Hesperia Granada

Very clean room, nicely furnished, not very big though. The double bed was pushed up against one wall - fine if there's just one of you, but a bit of wriggling involved to get out if you're the unlucky one on the inside! Handy free room safe. Very spacious bathroom, v. clean and marbley, fab shower pressure. We were here during Semana Santa, which makes for a very different experience. The hotel is very close to the "official" viewing stand and procession route, so it's great for that purpose. However, it also meantthat the roads to the hotel were completely closed off, so our cab could only get us to about a half-mile away, and we had to roll our bags through the crowds to get to the hotel. After reading many reviews of hotels in Granaga on Trip Advisor, we settled on this one - and what an excellent choice. Very central, handy for all attractions, but quiet and very comfortable. Staff were excellent, though getting a second cup of coffee at breakfast (no leche - black) proved a bit of a challenge! Car parking is not for the timid - but then nor is driving in Spain - but was really handy, as public car parks are all some distance. My wife and I stayed here for a few days in shoulder season (week before Semana Santa) and got a walk in rate of (100 Fri/115 Sat/80 Sun in Euros). The hotel is fairly new (2 years) and rooms are well maintained, clean and appear exactly as advertised. Desk staff was very helpful, and although modest, speak good English. Hotel was nicely decorated with local themes. Do note, however, that only one person mans the desk at times so this person is frequently overwhelmed, frazzled and may explain some of the service problems previously... more

Excellent position in a quiet square just behind the Ayuntamiento. Good standard of comfort, spacious bedroom/ bathroom. Helpful at the Reception. Decor very pleasant if a little bland. Offered very good value in early March 2006 - we paid about 75 Euros per night for a double room. Good buffet breakfast at 9 Euros including hot food. Would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Granada.

Stayed here in November 2005 for 2 weeks. The hotel was centrally located and within easy walking distance of everything. The purpose of our visit was to see the tourist attractions and also travel around Andalucia. We found it very easy to do both from this location because the bus station was a short bus ride away - when we were not travelling further out we did the rest on foot. We stayed at the hesperia Granada for two nights. The hotel is clean and it is a very nice building right in the center of the town. Rooms are well kept and spacious. Might be a be difficult to find the place since the center has been closed to private cars and the route to get to the hotel is challenging. However, this is a small price to pay for a great location only few minutes away from the bus stop to the Alhambra. We only had breakfast there. Unlike the review below, we had no problems with the hotel. We arrived early and were found a room without any fuss. The hotel is a genuine 4 star chain type hotel, but with just enough character in the location, building and fittings to be interesting.

We Stayed for a night in a double room, got different rate than what I booked on their site. They claimed we are two persons wherease the reservation is for one (Why I should book the double room?). Their online reservation didn't allow me to choose the number of persons. They did't believe it !! Another problem: Locked me down in the grage early morning on our way to Alhambra. Very friendly reception staff, speaking good English. We had booked a double room for three nights, based on Internet pictures and reviews - hotel lived up to (perhaps exceeded)expectations. Breakfast was an extra €9pppd, but a very good buffet was laid on. We later found there were few places nearby for breakfast.
