- Advice: Take some ear plugs as can be noisy for traffic, Yumbo centre good fun loads of drag shows and entertainment, however not really suitable for children and anyone who is easily offened

Have just got back from rondo what a great place
really clean lovely rooms nothing too much for any staff
We went all inclusive could not fault plenty of and good variety
the only prob was the road noise and no air con no ceiling fan but we went
out every night to local center which caters for all taste will def go again

We stayed at the El Rondo over Xmas and New Year and really enjoyed our stay there.
We arrived on Xmas eve and our children were greeted in the lovely sun by Father Christmas who brought presents for all the kids that jerry the entertainer had arranged. We were given a family room that comfortably fitted 6 of us in though I would have been happier with more wardrobe space.
The rooms were cleaned regularly and linen changed frequently too. The entertainment the kids loved although did become quite tedious by the end of our ten day stay as it was the same songs played each night but jerry did his best and all the kids loved him.
We thought the all inclusive bar stopped too early(10.30) as you were often waiting a while for a drink as only one man often ran the pub bar from 8pm and he tended to serve those he favoured first and could just blatantly ignore you. Jose who ran the pool bar was great a breath of fresh air, he was funny, hyperactive and great with the kids.
The only problem I found was that the hotel mainly caters for the Germans, the food was catered for them and they sat TV was too, not that we go on holiday to watch TV but the kids could have been entertained by a cartoon channel or movie channel like the Germans had.
We loved our stay and will definitely return to the El Rondo.

I went to the El Rondo in September for a week with my fiancé and a friend of ours and we had an absolutely brilliant holiday.
The hotel was very clean and our apartment was spacious and had a balcony.
The food wasn’t bad but we didn’t eat there very often because we were out partying.
The hotel itself was in a fabulous location near all the shops and the beach.
The pool area was brilliant with plenty of sunloungers and there was a policy where you weren’t allowed to reserve them the night before (I think they were aiming this at the Germans when they wrote this).
We would all definitely go back to Gran Canaria and stay at the El Rondo - Fabulous hotel and excellent location would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Booked on the internet. Arrived approx 12.20am to find no transfer because the flight was early! Asked a so-called rep who just walked away and said nothing, after about 1/2 hr and feeling annoyed, tired and stressed we got a taxi at the cost of 30euros.
Reception - no English speaking staff, took us to our room which was out of the main hotel building across a road through some garden area and into a s/c bungalow! It was smelly, dingy and old feeling. Needed sleep so got our heads down for the night. My husband put his hand in our hand luggage and brought it out covered in ants!
We went straight to reception to find a lovely English speaking Spanish lady, who, after hearing our complaint moved us into the main hotel building into a lovely room (where we should have been in the first place). Food-atrocious, we ate out every morning and evening, there was 1 other English family the rest were German!
The place was full of gays kissing in the pool in front of children! I love Playa del Ingles and will return but will definitely choose accommodation more carefully in the future. We had a good holiday apart from the first night and the other hotel users!

We were a family of 5 adults who had booked a 2 bedroomed apartment, with lowcostholidays. unfortunately the hotel had no 2 bedroomed apartments and we were squashed into a 1 bedroomed. As you can imagine this was not a very agreeable turn of events. On complaining to the hotel on arrival we were offered a extra room for 200euro which we refused to pay as we had already paid for this facility. 5 days into the holiday lowcostholidays offered to move us to a sister hotel (Sahara Playa), but as our holiday had been disrupted enough we declined.
El Rondo is a very average and a dated hotel, pool area ugly and boring. Staff very friendly and helpful though especially reception. Food was a bit hit and miss often over salted and overcooked. Although they do have a Chinese buffet on most nights which we were very glad of.
What saved the holiday from being a complete disaster was the use of the Miraflor Bungalows opposite the El rondo. Beautiful pool area with fab bar. Although was busy due to rubbish pool area in El Rondo. Great entertainment team who worked tirelessly to involve everyone (Fabio, Ali, Matt, Sam, Gabby and Ilone) thank- you so much. We would not return to El Rondo because of food and dated hotel.
