Las Piramides

We were in January for a week holiday in the hotel. In the begin the general appearance was looking all right. But when we settled down we noticed that the room was dusty, mattresses and blankets and bath towels were very old and worn-out. No air condition. We had to ask several times to get a new mattress - which we finally got.
The noise outside was disturbing at night. Breakfast was OK.

When we first arrived at the hotel it didnt look much from the front and it looked quite plain and boring from the outside.Inside there was some modern parts but most parts of the hotel were okay. The corridors to our apartment werent very well lighted and were quite narrow. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our apartment was a studio with an extra temporary put up bed, the apartment was quite spacious with a balcony. There was a wardrobe, plenty of drawers, a safe, 2 large mirrors and a table and chairs. There was also a small kitchenette with a microwave and fridge, we didnt use the microwave at all but the fridge came in quite handy. When we first arrived at the apartment we found that the fridge wasnt working so we had to call out a member of staff which was quite irritating. Our balcony was very nice, there was a table with chairs and a clothes maiden and it had a view of the pool below. We didnt go into the pools a lot only once but they were very cold so we didnt stay in there long. The food in the restuarant was a buffet and the same every night. In breakfast we suspected some food had been sitting there for a while. There was always a long queue for drinks that took a while but that didnt really bother us. We mainly sat outside when we ate there but there was a lot of smokers there and screaming kids running around the place which wasnt good. The hotel was quite close to the beach hich was a relief as we only had to walk 5-7 minutes to the beach. If you are planning to go to the beach nearest this hotel the sunbeds are 5 euros.

service and location was perfect
the room was clean and tidy but we did have three little visitors ( cockroaches)
food was all ok and plenty full
It was our 1st time at las pirimadas and found it to be ok because after we had booked we then read reviews and we were really concerned ,we where very disapointed not to actually get to stay in the complex we seemed to be put in with the residents in a another block through two gates away from the main resort . The pool was nice ( cold when you 1st went in but got used to it and loads of sunbeds but needed to be early to get one .No real entertainment at night apart from a bird show and a reptile show ok for the younger generation but not realy for adults.I would definatly go again

Got there early hours of the morning and the place did look a sight, However the next day we had a look around, the building itself was abit dated but in some places modern. The pool was brilliant, and the pool with the little appartments was really modern and great for catching the rays. The food was ok but very same food pretty much every night, breakfast and tea are the best times to go avoid dinner cause alot of it is from the night before. The weather was amazing 32+ everyday, sea is great nice and clear you have to keep walking to the man made sort of beaches as the locals beach is just full or rock etc.
Nightlife is good lots to do but there are LOTS! of lucky men about, best advise if you want something is to only say you have 5 euros or what ever you want to give them on you. THERE IS NO AIR CON! We had to rent fans! Other than that we had a great time :)

I have just returned from 1 week holiday and found it not as bad as some of the reviews been given.
I knew before I booked the holiday that this was a party place for young people. So people wanting to take young family is a definite NO NO in any hotel in Las Americas due to veronica strip.
I found that food was ok and the staff were helpful whenever you wanted a drink from the bar.
There were times where there was cups left on the floor, however there are many bins around the pool to put empty cups in bin and I found people were lazy. The staff seemed to clear as much as they could however people were wanting drinks re-fill.
Good beer available in san migual. There were only a handful of chairs available outside in the evening and people were sitting on sun beds. I would suggest putting more table and chairs out as no air conditioning in the hotel.
Overall the hotel is 3 star, reading the other reviews before I left I was expecting worse then I experienced.
Recommend for young couples and singletons but not families. Only short walk to Veronica Strip and only short stay of a week I would recommend.
Hope the review helps

The bar signs state only 1 drink per person for all inclusive guests. This rule wasn't applied for white Europeans. I felt
It was however applied in my case as I happened to be a British citizen of Indian origin. I was disappointed as I have been a British citizen for more than 50 years, and I have been a UK resident for more than 40 years.
From a UK and a business perspective, the hotel management and the Tenerife tourist authorities must address this issue

Management, reception, bar staff, restaurant staff to cleaners and maintenance were very polite and helpful. They all worked hard to run a busy hotel which has only been let down by certain holiday makers who think all inclusive means free drinks free drinks and more free drinks and lazing around the pool all day getting drunk.
The food was average, not that tasty, however there was a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Most days the dishes were the same.
We were all inclusive meals and drinks, but only had breakfast and evening meal as we were out everyday. During the day we ate outside.
The hotel can be a bit noisy at night as certain drunken holiday makers make their way across the corridor to their rooms.
We were originaly on the ground floor and within 1 hour of arrival complained about people hanging around and constantly walking past looking through our patio door. The management kindly moved us to second floor as there was some spare rooms. I believe it must be more relaxing on the 2nd floor and above away from the noise on ground floor and away from the main pool.
The main pool was noisy and untidy and full of mainly lager louts abusing the free drinks system. There were beer cups and cigarette ends and half eaten food plates all over the floor around the pool. This is not the staff's fault as they made every effort to clean up the mess. The ignorance of certain holiday makers spoilt the atmosphere of the hotel.
Not much evening entertainment besides bird shows, during the day there is table tennis or pool competition. Nothing really exciting for the children to do. The hotel gets zero for entertainment.
There is no air conditioning in the room, so you need to hire a fan from reception and for security hire the safe too. The room had a fridge and kitchen units and a electric hob. Dressing table and table and chairs. Bathroom had shower sink toilet as expected but could do with regrouting.
Not recommended for families with young children, however on a positive note the beach is only 10 minutes walk and most of the clubs are 10 minutes walk from hotel. Siam Park, Aqualand and Jungle Park are only 10 to 15 minutes by transport.

