Comments:  I wanted a week somewhere in the sun and chill out and do as little as possible, in a nice envrionment. That's exactly what I got.

I was so impressed throughout our stay. The hotel staff cannot do enough for you. You always get acknowledged by every staff member. The rooms are very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. The grounds are maintained very well, we saw staff working on them everyday. The standard and choice of food was excellent. The main restaurant offers a different theme every night. For a buffet service the quality of the food was faultless. They have an a la carte restaurant which you can pay a small supplement to dine in. I didn't get round to sampling this but by looking at the menu it looks like a seafood lover's paradise. They also have a snack bar by the pool which serves sandwiches, pizzas, chips etc.

The pool area was very clean and was constantly been cleaned throughout the day. I do find it hard to believe what I read in a previous post. The only thing I saw floating in the pool was a bunch of very happy holidaymakers. The long stretch of private beach was clean and had easy access as it is exclusive to the hotel guests. The hotel lobby was very spacious and clean with half a dozen shops selling mainly souvenirs and holiday essentials you may of forgotten to pack, be warned they aren't cheap and do take advantage of the fact that there is nowhere else near. I do agree with a previous poster regarding the evening entertainment. There is only 1 bar there with an egyptian guy singing who isn't the best singer in the world it can be quite amusing! I think another bar offering a more chilled out bakground music would be nice where you can have a drink and chat with your fellow guests. They had a nightclub open in the evening but always played the same style of music every night there was no variety.

They also had a great animation team which offered various activities throughout the day and evening. The spa which offers various massages and treatments is also very good value for money. You will find staff from the spa coming round the pool area during the day trying to give you the sales pitch. If you do book a treatment make sure you agree a price beforehand.

The only other thing which stops me from giving them a ten is that whilst room service was available they had no menu for the room service in the rooms.

I think the most important factor to consider before you book is that Taba is still a relatively small town and is still not yet geared up for mass tourism. Therefore everything is based around your hotel. However there are some excellent excursions on offer such as day trips to Cairo, Petra, Jerasulem to name just a few. Last but not least diving.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax in the sun with a couple of books blended in with a good quality accommodation, food and facilities then I highly recommend this. If you are looking for an 18 - 30's style holiday then this wouldn't be for you.

I work in the travel industry and have seen my fair share of good and bad hotels. I can assure anyone that this definitely falls into the good. Whilst in EU rating this may not be a 5* (more a 4*) it defintely deserves the 5* Egyptian rating. If you are worried about the food there is no need as there is something for all tastes. All the water they use to prepare their food is filtered so you are able to eat fresh fruit and vegetables. I did not suffer from any stomach complaints whilst I was there and nor did anyone else. People that moan about the quality of the food are perhaps better off enjoying the sun in Benidorm with their kiss me quick hats and have peace of mind that there is a McDonalds within a 2 minute walking distance!

There are very few hotels around the world which I would return to, the Radisson however is near to the top of my list to do so.

Comments:  Took my two children (8 and 10) in the school holidays. Never been to Egypt before and was not sure what to expect. I need not have worried. Anyone who finds reason to moan about this hotel is one of those people who goes on holiday just to spent two weeks moaning, or has had an isolated incident that tarnished thier view. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we felt welcomed, valued as guests and safe. The food was excellent, even my two fussy eaters were happy. The room was clean, well furnished and it's the first time i have seen a hotel go to the effort of providing three separate beds for a single parent with two kids without me having to ask. The pool was superb, safe, clean and a perfect temperature. the private beach was clean and the snorkelling was out of this world. DON'T whatever you do miss the trips to Jerusalem/Dead sea, and Petra in Jordan, they are not cheap, and involved getting up very early, but were worth every penny. On the negative side......... can't think of anything to put here!! Where were all the rude Russians that people mention in their reviews?? I met a few very nice Polish people, very polite French people, and some very nice English people, but Russians.... Niet! Worth mentioning though that the hotel is not near a resort, but that is clear in the brochures, didn't feel the need to leave the hotel though, so it did not matter. All in all, best holiday I have ever had and I am well travelled. Can't wait to go back next year, and the year after, and the year after.

