Javea is a very scenic, attractive area of the northern part of the Costa Blanca, suitable for all ages of people looking for a relaxing holiday without several excellent beaches suitable for families with children or those wanting snorkelling/diving/jet skis.
In addition good sporting facilities for the energetic and lots of interesting places to see and visit close to hand when you feel like a wander.
Nightlife mainly centres on eating out in the local restaurants and bars but there is such a fantastic variety, you are spoilt for choice. The seafood is to die for and we found food in general extremely good value for money.
Despite having all amenities for visiting holidaymakers, much of the 'real' Spain is still very much alive and well here.
We were lucky enough to be in town for the local Javea fiestas which had many events but culminated in the best and biggest firework display we have ever seen. Our accommodation was a villa with private pool in a residential area close to the old town - so peaceful.
We took full advantage of the pool where the temperature of the water was 85 degrees.
Despite being a traditional Spanish style property it had air conditioning in all the bedrooms, was tastefully furnished and decorated with vast terraces, complete with plenty of sunbeds and parasols to accommodate our every whim in the sunbathing department.
The local servicing agents were extremely helpful and informative - they really do know everything there is to know about the area.
Oh, and one last thing, when you are out and about in the evenings you feel very, very safe, much more so than in the UK. We will be going back!