my holiday was a night mare from day one
i never received the holiday i paid for and First Choice is out of Order sending families to a hotel that holds Stag and Hen Party's and this is a 18 to 30s holiday resort NOT for famlies with children
Me and my children where threatened by drunken teenagers because I objected to them Pooing and urinating and vomiting in Kids pool and throwing food plates classes in Kids pool I reported to hotel and to security
There was couples having sex on balconies in full view for every one to see . I reported to reps as well and they said they had a number of complaints and some teen had been removed from Resort for there behaviour
But this did not stop the new lot of drunken load 18 to 30 to arrive shouting drunken abuse to family holiday makers with young children like my self and throwing chairs in the pool area and using constantly disgusting verbal language to all hours
There was broken glass in children’s pool and round surrounding pool area with cigarette buts and vomit and drunken teens sleeping round pool area from a drunken night out before
THIS WAS A HOLIDAY FROM HELL
My room was crawling with ants and cockroaches which I reported to reps and hotel staff
I was forced to buy insect killer on daily basis to try and control insects getting in suitcase in case I invested my own home on returning
I had two single beds in my room which where broken and I reported to reps and two single beds where put in my apartment but broken ones left, the apartment was worse then a squat
I felt very unclean staying in this apartment, I asked hotel staff to move me but was told was fully booked
The staff got fed up with me complaining as I reported security braking in to apartments from the front of hotel they interred the apartments by climbing from one balcony to another .but was told at reception that they was helping a holiday maker because they lost there key.
Then holiday makers where complaining of there apartments being robbed . I on a number off occasions came back to find my apartment door left open and when reported was told the cleaners must have forgot to close, but my apartment was never cleaned in the two weeks I was there and beds never made and sheets never changed and bins never empted I reported this to reps who said they had lots of complaints regarding this and a lot of people ill with infectious Diarrhea and infected eardrums
skin infections related to pool
The food was under cooked and uneatable and we was forced to eat out the two weeks we where there
Me and my children went out first thing in the morning and arrived at night time when we had too
But we could not get no sleep because of drunken teens fighting and screaming and banning doors and fighting all night and day and with the insects crawling everywhere and being constantly in fear for our safety
Me and my children stayed in fear for the two weeks we was there from drunken bulling teens and insects we all came back ill and with ear infections this is not a family resort as advertised and is not for children
This is a yobbish hotel for drunken teens 18 to 30s and this is not what I paid for
My long awaited holiday was ruined because first choice messed up and put me and my children in an 18 to 30s resort not a family resort for parents with young children
To the point there has been so many complaint made from families that it is no longer a splash resort for 2012 and has been changed to the Parque Cristobal Bungalows & Siam park for 2012
I have all so put in a complaint to first choice like many other angry families who booked a Splash Hotel and was put in a Party Hotel for Stag and Hen Partys and 18 to 30s not for famlies with kids and not for the faint hearted.
i hope First Choice gives every one a full refund or replacement holiday

me and my partner got back from las piramides last Friday and loved it, the was a little repetitive but eating out two nights in a week was nothing as you don't go on holiday to spend the whole time in the hotel, the hotel was very clean and yes the pool area got a bit messy but that's the holiday makers fault and there was always people cleaning up, the hotel staff were lovely and all spoke English. Overall we were very happy and think people go with a closed minds and should remember they booked a 3* hotel not a 5, we have booked up to go again in January and cant wait. don't let other reviews put you off.

Just come back from a week in Las Piramids, thank god I didnt go for two weeks. Its the most skruffyest badley managed hotel I have ever been in.
The pool area was litterd with beer cups, cigarret ends, news papers.
Lager louts took over the pool with there childish show off behaviour and foul language. Not once did they use the toilets they used the pool instead. On the second day the pool had to be closed for 48 hours so it could be cleand.
When I complained to the managment about thire behaviour they said they had had lots of complaints,"BUT DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT.
All the bar staff have one speed, very slow,I think its a ploy to save on the waterd down beer. They run out of vodka at 9-30 on a few nights, hows that for organisation.
O and be prepaired to wait 20-30 minutes to get served.
The food was the same every day, most people were not very imprest along with myself.Dont think they have heard of FRESH VEGETABLES.
If you like to sit by the pool at night with a drink, go early there is only 22 chairs and they wont let you sit on the beds.
Glad to get home for a good nights sleep, becouse you dont get any there with the lager louts comeing in at 2-3-4 in the morning shouting and playing in the pool.
They say this is a hotel for children,NO WAY,18-30 MORE LIKE. Go if you must, but you will regret it.
- Advice: Put it under new managment, get more staff,

Two couples Jan 2012
Please remember that this is a three star hotel and excellent value for money !!
Location and service very good. we asked for extra pillows and they arrived within two hours.
Room and facilities very good kettle, fridge and microwave in a studio on all inclusive basis. Beds comfortable.
Good selection of drinks and snacks at pool bar. efficient service throughout hotel.
Very little noise in hotel or around pool- plenty of stag and hen groups but they were not rowdy.
Food very good- plenty of selection - some repetition obviously- but that can be expected. went to restaurant at different times and food not always hot but there is a microwave to reheat food if needed.
generally a very enjoyable holiday- remember if you want five star standards you have to pay five star money.
