Fantastic Resort

This was our second visit in two years and we were not disappointed!
We also took other family members with us this time who would definitely go back agan.
We stayed in the Village family room- fantastic. It was stated in the brochure that there would be no sea view, but we had a great view, as most rooms seemed to.
The food is still fantastic, loads of choice, freshly BBQ'd Swordfish, Tuna and Shark were delicious. No problem getting a table at the Marina restaurant before 20.00.
The staff were brilliant, the football for adults at 17.00 and kids at 20.00 was supervised excellently by Fatih. Cisqo (i hope the spelling's right) was great fun, my wife says that JJ was great to look at? Atif at the Beach Bar was a great host, and a great place to just relax at the end of the night. The girls doing the water aeorbics weren't too bad either. Ha Ha.
DON'T shop on site, it's incredibly expensive and cheaper to take a taxi to Olu Deniz and stock up on snacks, gifts etc etc. You'll save a fortune.
The evening entertainment was very professional, the Chinese Acrobats unbelievable.

Best Place Ever

We stayed at Lykia Village last year and it was brilliant! A few days after returning we booked a week's stay at Lykia Residence and it was even better. Although the Village Room was very good, the Residence was a higher standard, and amazingly it was cheaper! Mistake?
Anyway, my wife and I with our 5yr old daughter had a great time as we did last year.
We love good quality, freshly prepared food and this place will be very difficult to beat. The fresh baked bread [slice it yourself if you want] and croissants with superb Raspberry Jam was my favourite at breakfast. TIP: eat at the Residence restaurant, it seems a bit quieter than the main village restaurant, no trouble getting a table even after 8.30am. The restaurant itself has a better feel to it too, really relaxing.
We went towards the end of May and it was quite busy, but there are lots of quiet spots there as the place is so vast. Ok, getting a lounger by the poolside, especially the main Village Pool was hopeless, but we liked the beach so it did not really matter. It is difficult to believe the cheek of those people who put their towel on the sunbeds before 8am and then probably do not turn up until late morning. It would serve them right if a few towels were 'picked up' and handed in to the towels counter, they would then have to pay 15 euros per towel for 'losing' their towel.
Off to the beach, with loads of sun loungers and undercover if you want the shade.
The beach is mostly pebbles [suitable footwear advised]. But there's plenty of sand, especially towards the far end for those sandcastles.
Boarded footwalk along the whole length with VERY clean toilets nearby and also a few changing huts.
BTW you can buy a large bottled water at the bar for about 2 euros, although there are several water dispensers with plastic cups dotted around the resort - no charge.
Lunch at the Marina, with a huge variety of fresh salads. The lamb meatballs are not to be missed! A couple of glasses of beer with stunning scenery and the occasional landing by Paragliders some 30ft away from your table.
Back to the beach or up to Children's Paradise after lunch.
Unusually, this time we had 3 days of rain, the Marina restaurant was washed out once or twice, during dinner. If it looks like rain, then eat at the Residence restaurant.
Again, dinner was superb. And the deserts, what can I say, they go down well with the coffee. The red house wine was good and that is free of charge. More than 1 bottle if you want - steady on!
As you can see I love the good food, that is a very very important part of the holiday. The management of the resort is incredibly good. But they do have over 20years of experience. The place still looks good as it is very well maintained.
The only negative comments I have, is that 4 euros for 10mins on the trampoline is excessive as is 3 euros for 5 mins on the children's dodgems. No wonder those areas were very quiet. So, it is almost perfect here :-)
There's entertainment every evening, with a very professional animation team.
We are definitely going back again next year because we KNOW it is going to be really really good and we will not be disappointed.
Highly recommended, especially for families.