Comments:  NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!! The Radisson SA has to be the worst resort I have ever been to. On booking the holiday we were advised that Taba Heights was very quiet, fantastic beaches, diving and lots to do. In fact the Radisson is not even in Taba Heights but in Taba. It sits a distance away from Taba Heights at the end of the run of hotels and next to some half built hotels. It is a fifteen minute shuttle or bus ride away, this doesn't sound much unless like in this case the shuttle bus is NOT INCLUDED in your package and they want to charge you £15 return trip. You cannot walk the route for various reasons, security and the heat would probably kill you!!

The hotel itself is in no way a 5 or 4 star resort for that matter. There are only two restaurants, one that seems to be for 'locals' and the other for tourists, both have a miserable selection of food. On our 1 week stay my partner passed out and had a severe stomach virus and we met three other people on the holiday who had been hospitalised.

Service: if you can call it service at the Radisson, pretty non-existent and the staff are very smiley but quite rude if you want something or have a complaint.

Cleanlinesss: the rooms are ok and cleaned every day, however the rooms are not in great shape and the noise from the air conditioning system is almost deafening. Catch 22, try to sleep in the heat which can reach 50 or try to sleep with the noise....

The pool areas are not very clean at all, in fact around the so called 'pool bar' area it was slimy and smelt of old feet. Not hygienic at all. Also you better get up early to catch a sunbed either on the beach or by the pool (that's if you fancy swimming in a pool with sanitary pads and faeces floating around in it). The sun beds are 'bagged' on a daily basis and at least a quarter of them sit with towels draped across them and no one actually uses them. It seems the clientèle have got used to this method and it seems to be the thing you do... that is if you are a brainless sheep with no regard for anyone else!

There is only one main lobby at the hotel and nothing to do as far as activities, the facilities offered are not in a good state. There are a few shops around the lobby and the shop keepers "psssst...." at you and say "hey where you from, you want to come my shop"... pretty much every time you walk past. The lobby is like one big living room of a large family and kids run around screaming and playing. Mums, dads, uncles, grandmas, grandpas and every other member of their associated families sit, stare and drink coffee, some the whole day and don't even venture outside.

The clientèle are NOT friendly at all, this hotel is very much used by people from Jordan, Egypt, Israel and there can be tension between them, there was some fighting on the beach and they don't seem to like or even try to communicate with anyone from European regions. There is no such thing as smile and a smile back, you just get a very odd disgruntled look back whenever you try to make a "good evening or good morning". The staff and holiday reps are quite happy to tell you this in conversation once you are there!!

We ended up upgrading to the Marriott, which is in Taba Heights and is fantastic, clean and the diving is wonderful. The Lazy Day Boat Trip was lovely and the Marine Centre was good too, at least there are people out there who are trying to preserve some of the coral reefs and sea life. Which at the end of the day is the main attraction for the area. Happy Holidays!!

Comments:  We have just returned (hols. 19th-26th May)from Taba Heights after a holiday at the above hotel. We found the hotel to be comfortable and clean, most of the staff where very helpful, one or two had an attitude problem.

The hotel is ideally situated on the a long golden beach. During our stay the 'red' flag was out on three days so we could only enjoy the excellent snorkelling for 4days. The hotel is bright and airy, we found there to be a good selection of food catering for many nationalities. Wine and drinks are plentiful.

However, a few days into our holiday we heard uttering's of people within the hotel becoming ill with the 'Taba' trots, we are well travelled and stuck to only bottled water and ate a simple diet.

However on the last day of our holiday my husband started to feel queasy this we managed with medication, but since our return home we have both had persistent diarrhoea, stomach pains and I have also vomited on a number of occasions.

We had planned to return to the Radisson in October but after our experiences over the last week I don't think we will be now doing so.

There are so many positives about this hotel, its a shame that we have been left feeling uneasy about returning again, we heard many of our fellow travellers expressing the same view point.

Comments:  This hotel was indeed set in very beautiful surroundings and your bedrooms rooms were always kept spotless, however this cannot change the fact that this 2 week holiday was the worst of mine and my partner’s lives.

The hotel was occupied by around 20% (maximum) of European holiday makers and the other 80% was occupied by another nationality which proved to have far too many cultural differences to all Europeans staying there. They would allow their children to go to the toilet in the swimming pool (and I do not mean just peeing in it) and they would also swim everyday fully clothed as they couldn’t wear swimming costumes due to their religion. The hotel staff would try to stop them but it turned out to be a daily event.

