Well where do I start, it was...

Apr 2008, Miss Jolley

Well where do I start, it was horrendous:
We got to the Hotel was greeeted by drunken yobs. The first comment we got was to leave and go back as the hotel was very dirty, the staff were very ignorant and unhelpful.
Here I start, we was checking in the Hotel and unfotunately had no room for us. They then said they could transfer us to a 4 Star hotel but only for one night but we said not good enough. They then come up with another suggestion an transfered us to The Casino Royal Hotel for the weekend (they said it was a 3 star but was only a 2 star) and we made them pay for our Taxis.
Once we got to the new hotel the staff here at the Alexis hadn't told them we was coming across, so we had to mess about again ringing the Alexis.
Coming home the Alexis didn't tell the coach company we had moved hotels so on Sunday night we had no pickup (was coming home Monday morning). We rang the Alexis and all the ignorant staff kept doing was putting the phone down on us.
Believe me read the reviews because all these are true. I would never recommend this place!!!!!!!!

Apr 2008, Mr J.B. Stubbings

Not Recommended, must be the noisiest hotel in the world, with no escape unless you are out & about. Noise from bar, noise from bedrooms, paper thin walls, noise from corridors. Bedrooms not comfortable and curtains smelled of cigarette smoke, not good when you are a non smoker, Chambermaid service was excellent though. Food had to be heated in microwave as there isn't any hot plates, recommend eating out. Poor facilities in a very dated hotel. Hotel isn't big enough to cater for All Inclusive as that is the biggest contributor to the noise problem. Glad we were there for only three nights.

Mar 2008, Miss S Cook

When we arrived I was a bit dissapointed at the dated srcuffy look of the hotel, but I did only pay £183 for week all inc.The staff were friendly and helpfull, especially the bar staff. The room was very basic, but right above the bar.The bathroom backed on to next doors bathroom and were joined by a very large vent,so you could here each others conversations and all other sounds that you can make in a bathroom. The place was clean and it was cleaned eveyday. The beach is not far away, but it is on quite a steep hill, which I struggled with as I went a bit over the top on the local vodka on the 1st night and fell and injured my knee.Lovely little place with loads of shops and bars. The 2nd night the hotel was invaded by 64 scots on a stag weekend determind to make the most of the all inc bar.The next 4 nights in the bar felt like a working mans club in Glasgow, but if you can`t beat em ,join em.The food was ok.I must say I did enjoy the breakfasts.Lunch and dinner were a bit repetative (pork every night) and not very hot.My boyfriend and I preferred the snacks.Chips, burgers, hot dogs, bacon, etc.I definatly wouldn`t recommend for a quite break, but if you go with the flow,it`s definatly worth it for a cheapy holiday.

All I can say is I wish I had read...

Mar 2008, Mrs B Williams

All I can say is I wish I had read the reviews before booking my holiday! We have just come back from a 5 day break at the Alexis.
We arrived at 1.00am ish and were greeted by a drunk teenager welcoming us to '[-] central' (his words, not mine, but maybe he had a point!) whilst his mate was copping off with someone at the front of the hotel in full view-classy.
The room was OK although the balcony backed onto a derelict hotel and the bathroom had a vent which allowed every sound (especially arguing!) and smell to come into our room. Room was clean though.
Food was OK but we chose to eat out most nights.
Bar was OK, but again, didn't drink in there much. Noise levels were shocking at night, mainly due to alcohol fuelled arguments which involved lots of screaming and shouting and slamming of doors! Occasional argument I could cope with although all night, every night started to annoy me. Hotel staff didn't really care about the noise and never asked people to keep it down.
The resort itself is lovely and the restuarants and shops are fab. We would def go back to Lloret de Mar but would not stay at the Alexis again. If you want a cheap no frills holiday then this is fine. However, I wouldn't recommend a long stay there and I won't be recommending it to friends or family.

We read the reviews about this hotel...

We read the reviews about this hotel before we left and were quite worried about what we were going to! It is in need of a serious revamp and it felt like we were staying in a working mens club...... but....... you get what you pay for!! The food was very good and there was something for everyone! The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were cleaned every day. the pool area on the roof was adequate (though the pools are more like puddles). We stayed on the first floor above the bar and could hear every conversation, every song sung, every chair moved and thought it would be a worry but as we were in the bar at night and it closed at 12.00 pm it was ok! If you are going on holiday for a rest then i would not recommend this hotel but if you can go with the flow, like to enjoy yourself, and don't feel the need to complain all day, can communicate with all walks of life then am sure you won't be dissappointed here!

Jan 2008, Mrs K Fisher

I usually read these reviews and then dismiss them as just whinging miseries. However I seriously wish I had heeded the warnings about this hotel.
I booked this holiday late and cheap and thought the all inclusive price was good. That would have been true if you could eat the food. The choice was nil and what there was was basically awful, lukewarm and repetitive. For instance, the one night we had the option of fish, squid rings, pizza, and crisps! Yes it sank so low they could not even be bothered to cook some frozen chips.
The hotel itself is a throw back to the seventies and really needs updating. The balcony was a small square of concrete supported by two pieces of metal stuck out from the wall. Two people could just about squeeze onto it but I would not recommend this as the whole thing moved. The view was a brick wall so no point in going on the balcony to start with!
This hotel is obviously popular with alcoholics who spend their days propped at the bar and their nights fighting with their nearest and dearest! At two o'clock in the morning, my husband had to fetch the security guard as the family next door were trying to kill each other.
I could go on for hours, listing reasons not to go here, no matter how cheap, but just remember, you go here at your own peril!!!

I arranged for a group of 16- 60 years young to stay at this Hotel. After reading some of the reviews I was absolutely dreading the Holiday. We arrived at the Hotel minutes to spare for the evening meal which was a bit hit and miss. After that the meals were more than adequate and plentiful.
I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the rooms and they were cleaned out very well daily and smelled lovely on return to the room. We had hot water at any time. We mostly found reception staff very pleasant.
One of my friends fractured her arm and Terry (entertainments lady) was extremely helpful - particularly reading the Spanish on the prescribed medication by the hospital.
Didn't see any ants or anything looking dirty and found the rooftop amenities very pleasant. Families also had use of a washing machine.
One major area of criticism which we did point out to the Reception Staff was the total ignoring by clients of the No Smoking in the bar and lounge area. This ban was not enforced by the Hotel Staff despite the large notice on the door notifying everyone of the smoking ban.

I have to admit that the lounge was very disappointing but we took the opportunity to dine and be entertained in some of the sister hotels in Lloret and making these bookings proved to be easy. Some of the popular hotels were not always available so we either chose another night or another hotel. This gave us a variety of entertainment and menus.
We paid under £250 for All Inclusive so we were more than pleased with what we got. I have been going on holidays abroad for over 40 years - having recently been on a fantastic Caribbean Cruise and my main area of complaint is listening to fellow passengers moaning. I sometimes wonder what people want or is that part of the enjoyment of the holiday to moan.

The worst hotel in the world! Bad...
1 / 10
Dec 2007, Mr R Keys

The worst hotel in the world!
Bad food - inedible fish or pizza every day.
Ex military issue beds - sunken in middle with springs poking out.
Great view of a wall from balcony, so lights needed all day or night.
A bar that is stuck in the 70's / 80's - straight from minder!
Empty night clubs.
Rubbish shops and little town.
0 stars - 0 out of 10.
