This was our first holiday since having a baby - she was three months old when we dragged her up a mountain so we could go skiing! When we arrived, the staff were very friendly and helpful, getting us some dinner as we had missed the main evening meal due to a delayed... more

We spent a week family skiing in L'Alpe-d'Huez from 4-10 April 2010. Skiing school (ESF – David, Karl, Lorrie thank you so much) was excellent, we were very lucky with the snow condition and impressed by the way school has organised initial division into ability groups... more

I hav e just returned from a weeks skiing at Petit Prince. It was lovely to find such friendly, helpful staff at a hotel. The food was the best I've ever had whilst skiing and it was lovely to be offered unusual and interesting foods. There were a couple of times one or two... more

Well, we have just returned from a 7 day ski-ing holiday from this hotel and quite frankly I have never stayed at a hotel that is so dirty and run-down. We travelled with first choice who state in their brochure that this is a three snowflake hotel (be very careful of this)... more

I have just returned from a week's stay at this hotel. There were four of us including 2 boys of 10 and 4. Having read the previous reviews before I travelled, I wondered what to expect however, I needn't have been concerned. The hotel location was good with the free bus... more

Really the only good thing about this hotel is the view. It needs serious refurbishment. While the bar and dining room are ok, the bedrooms have peeling wallpaper, damp patches and the bathrooms are filthy. Our bath was gritty and slimy on the first day - and wasnt cleaned... more

Just got back from a week staying at this hotel with my husband and 20 month year old. I was a little apprehensive especially after reading these reviews but overall found the hotel to be basic but adequate. On the positive side the food for adults was really good and the... more

After skiing for over 15 years without children, staying in 4/5 star hotels, I was very nervous about coming here with our littlies (3.5 & 5) especially after reading these reviews. Went over New Year, had a great time, girls loved the Kids clubs - managed to pay extra for... more

We had a fantastic holiday. The food in the Petit Prince is excellent and unlike earlier comments, the service was very swift despite the hotel being full. The rooms are very basic but clean. Water is hot as long as you shower before 6pm. The ski bus is very frequent. We... more

I have just returned from a week stay at this hotel as part of a group of 17 adults and children. This hotel definitely has the best views in the resort and that is probably why it is classed as a three star. The rooms are clean but basic. The bar area and balcony have... more

Stayed here in Jan 2005. It was basic then and in need of refurbishment, so I can only guess that it is worse now. However, we found the food good and plentiful. The room was good and clean with plenty of hot water. Ski lifts were a short walk away and we were almost able... more

A Swedish New Year!
We stayed at Le PP over New Year. It is situated about 10-15min walk from the resort centre where the swimming pool etc is. The advatages of this are of course it is nice and quiet at night. The disadvantage is after a day on the slopes young children do not have the energy to walk anywhere-let alone into town! The bus runs every half hour to take skiers to and from the slopes from just outside the hotel. There is also a bucket lift down the road-which is fine to walk 'down' to, but it is a big effort to walk up after a day... more
Like a Youth Hostel
Firstly I would like to say that we had a great holiday in Alpe D'huez. The skiing is fantastic with lots of different runs for all abilities. The resort is also good with an outdoor swimming pool (free with lift pass - must wear trunks not shorts) and ice skating rink. Unfortunately, the hotel was very basic. Our room had holes in the plaster on the walls and ceiling, and black mould growing round them. The bunk beds didn't have a ladder, until our friends down the corridor gave us theirs, and I was only comfortable letting my 9 year... more
the staff makes up for the crappy hotel
The Swedish run hotel is in desperate need of touch up and reservation. Listening to the staff, I belive this is going to take place sometime during this year. The hotel feels very 70ties and nothing seems to have been restored/ replaced since then either :-(. The bed linnen is not fresh, the pillows are extremly uncomfortable, the skii room is damp. But the young, hardworking staff goes out of their way to please their guests and that makes you forget at least once in a while the chipped bowls and cup at breakfast and that... more
Noisy and dirty
This hotel is in a good location and has excellent views but is certainly not a 3 star rating. The village is ideal and slopes fantastic for all skiing abilities. The only thing that spoilt the holiday was this hotel. Our room was dirty on arrival and we had no wardrobe rail, no TV, a broken radio, a broken light above the bed badly fixed with tape, a cracked sink, leaking shower, no bath plug and a broken toilet seat stuck together with Elastoplast. The Kids Club and bar were above our room and we had constant noise during the early evening... more
Dirty Old Bedsit
23rd February - 1st March 2008 Our complaints included; 1. Unacceptable level of cleanliness 2. Plaster cracked and falling from walls 3. Wood work chipped on bashed, especially on the wardrobes 4. Cobwebs in several corners and across walls 5. Mould in bathroom 6. Rubbish left in draw from previous guests 7. Carpet not vacuumed thoroughly as plastic hook left in corner 8. Skirting board coming away from the wall 9. Cleaning product left in our room (dangerous if children had got to it) <br... more
Great holiday
We stayed in the Hotel Petit Prince in Jan 08 and had a great time. Admittedly the rooms are a little dated but they were very warm, comfortable beds, lots of hot water and amazing views. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the food was amazing (my partner is a bit of a fussy eater and even he liked it!) and they will do separate food for the kids. We had booked ski and boot hire before we went and it turned out that the hotel provided them which was really good, as by the time we got there on the Saturday... more
Great resort. Poor hotel.
The hotel does have good views but so does every hotel in this area. The brochure seemed to give it an extra star for this. Do not be taken in by it.. It is, in my opinion, no better than a one or two star hotel with basic facilities. The meals are excellent, artistically presented and cooked by trainee chefs but there is only one dish on the menu each evening so if you don't like the meal on offer there is no other alternative. All meat is served rare. You have no choice in the matter. I liked it but I can see many that would not.... more
Thank you Le Petit Prince.
Having never skid before or stayed at a ski resort, we were well pleased with ourselves for having chosen Le Petit Prince. The Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food and in particular the evening meals were exceptional. In fact we never ate an evening meal in town, and believe me there are plenty of eating houses to choose from, as the hotel food was so good. We've never done that before-and we’re frequent travellers. The location was pretty good overall. A frequent bus from outside the hotel does a short circuit... more
Very good hotel with a friendly atmosphere
We travelled with friends and 4 small children to the Petit Prince and it was great fun. The rooms, although slightly dated, are big and comfortable with great views from the balconies. There is a chairlift nearby which you can ski to from the hotel (if there is enough snow), otherwise the bus takes you from the door to the slopes every 15 minutes. The First Choice kids club was excellent. Our 1 and 3 year olds had a great time in the morning whilst we went off skiing and in the afternoon the hotel lent us some sledges which we... more
Great Hotel Especially for Families
Having just returned from a great skiing holiday in france I feel compelled to add my comments of this great hotel and resort. There is a KIDS CLUB andCRECHE at the hotel making it DEAL FOR FAMILIES to enable the kids to be looked after in a safe nad convenient location while you have some FREE TIME TO SKI. The food ast the hotel is EXCELLENT with a set dinner every evenig which you can change if it's not to your liking. There is a lift a short walk from the hotel and the SKI BUS stops directly outside so it is a GREAT... more
