" What a nightmare! "

What a nightmare!
I stayed at this hotel for one week with my husband, brother and his partner. I have had many hoildays to Turkey in the past and i cannot fault them, however this hoilday was the opposite.
The rooms were ok, not small and were clean.
The place where you eat, i can not call it a resturant, was disgusting. Brown table clothes looked like sacks covered the tables. Flies were everywhere and constantly hovered over the food. Dishes of salad etc left from the evening meal were also put out for breakfast the next day.Even though we was all inclusive ice creams were not part of the price, Puddings and fruit was not seen. The bar had no white wine and staff was caught on two occasions putting water in the bottle of vodka.Apart from Naz, staff and management were rude and not helpful, and often had arguments with guests. Mangement also owned Angels a resturant down the road which was always busy and you had to book for a table, marvellous food served, however this was in August, when i returned in October you would have thought it was a different resturant.
Hirasonu is a lovely place, i have been there three times and am returning in a couple of weeks, their is some lovely resturants and tourist spots. I will not be going back to this hotel.

Advice: Good location, near the blue lagoon, plently of resturants and bars.

Activities: Would recommend going to the Ghost town, any of the boat trips, Billy's beach

Good for: Beach

" Dont touch it! "

The people who have given this hotel a good review, were either too drunk all holiday, members of staff or paid to do so.
I had the misfortune to visit this and i use the phrase loosely Hotel last september with my family.
The 'food' i would not give to a stray dog,it is not fit for human consumption. infact the chinese would of been hard pushed to eat it (i have been to china and they eat anything that moves)
We spent £500 not previously budgeted for on our all inclusive holiday, to enable us to eat!
the beer ran out 3 times during the week, as the supplier suddenly changed, only very cheap and nasty brands of vodka, gin and whisky were included.
Yes i didnt pay much, £320 each for a week, but i at least expected to be able to eat for this, and before anyone comments i have been to turkey before and love local food.
the rooms were tiny, with broken showers which fell off the wall when turned on, chunks kicked out of the walls.
Even Fawlty towers would of been an improvement on this.
The bar staff were rude and couldnt be bothered with you, too busy chatting up lasses.

Advice: quiet, traditional resort, if you want something with a bit of life go to neighbouring hisaronu.

Activities: lemon tree - hisaronu - great food amazing service, , olu deniz - gorgeous

" Sandra Sheridan "

After reading some of the negitive reviews on this site I feel I must explain my stay at the Olive Garden. We have just arrived back in england after a two week stay at the Olive Garden Hotel. We had a fantastic time Yilmaz cannot do enough to please his customers, he is one fantastic guy. Naz and Izmet are two really friendly guys. Our stay here was made welcoming by all. We met some really great holiday makers. The food is typically TURKISH yes youe brits that complained about the lack of english food you travelled to Turkey for christ sake. Have you all forgotten the old saying "When in Rome"? I would challange anyone of you moaning people to try to get all inclusive in Britain for £15 per night NO WAY would you find that here. If you want to eat english food holiday in Blackpool or Clacton. There was a few moaners at the Olive Garden always complaining but yeah youve guessed they was always the first in the queue at feeding time. These people was in Yilmaz face every day complaining Yilmaz handles his self very well never once did we see him being abusive to any one. This man deserves a medal. He works very long hours as do all his staff well I would like to see the moaners keep up with them. They probably work for a pittance not one person who moaned on here would put the same hours in for the wages they recieve. We are going back to the Olive Garden next May that is how much we enjoyed it. Thank you Yilmaz for making our stay such a pleasent one. See you next year. God Bless you all.xx

" We had a fantastic time !! "

We stayed at the Olive Garden Hotel and had a fantastic time !! For the price you pay to stay at this hotel i dont know what people expected . I paid next to nothing to stay here for 2 weeks ! The food was salads , pastas , rice ,soups , and then your main course of things like curry chicken ,spaghetti bolognaise ,beef stew , chips , veggies that kind of thing and nice too !! Put it this way , we never starved the drinks were vodka ,gin ,raki and rum and effes beer with branded mixers .The staff were brilliant and could not do enough for you . Yilmaz the manager was excellent and made our stay enjoyable he was great fun ! Naz and Ismet ran the bar and restaurant and worked very hard . They were great fun too ! The rooms are clean and tidy and it is situated in a good place just a 15 min walk to Hisaronu with bars , shops , and restaurants on the way . Theres also lots to do here like boat trips , jeep safari , turkish baths/ massage etc ... I have read the reviews people have wrote about this place and cant believe it ! Your holiday is what you make of it we had a great time but if you want to sit around the pool and moan all day as people did what do they expect all i can say if you want a five star holiday pay for it !!!! This place was reasonably priced and cheerful were going back again nxt year cant wait ! Thanks again to Yilmaz , Naz and Ismet for making our stay a good one and the chef !! see you all next year Robbie and Angie xx

