Dania Hotel

After reading some critical reviews of this hotel by people who appeared to have been allocated on arrival with their tour operators, it was with some trepidation that we arrived.
We and our friends had booked with VJV who presumably get the best rooms as both couples had pleasant rooms with small shower and wc en suite with balconies overlooking olive and lemon groves and the sea.
The staff were excellent... thanks Donatella... and the pool was acceptable.
We had gone for a sightseeing holiday and due to excellent buses, although the Dania is some way out of Sorrento, were able to make our way down easily for 1 euro each way into Sorrento.
It is an excellent base to go to Pompeii and Heroclaneum by train, Amalfi Positano and Ravello by boat or bus and Capri by boat. The VJV reps are excellent, informative. We ate out every night in Sorrento or Puolio and had fabulous food most of the time at a very reasonable cost.
It should be noted that we caught a bus back each night at 11:00 ish but the one night we decided to try the late bus at 12:15 or so, although we were waiting from 11:55 it didn't arrive and we had a 20 euro taxi fee.
If anyone saw four people being brought limoncello by the Fenice restaurant opposite the bus stop at 12:15 it was us!