As for in the restaurant they would help themselves to food with their hands and often pick it up and place in back in with all the other untouched food; as well pushing and shoving any one out of the way that tries to form an orderly queue.

In the evenings there was one bar open to sit in and relax and listen to the entertainment however this area could only hold around 100 people so with a hotel that has 345 rooms you could never get a seat. We meet many couples out there and would talk to them about the problems we were encountering and we were not alone in our thoughts and feelings on the hotel. Everyday you would hear more and more people complaining on the beach about the whole running of the hotel and Radisson should take a serious look at the goings on in this resort.

I have stayed at a few Radissons over the world and know that this is not what you should be receiving from a hotel chain of this quality. My other half also suffered from food poisoning for the whole 2 weeks and is still suffering after over a week of being home.

Comments:  After reading some of the reports about the Radisson we were quite sceptical about the holiday, we shouldn't have worried!

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms well equipped, the staff wonderful. They were always willing to help, they always had a smile and a hello, from the manager to the gardeners, it didn't matter they were always polite and courteous.

The food was always hot and plenty to choose from, there were themed nights and we had no difficulty finding something to eat.

The Bedouin tent, cost £17, is well worth a visit, or two... the nights we went we were the only dinners in and the typically Egyptian food was excellent, the only comment we can make is don't eat for the day before you go because there is more than enough to eat, in fact it could have fed us for the whole week.

The entertainment team were absolute stars, they invite everyone to join in, but if you don't it doesn't matter... the water polo teams consisted of all nationalities, both male and female and provided a laugh for those involved and those watching, and by the end of the week one of the final games was the WAGS vs. Lads!!

The beach is manmade but don't let put you off, the sun beds are in sets of 2-4 and are quite private due to the wicker screens around each set of beds. The snorkelling is not to be missed, you can hire a snorkel etc for about £6 a day, and it is well worth it.

The evening entertainment was what you made it there were alternating acts in the coral bar, whilst the entertainment team organised events nightly in the amphitheatre.

The holiday as a whole was a fantastic surprise, starting from the hotel, to the staff and the brilliant service they provide, especially Mena and his cocktails and Mohammed and his "Omar Sharif" look alike accomplice in the Bedouin tent, to the company of other guests.

Comments:  We stayed at the Radisson SaS Resort in April 2007 for one week, all inclusive. The hotel is spotless.

The restaurants we had our meals in were self service and there was a good choice of food with specials on every day. The roast duck, carved turkey and roast lamb deserve a special mention.

The complex rises like an oasis out of an otherwise barren landscape and be warned, there is nowhere to go in walking distance of the complex and really nothing to do even in a short drive.

We stayed on the complex all the time although if we had been there a fortnight we would have certainly gone on a couple of trips.

Jordan is clearly visible across the sea and Israel is only a short trip away. The mountain backdrop to the hotel is magnificent alongside its manicured gardens and beautiful pools.

The temperature when we stayed was in the late twenties, early thirties and we spent most days on the hotels man made private beach. There is a bar on the beach, a restaurant bar just off the beach at the side of the pool where we had our lunch.

At night we would have our meal on the second of the two meal settings in the main restaurant and then retire to the balcony bar. The hotel had entertainment on every night we were there.

Service at the bar wasn’t the fastest we have seen and at busy times a queue could quite easily build up.

All in all we had a very relaxing holiday in very pleasant surroundings but I would have preferred the location probably not to be so remote.

Comments:  My wife and I stayed at the Radisson SAS Taba Egypt for one week 24th April 2007- 1st May 2007 on an All Inclusive basis.

I would never go back. I have some real concerns about the nature of the All Inclusive package, but first some general feedback.

The hotel is isolated and a holiday here should be regarded as hotel centred (except for organised excursions), as there is no local infrastructure outside the hotel grounds. This suited us fine as we were mainly there for the sun and relaxation.

The weather was glorious; the hotel rooms large well equipped and well serviced; the grounds and gardens were well stocked and maintained; the pool area was large, clean with a good supply of towels and sun loungers.

The animation team seemed enthusiastic; the restaurant and bar staff were friendly and supportive.

The food in the restaurant was average for this type of hotel (but let’s face it you don’t go to Egypt for the cuisine!).

The beach is manmade and it’s quite difficult to enter the sea from the beach as the shore line is made up of sharp stones and coral. They have provided a jetty so that people can walk out and enter the sea in deeper water if they want to swim or snorkel.