" I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, i... "

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, i think all the people who give this hotel 1/10 are either snobs or just live to moan, during my stay at Olive garden, i enjoyed everyday as if it was my last. I payed £72 a week, which works out as £10 a night and i got all my drinks all my food and i had a place to sleep, I thought the food was nice, and as i say for £10 a night you carnt expect 22oz steak with golden chips, As a fussy eater my first thoughts of the breakfast was " thers no way i am eating that" But on my last day i tried it and i am very very sorry i didnt try it on the first day. The bar staff ISHMET , NASMI AND EMOSS where brilliant, they where funny, polite, kind and would do anything to make your holiday the best! You can enjoy a quite holiday or you can enjoy a loud holiday as hisaronu is just a 10 minute walk away or a bus can pick you up anywhere on the road out of the hotel, and that is just 1.50. I have just turned 17 in july an went with my boyfriend (20) my mum(40) and dad(43) my aunty(44) and unlce(46) an my cousin(32) at all different age ranges every one of us enojyed it to the fullest. We are arranging to go back next year at the beginin of september as this year we got thunder storms, but they did make the day after so much hotter. When we was there, there was a few moaning familys a old couple and a scottish family of three they sat around for a whole week moaning at anything they could but where still the first scoffin the food and drinkin the drink, it gave us something to laugh at really. The room my mum and dad where in was fantastic, Two bedrooms, a bathroom a kitchen/ living room with two couches a table and a fridge, as the very helpfull staff they are we was all suposed to have all inclusive rooms but touching lucky they got self catering rooms which was very kind. Ishmet one of the very lovely turkish bar staff with very little English but was rapidly learning was the most sweetest turk i had ever met he was only about 16/ 17, he was working at the hotel alone and he had not saw his mum for a year, his plans where to go home after a year and give her all the money he had worked for. We moan at workin 8 hours a day, but these boys work every minute of there lives, how any one could moan at the work they do is unreal. Emoss the manager is brilliant, people have wrote he is arragant, but you will find the people who have wrote this have gave him hell for the time of ther stay, i didnt find one thing wrong with him what so ever he would sit with us and have a chat. Nasmi was also a very kind a funny man, he would play pool with my boyfriend every day with out a doubt to " KICK HIS [--]" they got a really good friendship. Alls i can say is if your up for a laugh and want a care free holiday then this is the place, its not the Hilton but if you enjoy it then it can be anythin you want it to be. On out last day all the bar staff got the lads Liverpool tops and where very very made up ! They saw us off when the bus came to pick us up, an i must say i think they will miss us more than anyone they have ever missed, i cannot wait to go back next year my holiday ther was AMAZING !! THANKS BOYS FOR MAKING IT ONE TO REMEMBER !!!!!!!!!!!!

FOR ALL YOU MOANING PEOPLE YOU GOT WHAT YOU PAID FOR !! BOOK THE RITS IF THATS WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO EXPECT !!!!!

TEN OUT OF TEN !!!!!

" I can only discribe this hotel as a... "

I can only discribe this hotel as a complete shambles!!! and for the people that rated this place 10/10 I would hate to see what you have stayed in before. I do not expect to eat english food, but I do expect the food to be edible not covered in flies, and enough to go round. I would also like to eat off clean plates with clean cutlery, not rinsed under a tap and put back on the table wet. The room was very basic, I could not unpack my case as there was nowhere to put my clothes. I am not a moaning brit, but this place should be given to the many goats that roam this area as they would feel at home. all I can say is the Turkish people are lovely, the area is lovely, and we met some very nice people who made our holiday. So please beware do not book the OLIVE GARDEN HOTEL, and to anyone who has GOOD LUCK !!! as we know what it is like.

