Charming, small rooms, great location, can be noisy
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is very charming. Our rooms had large wooden shutters that opened to the central courtyard. Very neat and clean with a friendly, helpful staff. The location was wonderful, just off the Plaza Nueva. It provided wonderful convenience to the Alhambra and the center of Granada. My only criticisms are that the rooms that open to the courtyard (we had rooms 14 and 23), can be noisy. The sound travels up from below and you can hear people coming and going. I would stay here again but would request rooms that don't face the courtyard.
Not for 'oldies'
from johnaitch
My wife and I are well-travelled and fit for our ages(60+). We do like a comfortable bed, somewhere to put our clothes and a bit of space. We got none of these in this hotel which is overpriced, probably because of its situation, a 20 minute gentle up-hill walk to the entrance to the Alhambra. But you don't have to stay in this area to get there as the Alhambra is well served by cheap public transport. Breakfast at the hotel looks impressive but is fairly tasteless and expensive (8 euros each). You can do better around the corner. Car...

Excellent situation, a little palace from 16th Century. Very helpfull staff, very quiet place and good price.
Inside Out -- Renaissance Moment in Granada
from Colona1988
We chose this hotel from TripAdvisor reviews. It's just what I love -- a small establishment that is right in the best site and reflects that site well. Inside was outside -- windows opened onto the indoors, yet the interior hallway was open to the outside. My husband, a Californian at heart, thought he was at home. I'm an Easterner with passion for anything medieval/renaissance, so this was like being right in a romance. The advice about parking the car in an underground lot and taking a taxi was very helpful. We walked around the ancient...

Mediocre hotel room, excellent friendly staff & accommodating for service
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband & I stayed here in early January 2006 during our self-planned tour of Andalucia. Grenada was our last stop (we started in Seville, then went to Jerez, then onto Ronda, & finished here). This hotel was the most disappointing of our entire trip. It was not well-priced for what we got (particularly compared to the other hotels we had just stayed at in other places in southern Spain). Our room was VERY compact & was a street facing room, so we had a view of the walkway/entrance area outside. And we had a first row...

Successful return visit 30th Jan 06
from manzanilla
I have had 2 more nights at this very pleasant hotel - once again in room 27. Although the day and night time temperatures were cold, the hotel was warm and the under-floor heating effective. In fact, I had to open the window during the night. The room was clean and well prepared. There was the usual peaceful atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. One of the receptionists even carried my sister-in-law's very heavy suitcase into a storage room rather than have to lug it upstairs. (we were going elsewhere and don't usually...

Diappointed
from elephantschild
This hotel has an acceptable level of comfort, and the simple charm of antique columns in the patio and lots of wooden galleries (my wife found the atmosphere 'sad'), but does not deserve its 3rd star or the inflated prices that go with it. There is no lift (elevator), and no staff to carry your bags upstairs. There is no vehicle access, and the hotel advises you to park in a public park 15 minutes walk away and cab to the hotel. In general, vehicle access to the Albayzin area is practically impossible, even in winter. I'd hate to try...

Don't expect the Ritz
from JBFlyGirl
Casa Capital is about a 15 minute walk to the Alhambra, but it is uphill. The neighbourhood is quiet, and the room was clean, but we found it a little spooky-- a heritage site haunted house. The lobby and the rooms are small, and you have to carry your bags up stairs to the hotel and to your room once inside, so not the place for someone with a lot of luggage or limited mobility. The staff was very helpful, though, and very nice. Great area, though.
Do not stay in room 27!!!
from Evilyn77
I read the reviews and thought this place sounded fine. Great location and looked lovely on the website - DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 27! I will give this hotel the benefit of the doubt and assume just this room was bad - It is tiny - just enough room for a double bed, had dirty linen and worst of all you could hear every single word that the people in the next rooms said. I heard every noise when they went to the toilet in the night as well as when they had --- in the morning. I have to say I was not amused.
Lovely hotel in a great location.
from Kate41
Before arriving, I thought this hotel looked absolutely charming on the website, and I wasn't disappointed - it looked just as good in real life. The staff were helpful and happily spoke English when my Spanish failed. I particularly liked the location of the hotel - really good for accessing the Alhambra, and just off Plaza Nueva - it's best to go just off the Plaza for better bars and restaurants. (The Central Cafe just off the Plaza was great for breakfasting every morning.) The only negative point would be that my partner found the...