This is a very picturesque spot, but there are three major problems for anyone wanting to take a young family here. Firstly, the food, or rather the "Full Board Plus" option. What this means is that all meals are included, as well as local beer & wine taken with meals. Sounds great, but what it means in practice is people stay at their tables in the buffet restaurants for hours, particularly in the evening, to take advantage of the free booze. Anyone wanting a table at the outdoors marina restaurant in the evening has to arrive no later than 6.45 (15 mins before it opens), otherwise there will be nowhere to sit until 9.30-10, by which time the food begins to run out, as it will shortly close. Secondly, forget the option of hiring a babysitter for a romantic evening without the children. The hotel charge per hour per child, which transforms the reasonable £8 an hour for 1 child to £24 an hour if you have 3. If you want to get a table in the restaurant and stay out until midnight, that'll be £120 for a sitter! Lastly, the hotel takes advantage of its position some distance from Olu Deniz town, by charging a massive premium for everything you can buy within the complex. Fancy a bottle of Corona beer? That'll be £7. Need swim nappies for the kids? They won't sell you a pack, instead they sell them individually for £2 each. If you do stay here my advice is to get a taxi in to town to stock up on anything you need. When you do you'll find the local shops are actually very cheap, it's just the hotel that will rip you off.

After reading the reviews I went with an open mind. I travelled with two children ages 8 and 13. We arrived and were given the wrong room, yet to sort out who was at fault, but room was fine with a sea view, just had to sleep all in one room. Food was excellent however if you were not down by 8.30 we couldn't get a seat. The same with the evening meal get there just after 7. Service was excellent.
Pools were clean (no life guard even on the beach) and the water park was a god send.
Now for the pitfalls. Ask for an empty fridge, although I did and never got it. Prices were extortionate 2.25 euros for a can of coke, over 4 euros for a small can of red bull, 2.75 euros for a milk shake. 4 euros for 7 minutes on a trampoline and 4 euros to climb a rock wall. 30 euros for a surf board, 35 euros for a gun that shot soft balls (you'd get it here for £10). Prices were unbelieveable in the supermarket.
Football pitch by the beach should be supervised. I certainly wouldn't leave my 8 year old unattended. Children were searching for balls high on a ledge (accident waiting to happen), glasses broken (I picked some up myself to stop the kids from getting hurt), very young children wandered onto the pitch whilst teenagers were shooting the ball.
Don't agree with it but everyone does it, before going to breakfast put your towel on a sunbed and reserve it. By 9 you can't get one. Towel shop only opens from 8-11 and 4-6.30 in between that you can't get clean towels.
Final straw was when we were leaving. We had to be out of the appartment by 12. We were allowed to keep it until 3 without charge. 25 euros between 3 and 6 and then 50 euros after 6. We checked out at 3!!!!
On the whole fantastic holiday kids didn't want to come home. Shame the hotel could drop the prices, so many more people would do the activities.

We stayed in Lykia World, Olu Deniz in May 09. Myself my husband and 4 year old son. We stayed in the Residence , which is like a hotel. Great rooms, a queen size bed and a pull out sofa bed for our son. Food is amazing, great choice for kids, from chips to fresh veg everyday,so much variety and the chinese speciality restaurant was great, only 7 euros per adult extra! Everything in the hotel is priced in euros. The toys are very very expensive both on the site and in town. In Olu Deniz there is a great turkish delight shop making it fresh for you to take home!!The kids club is great. We have never put our son in the kids club but we went along one day with him and he loved it and asked to go back, they have a fantastic team and keep the kids busy all day in the shade, which even in May helped as the temperature was very hot.My husband did the paragliding, a well worth experience .
The staff are always available and helpful, reception great, our only complaintb was with Thomas Cook. Could never find rep and they lost a case of ours going home between the hotel and the airport!!! they just threw our cases out both sides of the coach and flew off before we could find our cases?
Would definitely recommend to all , we meant so many lovely people from England, from singles, to young couples to other families!! Enjoy!

i visited lykia world in september 08 i like many others read all the reviews. i find it difficult to understand how anyone could rate this holiday less than seven, even with problems this has got to be the most beautiful place in the world. i went with my family of five my sister in law and her family again five and our kids four friends, not one of us could really complain, the only problem i did have was with the kids club, my daughter did get out, luckily we were only outside by the pool but still a huge disappointment but even so i still rate this hotel 10 the food the staff the room the entertainment, the cleanliness everything was second to none. we have booked to go back the 7 september o9 i cant wait i agree that it is very expensive so taking a taxi to town to buy all you need is so much cheaper. it is very true that you get what you pay for and yes this is an expensive holiday but worth every penny it is costing just under three thousand pounds for 6 of us to go in september im taking my mum this time so she can help with my daughter. im far from rich but will save really hard to pay for this holiday cause i dont think there are many places in the world like this. has i say you havent really got to spend that much i didnt last year, i sent the kids for drinks every snack and meal times, which is at least four times a day plus the fact that they only shut for 2 hours.

