Astors Hotel

This is a fairly basic hotel, as shown in the prices charged. However, the standard of accommodation is generally good.
For central London, the rooms are of a reasonable size and well equipped. The bedroom had a modern large-screen LCD digital TV though I thought it strange that there was no remote control with the TV.
The bathroom had a powerful shower and plenty of space. There was also a small food preparation area with a microwave oven though I had no need for this during my brief 2-night stay on business.
Breakfast was fairly basic (no cold meats, cheeses) but there was a good selection of cereals, croissants, bread rolls, preserves etc. A selection of hot drinks was available from a self-service machine in addition to fruit juice.
My only complaint was the cigarette smoke from staff members who smoke immediately outside the guest bedroom windows! A big plus for the hotel though, was that all rooms were non-smoking.
