" instead of writing out a whole review... "

instead of writing out a whole review i'm just going to copy and paste an e-mail i just sent to the manager of the hotel

********DO NOT GO THERE ************

Hello,

I’m writing this e-mail to tell you my thoughts on our holiday in the Olive Garden hotel from 2nd August – 15 August 2007. Our first impressions of the hotel were good. We were greeted at the front of the hotel and taken to our rooms straight away. The room was smaller than I expected but looked fairly clean. We then went to the bar to get 2 bottles of water which we were charged for and it was at that point that we were told that the all inclusive started at 10.am. This is one thing that bothered me as I have been to lots of hotels and they all start from 7am when breakfast is served so why do you start at 10am ?????.

Your food at your hotel is terrible. The best meal we had was on Turkish night and I had to pay for it!!!!!!!!!!! The breakfast is below average and I refused to eat it. 95% of your customers are British and you really think that we eat olives for breakfast? You need to include a full English breakfast in your all inclusive package to keep people at the hotel. The lunch and evening meal were “ok” if you were only there for 1 week but by the time we got to the 2nd week of our stay the food was disgusting and everyone at the hotel was saying the same thing. We know you have the facilities to cook better food as you have another menu which is better, but you want to charge people money to eat from it!!!! To make matters worse when your family and friends all come to dinner at your hotel you serve them good food and have a waiter on your table all night, the service that you and the rest of your staff offer is terrible! The worst service I have ever experienced in any hotel in the world. The only good waiter you have is Sinbad, he is very good at his job. I was absolutely disgusted that your staff only come and offer people drinks after 11pm when we have to pay for it! For that reason alone I refused to spend any money at all in your hotel. On a good note your hotel is in a very nice area so maybe there is hope for you in the future. I do hope that you listen to what people say and stop making excuses for everything that people are telling you but I don’t think you will.

I have told every person I know about the olive garden hotel and told how disgusted I was at your staff and the way you treat your customers. I have also written reviews about your hotel warning people not to go there as I wouldn’t want anyone to witness the experience we had at this dump

" This was a holiday from hell!

This was a holiday from hell!
The food was awful with very little choice so I lived on salad & chips. Some days you couldn't eat the food then I would go out for a meal (that’s how bad it was) I travelled
on a one way ticket ..

I also found that the managers & staff were not helpful, I was ask in front of other guest by the pool for money, they said I owed money when there was no way did I owe money to them the guy who asked for the money was name Mustafa.

I could go on for ever & ever about this hotel and it would be all bad comments from myself!!

" I stayed at the olive garden hotel... "

I stayed at the olive garden hotel for one week in at the start of August I really enjoyed the holiday the hotel was very central to Hisaranu and very clean.

All the staff are so friendly and make your stay enjoyable. The food is very basic but edible so don’t worry.

There is plenty of bars shops etc very close by and the markets not long on a Dolmos.

If I had the chance to go again I would.

" Just came back from fantastic holiday... "

Just came back from fantastic holiday with this resort Olive Garden. All I can say is the place is perfect. As they have mentioned on their web site, the place is only ten minutes away from the where all bars and restaurants are.

We booked as all inclusive and the food was lovely, the chef must be the best in that area! The rest of staff, as you expect in Turkey, were so helpful and so nice to everyone in the hotel and making sure they are all ok.

Don’t know why people still complain about this place, just go and see for yourself - you will enjoy it.

" This is the worst hotel I have ever... "

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in or seen! We went all inclusive and the food was revolting; only one choice for your main meal and it was absolute rubbish. There was never once in the two week any dessert of any type. Every single meal was rice and chips with a single choice. We ate out all the time and spent a fortune which was annoying as we had paid all inclusive. It took ages to get served unless it was after 11 o’clock which by then you had to pay so they went straight there to serve you.

The only thing good about this hotel is Emin who worked on the reception, he was lovely and tried to help all times.

Ovacik has nothing around but Hisoronu about 1 mins walk away is brill and so is the beach, but please think twice before booking this hotel.

" Our first holiday in Turkey was... "

Our first holiday in Turkey was terrible thanks to this hotel, it was appalling - the food, the people and the place. Olu deniz and Hisoranu was absolutely amazing!!! Harmony bar, you must go there! very friendly people and fantastic atmosphere, something for every one there.

The people in Olive Gardens were very ignorant towards you and did not offer to help you with luggage like every hotel would. Do not book your holiday here. We are going back to Turkey soon and I cant wait, Turkey is great but the hotel was terrible.

" Would just like to agree with the... "

Would just like to agree with the ladies comments previous to mine! I have been to Turkey four times before this visit! Until now I could not fault it! This hotel makes Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz! As for the chap that said he loved the place and so will you, he can only be a partner in the hotel, as I booked the hotel on the back of his comments. Many thanks!!!

Please trust me when I say I did not speak to one person that had anything good to say! The food was awful, (and I’m really not fussy) the staff although at times trying to be nice were the most creepy bunch where the women were concerned, it got quite tiresome for some of them after a while.

In a week we had our towels changed once, we took them ourselves in the end. We were charged extra for absolutely everything they could blatantly get away with. The new owner was confronted on a few occasions by different people, myself included, but I have to say that he is so up himself that it was all falling on deaf ears!