My friend and i booked an all inclusive holiday with Thomas Cook to the Lykia World Hotel in Turkey. First day we decided to have a turkish adult pool. We were told to go in. We were approached by a Turkish looking guy who started to get a sponge and rub soap all over us. We thought this was ok until he put his hand on our boobs and front part. We jumped up as soon as this happened and went to the reception. We were told that this man would be found and told to leave the hotel. We dont know if it was staff or someone who was staying there. We were told to that he was escorted off the premises. We were told by a female manger that we would be compensated for this and also by a thomas cook rep. We were not even offered a free massage to get over the stress which we suffered the whole holiday. When we approched the Female Manager 4 days later and said what we be compensated with she was rude and aggressive and did not understand what our problem was about being touched by a man in the hotels turkish bath. We were given counciling by Thomas Cook when we arrived back but only because we complained by letter. After we were told that we did not qualify for any compensation of any kind. DISSCUSTING RESPONSE FROM THOMAS COOK AND FEMALE HOTEL MANAGER

We did a lot of research before booking this holiday and frankly we thought that lykia World sounded to good to be true.......... but we were wrong, it does exactly what it says on the tin. please believe all the good comments and disregard the bad ones ( these are most likely made by Numpties that would say "this gold is just the wrong shade of yellow" but hey Gold is Gold so get a life and have some fun)
Lykia World is solid Gold I do not feel that i need to reiterate the points raised by the posts that have already been made, but i thought that a number of things have been missed in these posts ,so let me cross the i's and DOT the T's (which is not as simple as it sound , mainly due to the fact that i am very poor at grammar and spelling, but bear with me if nothing else it will give you a laugh.
My wife and i along with our 2 and half and 4 year old son and daughter had a blast and the week we returned to the UK we booked for next year , we have never felt that any previous holiday warrented a return visit until we went to Lykia World, so its Gotta B good.
We had to bribe my daughter to get her out of the kids club for two days of the 14 so we could spend some time as a family, my son being 2.5 years was to old for the Baby club and too young for the kids club so we spent 14 days with him YEH!
Next year he will be in the Kids Club with his sister YYYYYYYYIIIIIIIPPPPPPEEEEEE.
So any way let me fill in a few gaps that have been missed by previous posters.
1.If you have small children do not take your buggies or prams all the way to Turkey as you can hire them FREE OF CHARGE at the hotel and they are top quality buggies with sun shades that will give full protection.
2.There is free WiFi at the complex and internet connection in all the rooms so take your laptop.
3.In the baby room they have a fridge full of UHT milk which is also free for those off furmula and filtered water for those wishing to make up baby milk, FREE
4.be sure to take some EURO COINS you will need them to tip the bell boys at the complex and get trolleys at the aiport.of cause the bell boys will take notes and the trolley touts at the airport will do the same but neither will have change to give you back!
4.within your first few days travel to Olu Deniz via cab and stock up on wine beer crisps etc at the supermarket and fill your mini fridge and cupboards with your own stuff, this is cheeky but so are the on site shops and bars. (we asked that our mini fridge was empty on arrival and no one took offence at our penny pinching.
5.they have wash rooms in serveral places around the complex so if you are going for two weeks you need only take cloths for a week, we put a wash on before dinner and tumbled over night Yeh clean cloths for brekkie. they will also do all your washing for you for a price( once again We are to tight for all that)
6.we went the last three weeks of the season and everything was in full swing until the last week when due to masive food and staff wasteage they closed several of the resturants and reduced staff, even so it was still top class
7.We are going a month before end of season next year for the above reason but i do not feel that with two young children i would like to be there at the high season because with 2000 guests, we feel it would be a queue for most things, whereas the last three weeks are slightly lonely we actually had the pool to ourselfs on serveral occasions and the kids clubs had as many staff as kids.
All in all its the dogs danglies, the knats nuts , the bees knees its a deal its a steal damn its that good we are going back next year.
Go on give it a try you will not regret it i promise.

