This is a well presented hotel in the middle of a lovely little village with easy routes by lift upto Arc2000. As the village is nestled in the mountains, it's necessary to have suitable footwear for Après Ski - trainers are not advisable (whoops!).
It's a very family orientated village, but there are bars that seem to only attract the 20-40 something’s without children - so it wasn't too much of a problem and if you eat late, then that avoids the children too.
Great range of slopes - I'm told, I didn't get further than the very pleasant blue run that runs from the edge of 1950 and then a lift back up to just above the village where you can get a warming Vin Chaud!

Just returned from a brilliant holiday in Les Arcs. We stayed in the resort 1950 'prince des cimes'. It was absolutely beautiful and a magical place to stay for Christmas. The accommodation was fantastic.
We booked an apartment for 10 people but only 6 of us went in the end, but were grateful for the extra space. I think if there were 10 of us it would have been a bit crammed! The rooms were lovely and we had a great view of the mountains and the pool. Be warned, if you are self catering the local spar is very expensive.
We only went out to eat 3 nights of the week. Il Valentinos was lovely, great service. The mexican 'Los Chicanos' was a bit disappointing. Meli's was good for a late night snack and the creperie is worth a visit.
The local ski school were great (spirit 1950) and I definitely recommend you book lessons with them direct. Much cheaper and they have their own website. Les Arcs is good for beginners. The only thing about this holiday that was a disappointment was Crystal. Do not book with them they are dreadful!
We were told by the ski school that we would not need ski passes for the first few days as we are beginners, however the crystal rep informed us that without them we couldn't get anywhere and sold us 6 6-day passes for about £900. At the time we asked, if we do not need them could we get a refund and he said yes. 4 people only needed them for 4 days (a possible saving of 54 euros)and 2 people didn't use them at all. Needless to say they would not refund the money! When the reps arrange to meet you they turn up late, they provide a lack of information and poor customer service. Our transfer coach on the way home was an hour late, with no apology or explanation from the Crystal rep!
Great resort, great accommodation 10/10, crystal 0/10.
