VIME La Reserva de Marbella

very disapointed with this hotel as it was sold as a four star and it is more like a 3 star. the food was terible quality and often cold. we had to eat out on top of paying for all inclusive. The pool and accomodation were ok, but it is in the middle of nowhere. Had a good two week break in Marbella but would not re-visit the Vime Reserva De Marbella. The hotel is in a quiet location with very little nearby within walking distace other than a supermarket and a couple of restaurants (the Chinese is worth a visit). The hotel does not warrant it's 4 star standard mainly due to service and poor food. The hotel basically needs more staff in every area - restaurant, bar, maid service and entertainment. My Husband & I grabbed a 3 night break last minute, couldn't find much about location so hence this message. 60euro taxi ride from Malaga (30 minutes) but Taxi driver could not find complex as not listed on satnav, main downside was location - nowhere to walk to and spanish equivalent to the M1 to get anywhere if you do walk, 25 minutes walk to beach or nearest small bar/restaurants - complex very spaced out to but great accomodation, mini split level bungalows with nice lounge/kitchens and upstairs aircon bedrooms with private sun terrace,... more

we have just returned from a 10-day holiday at the VIME la reserva de marbella. It is set in a quiet area but it's definitley perfect for a relaxing holiday. the hotel covers a large area which is filled mainly with lovely acommodation. The reception is on a fairly steep hill which is where we were dropped off by our taxi. Just returned from a 4 night break with friends. The hotel complex was more than adequate for a relaxing break. There were two pools (one for children) but we needed to reserve beds at 8 am to ensure we got sunbeds receiving the full benefit of all day sunshine. The bar was extremely busy when we arrived on fri pm and queued about 10 mins per drink, but after that you literally got served straight away. Stayed here in June 2006 when the hotel was full. Still, it didn't seem overcrowded and there was always room at one of the pools. The hotel staff was very good and the rooms were comforbable, though they could use some new paint. As we have a young daughter, having sleeping space on two floors was appreciated. Myself my husband, our daughter and 4 year old grandson, stayed at the Atlantic Club Reserva de marbella, in June 2006 The complex is approximately 8 kilometres outside Marbella, on the road to Firengirola. We hired a car which is a necessity if you don't want to stay on the complex all the time. The Costa Del Sol has many resorts worth visiting, along with Theme and Water parks at Benalmadena, and Firengirola. If you have already booked a stay here I wouldn't be worried but if you are looking to book a stay, I'd recommend trying somewhere else. I'm sure the resort was 4 star in the early 90's, but it’s certainly not been painted or dusted since then. Our apartment was clean, but the patio doors, safe and kitchen window did not lock so we had to hide valuable and take extra care but had no trouble during our stay. We have just returned from a week at the Atlantic Club which is described as being IN Marbella - do you class 12km out of Marbella as IN Marbella? We were in the middle of nowhere and were not advised about this beforehand (eg: recommended to hire a car). Don't expect room service or any other kind of service here. NO Security- one doorwall couldn't be locked and the other was left unlocked. The burglars came in while we slept and cleaned out everything of value. They even took dirty clothes to the other room to search through. It appeared to be someone who knew the layout VERY WELL.