All that said because the complex is small you do get to meet everyone, and we met some lovely people. Although the topic of conversation between us all was about how bad the place is, because it was so bad it was funny! Food 1-10, room 3-10, staff 4-10. Avoid! Avoid!

" I went to this hotel with my 11 year... "

I went to this hotel with my 11 year daughter and had a lovely holiday. The Hotel facilities are adequate. Having read previous reviews before I went, I knew what to expect. To holiday in Turkey in a small Hotel as this one was, is for people who want to completely relax and 'do their own thing'.

All the staff were lively, friendly, keen and helpful. English was spoken by some, but that is usually the case when you travel abroad! My experience was a good one, the B&B side of it was fine. The A/I was not an option - the food was tedious and un-interesting - there was an option for B&B guests to eat there, at a small cost, but it was not something I signed up for! I recommend going to the many Turkish eateries in the nearby town. It was so cheap to eat out and enjoy what was on offer.

This Hotel is simple, clean, basic but it was not expensive to go, so you get what you pay for! No loud music blasting all day, no annoying 'themed nights' thrown at us every night, just the laid back, relaxing hospitality of the Turkish people who ran it.

The pool was clean & safe. The loungers were comfortable and every night the pool area was cleaned up and transformed into a pretty outdoor restaurant setting.

In summary, a cheap holiday at a good hotel in a beautiful setting with hard-working and friendly staff.

" My family & I could not have... "

My family & I could not have wished for a better holiday.

Very friendly, we were greeted at the hotel & this in all made our holiday one to remember and will be returning again next year... 110% all round

the food was a bit Turkish but ok, chips served with every meal.

There rooms where we stayed were cleaned ever morning if required, fresh towels every day.

All in all for a three star hotel I could not fault it.

Many thanks to the staff for all their help, this we all added to a good holiday.

" We returned from a week here on 29th... "

We returned from a week here on 29th June 2007. We went All Inclusive but were very disappointed in what we actually got.

The hotel itself is lovely, set in well kept gardens, and the staff are what you usually expect in Turkey, helpful, cheerful etc. They are however having to deal with complaints on a daily basis from the vast majority of those staying there.

Firstly the meals. The hotels website states that there is a choice of meals. This is not the case. There is the usual Turkish breakfast but avoid the eggs as they are so overcooked its worrying.

Lunch and evening meal is a set menu with no choice and is written on a board by the pool for the forthcoming week. 6 out of 7 evening meals are with chips, sometimes with chips and rice. The usual is chips and nuggets, chips and meatballs, chips and casserole.

The food is not what seasoned travellers will be used to from Turkey. The mesas are limited here, dessert is rare, and if you have special dietary problems forget it.

I returned a whole grilled fish on a plate of spaghetti as I am allergic only for it to be replaced with a plate full of spaghetti and when I asked for sauce or something to accompany the pasta I was given the ketchup bottle.

There is rarely fruit juice available with breakfast and don’t be hoodwinked into accepting freshly squeezed orange unless you are prepared to pay 3ytl. There are no snacks available throughout the day, a must if you are with children.

Rooms are not cleaned every day. Complaints were being put to the new manager but he was insistent that he was in the right. The hotel was nowhere near to full and the overall consensus of those there at the time was that when the season’s gets into full swing the hotel will not be able to cope and there will be anarchy.

It’s a good job the surrounding area is superb, the restaurants are brilliant, but if you are paying for A/I and have limited spending money beware this may not be the hotel for you.

I have travelled to Turkey many times and know what to expect but this hotel did not offer anything that I have experienced in this wonderful country before.

" I stayed here for 2 weeks in May and... "

I stayed here for 2 weeks in May and had the most enjoyable time ever.

The hotel is within walking distance of Hisaronu where all the bars and restaurants are.

I have stayed in this resort before but the hotel I choose this time really made my holiday fantastic. The staff were wonderful, so much fun and very attentative to the finest detail.

The setting of the hotel is beautiful, set amongst the mountains in a really quiet area, it was peaceful and surrounded by olive groves.

The rooms I believe had just been refurbished. They were spotlessly clean with the maids in very day.

Whilst there, they held their Turkish evening. I'd seen Turkish dancers before, but not like this. Talk about a cross between the Riverdance, and Russia, so entertaining...we had 20 mezes and then a barbeque with rice and chips, burger, meatballs, chicken.

Following this was the most colourful and tasty dish of fresh fruit I have ever tasted! Yum yum.

I travelled here on my own. Although I knew the area from before, I explored a lot more whilst there. A new experience was eating in the fish market, in Fethiye.

You pick your fish, pay a small amount for it, and then take it to one of the surrounding restaurants where for less than £2 they cook it for you and supply garlic bread and salad. Musicians come around the tables and play and people were up dancing. A fantastic night had by all.

Off course just down the road in the opposite direction you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Olu Deniz, 10 minutes from the hotel.

Here you will also find the Blue Lagoon, peaceful, blue waters, surrounding mountains, where paragliders from all over the world float above you and off course the blue blue sky, heaven on earth.

I just love this place, you will too.
