Some staff were friendly enough,mainly the waiters,probably only when they were tiped.Apart from the cleaners, who were always friendly. Saff were totally unhelpfull and they kept no information on tours or things to do and the reception staff are useless at any of that... more

Booked this hotel on line for a short 4 day break before Christmas. Our room (805) was on a upper floor on the southfacing side so we were virtually in the sun all day. For anyone who likes to spend sometime on the balcony I'd recommend other travellers to request the same... more

Sorry to say..not good.Does not deserve a 3 star.The food was very poor, very little choice.The rooms were very used and in need of refurbishing.The water was completely off for one day.Seen happier staff.Not very co operative and helpful.Cant say it wasnt clean but very... more

poor barracuda

Good points first, great locatin & very clean.Bad points, food cold,not much choice, waiters only smile if they have wind,one good burp & are back to normal. the balconies are positively dangerous for kiddies ,a large gap between floor & first rail & same again for the next rail.I think they could do with a health & safety check. we had a flying one night visit to the malaga area and stayed at the barracuda. we used to live in the area so we knew the location of the hotel. check in was quick, room and bed a good size. very clean. breakfast was excellent, as much bacon and eggs as you could want. lovely coffee too...recommended

First things 1st..The Location, excellent, right on the beach. Out of the hotel on the Promenade turn to your left and a 25-30 min walk and your in Torremolinos shopping area.Turn to your right and within 10 mins. you're in Benalmadema Harbour with it's classy bars and eateries. Outside the hotel to the front ( 25 yards to junction) turn left and its non stop bars/restaurants. So location wise you are well placed. Next the hotel itself, if you are one of those people who like to sit around the Hotel all day, then it's not for you....

Realxation at bargain price

My partner and i were having a 3 day break in Torremolinos for some relaxation at a cheap price. I got a good deal from Easyjet which included accommodation at Barracuda, meals and flights. One piece of advice i would give is if you use the taxi's agree a price before hand and if possible get the driver to to write it down. They see tourists and change the prices once at your destination. In hindsight i would recommend using the trains as they are so easy to use, excellently sign posted and extremely cheap. Hotel is in an excellent location - convenient for the beach, promenade, bars and restaurants. The rooms were basic and could benefit from a spot of paint. Toiletries replenished and towels changed daily. The views from the balcony were excellent if you got a pool view. Speaking of which the pool was simply average, but clean and there were not enough sun loungers. Breakfast in the hotel was ok, not a lot of choice and the hot buffet intended to be warm/cold. Good hotel

Just returned from a long weekend break at the Hotel Barracuda. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room clean and adequate. Was on b&b basis so could not comment on the main meals but breakfast was ok, not great, but passable. The only down side is the place could do with a good lick of paint and bringing out of the 70's. The position of the hotel was great, right on the sea front, close to the marina, plenty of restaurants near by. Had a good stay.

The hotel Barracuda is in a fabulous location right on the sea front and if you get the side of the hotel with the pool view you've got it made. My friend and i went with low expectations having only paid £186 for a week half board. On arrival at Malaga airport we paid 22 Euros for a taxi which i believe is the going rate. I had e mailed the hotel directly asking for a pool view and high floor. Just coming up for my fourth stay at this hotel. The location couldn't be better. Always found the staff to be friendly. Rooms lovely and clean and attended to daily. Chose your times for going to the restaurant. Get there early, otherwise, the food could be a little cold. Otherwise, a reasonable choice, and if there is nothing you like, there are plenty of local restaurants to chose from. Just returned from New Year at This hotel. Whilst it is in a GREAT location and the rooms are lovely I have to say that the food is only mediocre. The breakfast choice in particular the bacon wasnt so good and the choice in the evenings wasnt the best except for the salads which where fine. I would only go back there if there was a good deal. When my husband and I go away we try and find a (local)pub and I would recomend Browns bar at the top of the road. Jeff And Muriel will make you very welcome. The best thing about this hotel its is location ,its on the beach and close (walking-distence)to the peurto marina witch is THE place to party at night.On the beath side as you exit the hotel are resturants but only one of them is realy realy good called LARRY,i ate the best steak ever there.
