We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Zante Maris. Overall we had a lovely time, although I would not recommend Half Board to anyone.
The meals are basically the same every evening, and to be honest it all tastes pretty much the same, very bland and for some unknown reason, the chef stands over the food and watches you make your selection!
The breakfasts are much the same and not a lot of choice, even the croissants were a let down! The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Entertainment wise, evening not too bad. But of a daytime there was nothing at all.
To sum it up, I would return to The Zante Maris, but would defo recommend Self Catering. It is situated right on the beach and only a short walk to the centre of Tsilivi, where there are plenty of really nice bars and restaurants. All the staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful.

We returned to Tsilivi for the second time this year, it was also our second stay at the Zante Maris.
The hotel is in an excellent location on the beach and near to main bars and tavernas. Hotel staff were always friendly and keen to help at all hours. The room is lovely and kept spotlessly clean. The air-con is a must if you go in July/August and is included in your room price which is a bonus.
We didn't really eat that often in the hotel restaurant as we were not overly impressed with the choice. However, the tavernas in the resort are superb and good value for money. We strongly recommend Popeyes for breakfast and Romios, The Olive Garden or Family Restaurant for an evening meal. Saratseno Bar near to the hotel became our 'local' on both visits to Tsilivi and guarantees a friendly and welcome atmosphere.
Zante is a beautiful island and Tsilivi is an ideal resort if you need a relaxing break away from work and the rat race at home. We think it is best suited to couples and strongly recommend a visit to anybody who would like a taste of Greece.
We will be back-not even the airport can put us off!!

The Zante Maris is a nice clean well presented hotel which is positioned right on the beach and very close to all amenities.
All staff were very friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t venture away from the hotel too much as we only were staying for one week but we did go to Smugglers Cove which was very beautiful just as the postcards show.
We went on the First Choice trip which we were very glad because our boat approx 350 people on it but if you choice the cheaper on the side of the road option approx 1000 people on board many having no shade on board and you needed that because its an all day trip.
Food in the hotel was very nice many options to be had although not a lot of fruit. Rooms were kept very clean and tidy. We choose to have lunch in the beach bar most days it has a good varied menu. We would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

We have just returned from this lovely hotel after a two week stay. Whole hotel is spotless, bedding and towels changed daily, staff very friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Rooms very nice with fridge, kettle, TV and a small settee. We paid extra for pool view so got a nice view of the sea as well.
Breakfast was OK but fruit juices were vile and the evening meal always very bland. Small buffet area for such a large restaurant so people had to wait to get to stuff sometimes. They had air con units in there but not on during our stay even though temp reached 45. Made for an uncomfortable evening meal most nights.
Pool area very nice but usual nonsense getting a sun bed after 9.30am - you had no chance really. Food and service in the two snack bars very good. This hotel advertises daytime entertainment which is not the case, we enjoy playing games and getting to know other guests but they do not even have entertainment staff on site which was very disappointing for us. The entertainment at night is on a one week rota which we have never known before. Some nights there were outside acts, Zante Swing very good but "Elvis" left a lot to be desired once, never mind twice. Some evenings just bingo and quiz.
Drinks quite expensive as well. The resort comes alive at night, many nice bars and restaurants to choose from - most well priced. We never saw any trouble even though lots of young people, which was good. The beach which is only a few feet from hotel is lovely, sea so warm and and shallow for a long way out, which is great for kids.
Give the water park a miss though, very expensive and only 8 slides to go down and of course the queues get very big and very little shade on a hot day. The airport was OK when we arrived but departures is another matter. It is disgusting, so small, hardly any seats, toilets filthy and drinks and snacks v expensive so take stuff to eat with you or you will get ripped off.
I would not rush back to Zante again but if Hotel made some changes would consider again in the future. If you are just looking for a very chilled holiday in a nice hotel this may be for you but fun packed it is not.

This is a fantastic hotel right on the beach and near the town centre.
The food was plentiful with lots of choice and the staff in the restaurants were very friendly. The hotel has both indoor and outdoor pools with plenty of fresh towels for guests to use.
The rooms were well laid out and comfortable infact the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in. The little extras like slippers & dressing gowns and toiletries made a nice touch.
There was entertainment every night some artists were good others well what can I say!
Overall I would recommend this hotel for couples although there were a few families there with children and just one negative point is that the bathroom was more 3* but that’s a minor point if you look at the hotel as a whole.
The resort of Tsilivi was lovely a very large beach and plenty of shops and eating places.
This was my first time in Greece and it certainly won’t be my last, we loved it a week wasn’t long enough.

Just returned from a wonderfull holiday at the zante maris hotel in zante,on arriving we were greeted and our luggage was taken to our room,we were very pleased with our room it was cleaned daily with clean towels,we had a superior room which had a full sea view, the staff were very helpfull, dont bother taking towels they provide these for pool area which was also very clean, the food at this hotel was very nice, but we choose to eat out on the evening,we would recommend popeyes, the passage to india, and the olive tree, but there are loads of others, the airport has got a new terminal, but when you leave take your own food,a packet of crisp cost 2.50 euros and a soft drink cost 4.50 euros,a small beer cost 5.50 euros, they are very strict on luggage allowance, they charged 11 euros per 1kg over your entitlement, overall this was a great holiday and will hope to get back same time next year if first choice still have it.
