TRH Hotel El Paraiso Costa del Sol

It’s a nice hotel and I would certainly go again. It is in a quiet location but close enough to Puerto Banus and Marbella. I would recommend a car. It is great to use as a base to stay and to sit by the pool. Apart from a sandwich lunch we never used the restaurant. If your arriving by car then you'd best do your research on finding this place. The road you need to take is easily missed coming from the Malaga direction, and till this day still appears to be inaccessible from the Cadiz direction without the need of a 5mile round trip up and down the A7 motorway!! I have recently returned from a group holiday to El Paraiso. For categories of facilities, service, meals, rooms, cleanliness and interaction with the staff I would classify El Paraiso as excellent. I appreciated the friendly, efficient service by the staff. I would classify the entertainment on one evening as good and average on other evenings. My family and I have stayed at this hotel for short breaks for over seven years. We keep coming back time after time - why? Good Points: 1.Location - set in an elevated position overlooking three golf courses, all rooms have fantastic views (although it has to be said that the area is becoming increasingly developed but not enough to spoil things). 2. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I agree with some of the reviews saying it was a little dated, it was similar to being in a Columbo movie, but I cannot fault any of the facilities or staff at the hotel. Both pools (indoor and outdoor) were staffed by lifeguards despite it only being January, breakfast supplied every food known to man (including bucks fizz), the rooms were well equipped and comfortable and most of all, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Stayed on weekend golf trip. Hotel was quiet. Room very clean, although little dated. Amazing views from balcony down coast to Gibraltar - well actually lying in bed! Lunch menu and food good - only time we ate there. Indoor pool a real bonus at this time of year. Reception very helpful, sorted everything out for us, golf, restaurants, taxis etc. Internet access available and cheap. Make sure you get a pool/seaview though, they are awesome. We stayed at the El Paraiso for 3 days in early Oct and thought it was a lovely hotel. Agree with the previous reviews that say this hotel is good - but showing some signs of age (rather outdated pastel colour themes). However, rooms are big, clean and very quiet. We stayed at this hotel for a weekend's golfing break in May. The hotel was strangely quiet - could have been undergoing refurbishment. The twin room was clean and adequate, with a lovely balcony and wonderful view of the pool and coastline. The pool itself is very large, in a nice garden setting - perfect and peaceful for relaxing. Stayed there last week, we just turned up and got a good rate. It was lovely, relaxing and had very helpful and attentive staff. The bars are good also.

I have been going to El Paraiso since it was owned by the Scottish hotel chain, Stakis. The hotel is situated atop a hil with stunning views of the Med. coast, Gibraltar and North Africa. The hotel sits in acres of manacured gardens, adjacent to the El Paraiso golf course. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, although when I was there last (Aug 02), the tennis courts were out of action.