Now, what you need to know about the All Inclusive service, is that they seem hell bent on extracting as much additional cash from you as they can…

Wine is only available in the restaurant with meals; you cannot take glasses of wine outside the restaurant area.

Wine is not available in the bar, unless you upgrade to their ‘Super All Inclusive’ package, the equivalent of $12 per day per person.

The All Inclusive service finishes at 11pm when they close the bar.

Drinks are available after 11pm in the disco at about the equivalent of UK prices.

There is an Italian restaurant on site which All Inclusive guests can use at an additional ‘minimum charge’. This additional charge is the equivalent of £9:50 a head and that excludes wine, tax and service. In Cairo, Luxor and Aswan £9:50 buys a very good meal so this additional charge is anything but minimal.

The management have a barbeque once a week, but if you want to attend the charge is about £15 a head.

They have a Bedouin Tent where you can get a ‘genuine’ Bedouin meal (no alcohol is served here), but they charge £17:00 a head for this.

Everything in the Spa is chargeable including the use of the Sauna, Steam Room and Jacuzzi.

Normal checkout time is 12 noon, although our tour operator arranged an extension until 14:00. If you want to keep your room until 18:00 it’s another $50.

Once you check out, they take your arm band off and then nothings free. I was charged for a cup of coffee I had from one of the self service coffee pots in the lounge whilst waiting for our airport transfer.

Comments:  We had a fantastic time at the Radisson. We arrived to a warm welcome by the Animations team, who were friendly and informative.

We spent a lot of the time by the pool, topping up on our tans which in a 42 degree heat was not hard to do.

The hotel sits in manicured grounds and is well laid out. It is guarded 24 hours a day and has a backdrop of the Sinai Mountains which although not picturesque, means that our private beach remained exactly that and not swamped by other hotel's tourists.

There was a vast range of food available every day however the entertainment at night was somewhat limited.

I would recommend this holiday to couples and young families who are looking for a relaxing holiday but can keep themselves amused.

On the whole though, I would certainly go back.

Comments:  Loved it! This is one of the few places I would go back to - and I am in 3 weeks! (2007)

The hotel you couldn't fault - very clean, large rooms and friendly staff.

The food has been described by some as bland, but we loved every meal we ate. The selection is so vast you really can't help but find something you like!

It's not all hot and spicy but we're not in India so don't know what people expect! It was all cooked well, nicely presented and there was lots of it - what more can you ask for?

The pool was lovely and clean with plenty of sun beds. There were constant daytime activities - water aerobics, water polo etc - but night time it definitely calmed down a great deal.

There was karaoke and live bands but nothing really upbeat. Perfect for the holiday we went on but not really something for same sex groups as it's more for families/couples.

Weather was HOT. Slightly windy for a couple of days so we couldn't go in the sea but that was no fault of the hotel. Didn't ruin the holiday - we just went in the pool instead!

The value for money here is outstanding - hence us going again - and after last year we can't wait!

Comments:  Went to Egypt for the first time last year and absolutely loved it.

The Radisson SAS in Taba was wonderful - large, clean rooms; friendly staff; food and drink in constant supply and wonderful weather.

It was windy for some of the days we were there and we couldn't go in the sea but that is of no fault of the hotel and it was certainly not a dampener to our holiday - we just went in the pool instead!

The food may be plain to some people, but you can't please everyone - what we had was very nice, and all members of staff in the restaurant were very polite.

There was lots of what there was and if there were any issues I'm sure they would have sorted it.

Night life is a bit of a non event - karaoke some nights, live bands others - but there was plenty for children.

It all depends what you want out of a holiday - if it's a lively, upbeat holiday you want, Taba may not be the best place for you.

But if it's a relaxing, five star holidays for you to truly unwind and chill out, then you will love it.

We're going back in 4 weeks - have requested the same room as we loved it so much - and I would highly recommend it!!

Comments:  Having just returned from Taba, I thought I best set the record straight!

Before we went I’d done all the usual – read all the reviews thought phew when I’d read a good one and lay awake worrying when ever I came across a bad one – I can safely say now there is no need to worry!

The hotel is a total paradise; it’s literally an oasis in the desert!

The rooms are large, well equipped with TV, safe, fridge, bath and power shower and clean, in fact the whole hotel is very clean and there is a constant stream of staff cleaning and tidying.

