Diabolical place

'Silver' chalet allocated was very dirty (sticky surfaces everywhere, hairs in plugholes, dog hairs, mould, USED TISSUES, soiled toilet, DAMP MATTRESS, sweet wrappers and a TOOTH), was insufficiently equipped with cutlery and crockery, and had suffered several years of disrepair and general neglect. The photos are disgusting, take a look!
The manager said that as I did not arrange the break directly with the park that I would not be entitled to any form of refund or money for alternative accommodation.
I had to hunt around for a B&B for a night (£110 at my expense)and the next day the tour operator intervened. Trying to get some kind of compensation but not hopeful!!!

What a lovely little site we found this to be. Caravan was bronze because we had dogs, but was very well kept and very clean. Direct access to beach and surrounding nature reserve, which was breathtakingly beautiful.Gas ran out in caravan, within 20 mins of reporting, it had been changed and back on. Staff very friendly and helpful. Local shop adequate but expensive, which is normal anyway for sites, so expected.Took our own bacon, sausage & eggs etc. for breakfast and used the chip shop at the bottom of Kessingland High St.(abt 5 mins in car away), which is fantastic quality and very well priced.
Very peaceful, well kept and friendly site, would strongly recommend.

  • Advice: Loved it....We will be back.

camping weekend

good and bad points really. good point - flat camp site. bad point - too far away from the one toilet and shower block which was permanently dirty and woefully inadequate for the amount of tourers and tents.
nice swimming pools, both quite warm, changing rooms ok. great playground. staff friendly. the entertainment was horrific. the entertainers seemed more intent on entertaining themselves and the games for the kids were awful - getting 6 year olds to recite the "one smart fellow, he felt smart" tongue twister was just irresponsible. another night the entertainers had to go round and find as many pairs of feet to kiss as possible..... thank god we were only there for 2 days.
the beach is really windy and not for going in, you'd have to drive to southwold or lowestoft. shan't be returning.

  • Advice: good facilities, just avoid the 7.45pm shows...

We went in July 2009 with our 2 children, the site isn't very big which is great, ive been to huge Haven sites and never again !
The nigh time entertainment was excellent, the venue was air conditioned and the kids loved seeing the characters on stage, there was plenty of opportunity for them to join in and go on the stage.
We didn't even go in peak season and we saw a comedian, magician and even Bucks Fizz and various singers across the week, and one night there was some wrestling, i was quite surprised on how comprehensive it was for a small site
About 1.5ml away there is a large Morrisons so you can stock up, there is also a Pizza Hut if you fancy a pizza.
The accommodation was just your typical caravan, it was clean and tidy, we had some duvets missing and reported to reception, new ones were delivered in 10 mins.
We enjoyed ourself so much we booked another break for later that year, and are returning in 2010.
All in all i thing this place is great for kids, the staff are great , i cant comment on the food as we never ate on camp.

Good for children and dogs

No reviews here since the bad one in June 07. We spent some time in brilliant sunshine in April. Great site for walks, nature, seeing the area ie.Southwold, Lowestoft, Beccles, Oulton Broad, Gt.Yarmouth. Very safe for children. No restrictions for dogs at this end of the beach which this site unusually has direct access to. (Don't expect a golden sand beach, it is a huge expanse of shingle, grass and some sandy dunes.)Next to the Benacre nature reserve and the beautiful coast and the Suffolk coast path. So much for the surroundings, the site itself is okay depending on what you want. The entertainment for kids is good, rather too much for us and wished the kids things ended sooner and the adult caberet began half an hour earlier. The swimming pool could be bigger for the size of the site. Cafe and fish & chips good enough, but the pub and the waterside restaurant nearby really good. It is a bit annoying that there are constant notices about holiday home ownership, but as half the site is for privately owned caravans they are obviously a huge part of the business, and, I might add, situated much nicer and not so crammed in. The reception and management friendly and helpful. Can't imagine what the previous reviewer stayed in, but a caravan in the state he descibes would not be the norm I don't believe. Overall a nice site.

My in laws had booked a break for us...

My in laws had booked a break for us at Kessingland Beach Park Resorts.
So upon arrival we went and signed in and collected the keys, upon first glances didn’t seem too bad. It was gold 8 sleeping caravan and an owners they rent out.
As my son is only 2, I took the travel cot and said I was going to see which part of the sofa pulled out as they turn in to a double bed. Upon doing this noticed it was a bit dirty, hairs, insects and dust. Then when we pulled the bed open on the mattress protector was 2 maggots, one dead one alive and in storage bags under the other cushions where stored duvets infested with flees.
My mother in law called the house keeping straight away, who arrived with the person who was in charge of the cleaning that day. The kettle and toaster were also filthy.
My father in law put some flees in a glass of water and took them to reception to show the manager. They apologised but said there were no other caravans available. When the in-laws showed the pictures they had taken, they very promptly gave £40.00 in vouchers to spend there and said we would be moved to a show caravan.
So with the vouchers we went to the restaurant. The table was sticky and dirty. We ordered our food waited 1 hour and 20 mins. When the food arrived it was the wrong order. When it did arrive the cutlery was filthy asked for new ones and the manager gave us drinks on the house.
It was horrendous like a carry on film!