" My husband and I have just returned... "

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the 'olive gardens' hotel. We have travelled abroad many times and have stayed in many hotels; never however in such a dump!! We are absolutely amazed at the few comments some people have made, stating how marvellous it is!!! Where were you looking... you definitely should have gone to specsavers!!!
The hotel is dirty, the pool is cloudy, the grounds are appaulling, the restaurant (more like a shed) is filthy and the food; well what can I say, other than it is layed out waiting for the flies to come feast. This is not an exageration; it really is that bad.
We were sold our holiday via goldtrail and guaranteed a 3 star or above rating. This 'hovel' does not come near even a 1 star. When the rep was questioned about this she informed us very bluntly (extremely rudely actually) that it was a 3 sun hotel, which apparently is slightly less than a star rating. We were in fact sold this holiday under false pretences and to this end my husband and I will seek to recieve compensation.
We are in fact traumatised by our week away, it was that bad! One evening all the guests were united in asking for the manager to address complaints. The rep did not know how to handle this and instead of sending for managment, was aggressive and damn right rude to everybody. She clearly didn't give a 'monkeys'.
Some guests were subjected to worms coming up through the plug hole in the shower and were subsequently moved to another room. We had to endure a filthy toilet with a burnt and stained toilet seat, a filthy balcony and surrounds (burst dirty lilo's, which had obviously been there for weeks, a cup and saucer, full ash tray which was there when we arrived and was still there when we left! etc etc... I could go on).
The only way we survived the week was by going out first thing in the morning and returning only to shower and change, then out again to eat.
We had not budgeted for meals and drinks and therefore the cost of our holiday doubled at least. There is no way however, we could have eaten at the olive gardens hotel.
On our first day, we attempted to get moved from the hotel. We spoke to a lady, claiming to be the manager and she accepted that we were very dissatisfied and telephoned 'goldtrail' requesting that they move us elsewhere. We were given the opportunity to express how we felt about the hotel and that our argument was, we were sold a 3 star (not 3 sun) holiday. The woman we spoke to from goldtrail (lee) was unbelievably 'cocky' and obstinate, stating she would not move us, as we had taken a gamble booking an 'alloc on arrival' holiday. When we got upset and told her the place was a '[-] hole' she put the phone down on us. We later learned that the lady dealing with our complaint at the hotel was not management. All round we were dealing with incompetence.
If this isn't enough to put you off going, good luck as you are going to need buckets full of it!!!!!!!!!

" When i booked my holiday with freedom... "

When i booked my holiday with freedom direct on behalf of goldtrail holidays, i thought i had a bargain for an all inclusive holiday. how wrong was i when i got there!
we were a.o.a, but was told that i was guaranted a minimum of a 3 star hotel, which i thought was ok. when we checked in at the olive garden, i was annoyed, because of how mislead i was. this was not a 3 star hotel. our room was ok, but choice of food was crap. this was more like a 1 star hotel, not 3 star.
i spoke to my rep about this, and she said that it was 3 sun, i asked her to explain and she said 3 sun is less than 1 star. so why were we told that we would be guaranted a minimum of a 3 star hotel.
food was nasty with flys buzzing round it all the time, drinks were watered down and the staff wouldnt take no for an answer.
DONT GO HERE,

" I just want to say...ignore all the... "

I just want to say...ignore all the people that have given Olive Garden a overall rating of 1, its a lot of rubbish. Those people are blatently people that go on holiday and are destined to moan and cause a fuss about everything. The food was really nice, (and yes you are in Turkey so no your not going to have loads of English food, so deal with it). The pool was always clean. The staff are lovely, and will treat you with respect if you obviously treat them with respect. The rooms are basic, but your on holiday the only time you should be in your room is to sleep so what does it matter?! Ok the entertainment werent great, but if you hadn't noticed there is a massive town 20 mins down the road, which is also got fun fairs for kids, and clubs and shops for older people. Dont let the bad comments put you off, because i personally had the most relaxing and satisfying 2 week holiday.

" Just arrived back from the Olive... "

Just arrived back from the Olive Garden Hotel and I would like to comment on the hotel.
The rooms are basic but clean the pool was adequate . The entertainment rubbish and the bar closed at 11pm for all inclusive guests which I felt was to early. The reason for rating the hotel so low is the disgusting food that was dished out day after day. Breakfast was boiled eggs or omlettes with a selection of sliced meats and cheese . Lunch and dinner were much the same, a selection of salads that were not always fresh with plain rice or pasta with no sauce or meat and on the odd day when there was meat or sauce you could not eat it as it was to salty. Chips were served on a regular basis as this is what they thougth english guests wanted. So be warned stay away!!!
All other comments made on this site are all true so, please do not think we are being picky or think that it can't be that bad as that is what we thought before we went but regret going now.