The rooms are scattered through out a beautiful setting of lush grass, palms trees and shrubs.

Back in the main hotel there are 3 bars, 2 restaurants and several shops. From the coral bar you can enjoy a sundowner watching the sun set over Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

If you are looking for total R ‘n’ R then this is the place for you – there is nothing to do all day but lay in the sun and relax, and I do mean nothing…. You can’t even leave the hotel complex for a walk you are literally in the middle of nowhere, Taba Heights is just 10 mins in a cab but there is nothing much there. The Radisson does have a few shops on site and a fabulous man who makes sand pictures and will make any design for you and very cheap too.

There is some entertainment during the day – twice daily water polo and water aerobics and camel rides on the beach.

We found all the trips very expensive so chose not to do them but those people who did seems to enjoy them – but the Cairo and Petra ones were very long and tiring.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful and polite especially Mohammad and Osma on the pool bar and Hany and Abdulah in the restaurant – yes there may be some males who are slightly over friendly but if you are married or clearly with someone they will respect that and we found it was all done in a good humoured way and no offence was meant.

The food in the all-inclusive restaurant is good; a wide range of different food is available, with a different theme each night. Getting drinks can be a bit slow but slip the waiter 50 Egyptian pounds (£5) on your first night and you will find a huge improvement in the service, our drinks were poured out as we walked in on the 2nd night and the kept topped up all night.

We did have a touch of Taba tummy but I would put this down to the different content of the mineral water more than the food.

The entertainment is rather poor – the same band every night in the coral bar, but we find the evenings best spent after dinner watching a movie under the stars in the amphitheatre.

All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for total relaxation and recuperation, but if you do have any issues when you are out there it’s reassuring to know the guest relations manager is an extremely helpful English lady called Anne, we did find the usual set of people who were determined to pick holes in the place and moan but I don’t think they’d know a good holiday if it came up and bit them! And talking of bites they spray the resort every night so no need to worry about mozzies and bites.

Our top tips:

1 – a little tipping goes a long way

2 – take plenty of sun cream – it’s v. expensive (£10) to buy in the shops

3 – Put on your goggles/mask before you go in the sea - it is really salty and will really hurt your eyes.

4 – Go for dinner at the start of service not during the second sitting the quality of the food is so much better

5 – get your towel on the sun bed early – before breakfast – best position is in front of the pool bar not too the side.

Comments:  We have just returned home from Taba and would like to add a few comments of the resort and hotel.

Resort is very isolated, but fine if all you wish to do is lie on the beach and chill out. If you are going for the marine life it is lot better down at Sharm. The weather for the past five days was very windy so could not enter the sea. On either side of the hotel is unfinished hotels but no work is in progress.

Hotel: Food is very poor but you will not starve. Evening entertainment not up to much. If you are a non-smoker make sure you ask for a non-smoking room. Hotel is clean and the staff are helpful. But this only a 3 star + hotel at best.

Comments:  The hotel was unbelievable. The staff, the food, the rooms were all of excellent quality. One of the best relaxing holidays I have ever had!

I had done a lot of research on the hotel before I left and heard a few unsavory comments, but I disagree with them all. It states clearly that this hotel is for relaxing only, it was in the middle of nowhere so no shops or nightlife (which was exactly what I wanted). There were water sports offered though and quad bikes through the desert. My room was kept impeccably clean and the staff were so good with my daughter.

There was a huge range of well cooked food. The only bad point was the wine was not too good but the beer made up for it in refreshment factor!

Comments:  We have just arrived back from at week at the Radisson and I must say we found the staff at this hotel very, very friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are maintained to a very high standard and nothing seems any trouble to them.

The sea is wonderful great for snorkeling which we did most days - a tip take your own snorkels as they charge a lot to buy them in the hotel shop, there are no other shops in the area so they certainly have the monopoly, also buy shoes as there is a lot of coral and you need protection. The pool is lovely but it is supposed to be heated - I guarantee it is very cold.

On a negative note the entertainment is virtually non existent. There is singer (each evening) the same singer, who is pleasant enough, but become rather boring after 7 nights, I did hear people complaining about this, especially I suppose if you were staying for 14 nights. There is a cinema, but I never saw it in use, a disco that the young children run around in, which is fine as there is nothing else for the youngsters to do.

I would recommend this hotel for a week, but for 2 weeks you might well be bored.