My partner and I got home from Lykia...

My partner and I got home from Lykia a couple of days ago. We both thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week holiday.
Of course there are positives and negatives with any unknown quantity. Neither of us had been to Turkey or Lykia World before and this is what we found:
Positives:
Food was lovely great choice good for vegetarians and meat eaters alike- most dietary requirements seemed to be catered for
Marina Restaurant has wonderful views out to sea- you can watch the sunset over dinner
Breakfast was lovely again a very good choice of foods
Helpful and friendly staff
Clean and spacious room (we stayed in the Residence)
Television in the room that had at least 2 channels playing English films
Plenty of sun loungers and adequate number of parasols
Even though we don't have children we explored the Kids water park and it looked really good fun
The speciality restaurant Blue Buddha (Chinese food) was €7 per head but the food was very tasty and made a nice change. House wine, beer and soft drinks are 'free' with the meal
Lush green gardens and wonderful mountain views
Negatives:
Overpriced drinks at the bar €10 for a JD and coke and it is strictly A measure no free pouring like Spain :-(
Some of the public areas were starting to look a little tired and could do with a freshen up and lick of paint- this could be as it was the end of the season
The taxi drivers that pick up from Lykia World are quite pushy and insist on a collection time as they want the return fare. When my partner and I went into Hisanaru €50 return we wanted to ring the driver when we were ready to be collected, but he was very stroppy and insisted on us arranging a time which curtailed our night out some what!
The resort is not walking distance so you kind of have to get a taxi or a day trip if you want to explore further afield from Lykia World
Everyone wants your money- simple as that. If you have nice clothes on and jewellery etc, stall and shop owners seem to assume you have lots of money and that they have free rein to charge extra (I was told this by a shop owner) The majority of shops in the resorts don't have prices on for this very reason.
The shops in Lykia World are far overpriced crisps are about £4 per bag
The rooms don't have kettles
Overall a lovely holiday that I would gladly do again. Tomorrow!

what can i say....... we arrived back this morning and im already looking at going back next year!!!
we flew with 1st choice and have a 4month old and a 3 year old we also expereienced terrible flights. with a 4 hour flight and 2 hour transfer its enough to put you off from the start. However after several other drop off around turkey when we arrived at Lykia world olu deniz we were smiling ear to ear!!!! we arrived at 8am to helpful, friendly staff who whisked us to our room promptly. we were in olympus block with a sea view (very pleased) we were left ourselfs and after un packing went for breakfast which wasnt explained really where and how it was set out. The meals are buffet style and are very hectic and rushed, we were up and down in turns me and my partner and felt after 3 days we would of just liked a bit of waitress service.
The pools are great the main one can be very loud and not advised to be used with small kids and babies as they have games/aerobics/loud music!!!!
we really enjoyed the beach and the childrens pool. For me and the baby the kiddies club had sterilisers, fridge, kettle, microwave for mums with kids.
you will be absolutley shattered up and down the hills to the beach, and marina restaurant especially with a pushchair. Its lovely the fact the beaches are private and you dont get people trying to sell to you.
The marina resaturant is lovley and yes there are people who q at 6.30!!! to get a good table which is worth it. Drinks are pricey on top of youre room bill and babies milk cost me £20 from the onsite supermarket.
i coud go on all i can say is that our family really enjoyed it and would go back tomorrow staff are helpful and freindly and love the kids, rooms are tidyed daily, the grounds are very well maintained and the whole complex feels so safe and secure.

We have been back home a couple of weeks now and missing it so much, our three children aged 9,10and13 had a fantastic time and cannot wait to go back next year.
Having read some of the reviews before and after our holiday, one can only presume these people need to get a life.
Listen, if you want to have grrrrrrrreat holiday then this place has it all, from the entertainment, food, things to do for kids and adults, the staff where excellent even
the reception staff where really helpful, when spoke to in the right manner.
The only down side is the Russian people rude and arrogant.