" Hotel is very clean and tidy and we... "

Hotel is very clean and tidy and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily and beds made for you. Maids did not speak english but were helpful and friendly. Water always hot for shower and tv worked although no english channels. Air con was independent and you had to ask for the remote control to work it.

Food is repetitive and unless you're willing to try non english food you may go hungry! Fresh omlette for breakfast only once in a week which was a shame as very popular. Birds were nesting in the restaurant area, just made sure we didn't sit under them!! Although we were all inclusive, we did eat out a couple of times. Not much in the surrounding area to do but was good if you wanted a quiet time.

No entertainment whilst we were there, but they did try include you if anything was being organised.

The pool is very clean and clear and cleaned every night, you can see the bottom of it, so don't know what other people are saying. Never had a problem getting a sunbed but sun shades were limited.

Overall I would book this hotel again. You get what you pay for but be careful you don't pay too much as when we spoke to other people at this hotel they had paid up to four times as much as ourselves!

" I am lucky that I have never before... "

I am lucky that I have never before had a bad experience on holiday, that is until I went to The Olive Garden Hotel. When we arrived we were told they had no room available for us, as the previous people's flight had been delayed and they had kept the room on. We were sent to another hotel and were given a room in what looked like the staff quarters, until a room became available. We returned to The Olive Garden in the afternoon and were shown our hotel room - about the size of a cupboard with a single bed that me and my husband were supposed to share! We had to find and pay for alternative accommodation elsewhere. Eventually on the second day we did get a room - in the basement with a balcony that faced a brick wall and rows of washing drying on lines! Their attitude was appalling, they couldn't care less. Please , please do not go there. We work all year to have a good holiday not to be stressed and have it ruined by people like this.

" After reading through reviews before... "

After reading through reviews before I went to this place mostly were positive. Now I have indured a 2 week stay I would strongly recommend you don't go or book a diffrent hotel. I am seriously dubious of people giving this place above a 2 rating. If this is your first visit to Turkey all I can say is This is not a good representitive of Turkey not all Turkish people behave to visitors in this way. Yalmaz and Rifatt {manager and One of the many owners} appear to be on a mission to single handedly ruin the Turkish tourism market firstly. Yalmiz will not accept any complaints he is obvousley deaf {volume of music is shockingly loud} He evidently dines on chicken nuggets, Fish fingers, boiled pasta {with no sauce or anything} brussell sprouts, loads of salad oh and a rather strange tasing soup type thingy. I have been all inclusive in various locations around the world and yes drinks are either 24 hour within the complex or up until midnight. Oh must point out Yalmaz is not Turkish but a Kurd. Now Rifatt the owner well he is the man that rarley smiles and will not ask guests if they are enjoying the holiday his son is the rather annoying child whom with squirt guests with a water pistol or jumps in the pool soaking them. I may also point out staff DO NOT Eat the buffet food {wonder why} Talking of complex the place has one area for entertainment {belly dancer on a wednesday night and a kinda yes yes entertainment later rest of the week} It would be akined to a large bus shelter with a small under stocked bar, birds nesting on the roof trusses kinda dump. I also heard the place was facing closure at the begining of the year its well known in Ovacik as a joke. I witnessed guests in tears by the pool and in the evening. Stranglely enough the only person I did find to be any help was the accountant she did go out of her way for us as 3 kids landed up in the hospital. I would also like to comment on the pool it is cloudy and it has Alpo Hotel written on the bottom when it clears{once a week} Yes we all slap ourselves in sun cream but why does every other hotel I visited manage to keep their pools crystal clear? ban sun cream I think not maybe Olive gardens should call the pool guy. This is an honest opinion of this place If your used to lower market places and a barage of abuse from Yalmiz well this is the place for you. If you want a relaxing holiday that you can smile with fond memories of and book up time and time again well steer clear of The Olive Gardens. On the uphand the younger staff are good. Broken english yes {I never learned Turkish before I went and in all fairness I am in their country.} But you will get there in the end. They are always smiley and appear happy and will go out on a limb for you. The rooms are clean small yes but again house keeping staff ar happy to help you.
