Las Marinas Apartments Reviews
" Las Marinas May 09 "
Submitted By: janice17@tiscali.co.ukPool area very quiet and no need to fight for a sunbed. 1 euro charge to hire matress for beds though. 10 minute walk to beach & restaurants. Reception staff extremely unfriendly, had breakfast a few mornings at the pool bar, served without any pleasantries or even a smile.
Matagorda is a very quiet resort. Discovered a beautiful restaurant called Jazz bistro and visited it 3 times in a week. Food was outstanding, top class.
Puerto del Carmen busier for nightlife and restaurants seemed less expensive than in Matagorda.
Lovely beach 8 euro daily for sunbed hire, could be quiet windy at times.
Advice: good resort for chilling out and having a relaxing holiday
Activities: favourite restaurant Jazz Bistro
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Ms M.O WeeleThe shopping/nightlife/restaurant area was a mixture of tacky souvenir shops, several british bars and a variety of cuisine. This was fine for what we wanted but quite touristy - not somewhere to go to see the traditiional side of the island. However we enjoyed the food, which was reasonably priced and always accompanied by genuinely friendly service. We particularly recommed the sushi restaurant Sapporo. Also, the buses are regular, cheap and air conditioned, so for shopping its worth getting them to Puerto Del Carmen. All in all we really liked the holiday and would recommend the resort to anyone looking for a relaxing beach holiday.

Submitted By: Other . IrwinAlthough apartments were a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Matagorda, this was a pleasant and non-exhausting. Local taxi service into neighbouring villages worth every euro -very good value. Local super markets save the hassle of carrying groceries and open to 10pm each night. Beautiful island will definitely return as felt all round was good family accomodation and value for money.

Submitted By: Miss NL GrayMatagorda is reasonably quiet, however busy Puerto del Carmen is a 5min taxi ride away. There are so many restaurants and bars to choose from. We had an excellent meal in a restaurant called Las Casscada, its very busy and the surroundings are beautiful. Make sure to visit the old town, there is a shopping mall with a massive Zara and Mango which my sister and I had a ball in. P.S don't take the boyfriends, they just get in the way! Down at the Pier in the old town there are some lovely restaurants. The prices are very reasonable.
NIGHTLIFE - the nightlife is brilliant although you get hassled from the PR people to drink in their pub, that can be quite annoying. There are clubs also, the drinks are fairly cheap, its generally buy one get one free on most drinks including cocktails which is well worth it. You can even eat really late if you are hungry after the nightclub, there are loads of chinese restaurants open until all hours.
I would thoroughly recommend a winter break to Lanzarote!!
Have a nice holiday.

Submitted By: Mrs M MacLeodThe maid service was thorough and always with a smile and some help with adding to my Spanish vocabulary. Pool area was very clean and well protected from wind even though it was on top of a hilly area.
Bus stop was close, taxis closer, and with 3 days car hire it meant shopping was no problem for heavier things if planned well. Quieter than Puerto del Carmen, but that suited the chill out factor.
I would go again - perhaps for the whole month of November, as I know the area and could hire any electrical equipment necessary. Was seriously thinking of buying property here for winter visits - hence the repeat visits to Matagorda - but somewhere like this would do nicely instead!

Submitted By: Mrs K McGroartyThe accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. You could hire anything else that you might require (DVD players etc) from reception for a fairly reasonable price.
The apartments were very pram friendly as there were ramps anywhere that there were stairs and our apartment was on a single level although they are on the top of a fairly steep hill which we could manage with the pram but if you had a wheelchair it would not be recommended!
The reception staff were excellent. Great for local knowledge. They recommended the Matagorda Park Restaurant to us the first night but we had a look and went elsewhere. We ended up going there on the last night and it was the best meal we had all week.
Matagorda itself is very clean and has a lovely promenade. There is a square which has loads of restaurants in it - Chinese, Greek, Indian (bit pricey! They charged an 800% markup on their wine from the supermarket price), Japanese and the usual Pizza, Pasta, Steak places that you get in Spain with pictures of the food outside. It is quiet though - but with that came peace when choosing a restaurant as there were no touts trying to drag you into places.
We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

didn't have much to do with the staff, they were pleasant and helpful when we did have questions and queries. Very quiet while we were ther which suited us fine, we had a car so would drive around and get back and have a bit of swim in the pool - bit on the cool sde but ok when you got used to it!!!
Lovely apartments - fairly basic but enough for what we wanted, they were cleaned regulary.
You are near the airport but the planes don't bother you
there are plenty of places to eat nearby but nicer to go to the old town for a more authentic canary island meal.
The bars nearby are typical tourist ones but friendly people, reasonable price beer and bit of singing - easy night out!!!!!
would definatley come back to these apartments
Advice: Great area of Lanzarote - give it a try!
Activities: Something different hired a bike and cycled to Ariceffe along the new beach cycle path- brilliant
Good for: Beach
