hotel.

As some people have already said...
8 / 10
Jul 2007, Miss S Durrant

As some people have already said before me, you get what you pay for. This is a small 3 star hotel so there won't be a massive selection of food to choose from, but enough to have something different every day.
The main pool on the ground floor was nothing to write home about, but the sun terrace on the roof was great, you weren’t all squashed in and having the bar in the middle of the terrace was a good idea.
YES, the rooms were basic, but, as I've said, it's a small 3 star, they served their purpose and were kept clean everyday (my only complaint about the cleaners is that they kept separating the beds when they remade them!)
I found it a good idea to be able to "pop" into other hotels within the chain if you were all inclusive if you just fancied a little change of scenery or to have a drink or even arrange to stay at that hotel for the day

Overall, I generally found that the "more seasoned" holiday makers staying at the hotel were the ones who were moaning about the conditions, this was my first all inclusive and I was happy with the service provided.
I would not really recommend this hotel for young families as there isn't that much to offer for them and it is based quite high off the strip, yeah it's only a 5-10 minute walk down to the beach and the shops, but the walk back up again is a right beach!
The majority of the bar and reception staff were friendly and helpful enough, but the chef and his staff were unfortunately not as friendly. And a word of warning to all inclusive people, if you make it 23:57 on your watch and think you'll get a last drink, then think again, coz they'll make it 00:01 and WONT serve you, believe me, I know!
It wasn't really the drunken loutish brits that disturbed us at 3:30 am, it was the German and French students, but that only happened 2 nights out of 8, the other 6 nights it was us making the noise! (No it wasn't, a few nights we crept back in very quietly at about 3 am).

Basics of hotel Alexis is that it’s...
9 / 10
Jun 2007, Miss A Mullan

Basics of hotel Alexis is that it’s clean, tidy close to the beach and the streets leading to it are well lit. We (a group of three girls) stayed here for one week in June 07. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly especially at the bar and reception.
Restaurant staff's English was not as good and one particular member off staff stood waiting to pounce to lift your plate if you put your cutlery down for one second. Food was tasty if a little repetitive but you could always find something that you liked, the salads were particularly nice.
Bar was excellent venue for stating out on the town(recommend Moef Ga Ga and Tropics for later on)
Bedrooms were fairly small but beds were comfy and as long as you closed the bathroom door the noises from the other rooms were mainly blocked out.
If you fancy a cheap holiday and having a good time definitely give it a go.

Well what can I say, I had the best holiday that I ever had, and this hotel was out of this world. The rooms were very basic with 2 beds, bathroom, TV.
You get what you pay for it cost me and my friend £30 to say at this hotel for 5 nights as a last min deal.
All the staff were amazing, they would do anything to help you if you needed help.
They always made you feel good and worked very hard.
We met allot of people and got on well with everyone.
The food was great and the drinks were very good.
The bar staff were helpful and friendly.

Just got back from this hotel and it is the best holiday I have ever had! All the staff were extremely pleasant which made the holiday even more enjoyable.
Drinks measures are huge and you can have practically anything you would find at home, daily cocktails are also included in the all inclusive basis. The bar staff are extremely friendly.
Rooms are clean and maids come everyday to clean. Food is basic but nice with a choice of different fish and meats. Loved it so much we are going back next month!
