Cordoba Center Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days in early Jan. This hotel is within a 5 min walk from the Renfe/Bus station and 5 mins from the downtown restaurants and shops. We had a room overlooking the main street/downtown area. We were on the 3rd floor and could not hear the traffic at all. The room decorations were modern and sleek. The bedroom was spacious. We chose this place only because everything else of quality anywhere near the Mezquita was full. It is a 20/25 minute ugly walk (car lots, vacant lots, etc.) from the Mezquita. The taxi ride there sometimes took almost as long due to traffic. Significantly further beyond that to/from the train and bus stations. There is NOTHING in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, so the name “Center” is a blatant misnomer. We stayed three nights in December 2007and paid 350 Euros via a travel agent. The hotel is reasonably well situated but a longish 15 minute walk to the Mezquita. The foyer stank of smoke but the receptionists were efficient, although not particularly welcoming. The hotel plays ghastly piped music in the corridors, which can be heard in the bedrooms if you dont close the inner door. The plastic keys often do not work, necessitating a trip back to Reception. Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is within walking distance to the train station and the town centre. Our room was better than we ever expected, the rooms were large and modern and the beds were huge. The best thing was the pool on the roof of the hotel, lovely view of city and it was nice to come back and have a dip after walking around in the heat all day. If we are ever in Cordoba again we will deffinately stay here.

We spent two nights at the Cordoba Center & were delighted with our choice. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the station (however, as an earlier review noted,it can be quite hot; 33' in late Sept), 5 mins to the main shopping area & about 15mins to the historic Mezquitta & Jewish quarter. The rooms are large, modern & well finished with complete blackout curtains & huge beds. There's a roof top pool, jacuzzi, sauna & gym with great views over Cordoba. Only 2 nights in this wonderful town but the hotel was great. The write ups say it is close to the station but be advised and take a cab if the weather is very hot as it a long walk with a suitcase in 35 degrees. Reception were efficient and the room was good. The bar and lobby were very comfortable. The rooftop pool was very pleasant for both sunbathing and cooling off. Loved the facilities: modern building, great bedrooms and bathrooms, excellent swimming pool on top floor. However, hotel staff could be much more smiling: their attitude is not very friendly. All in all, very good hotel given the price we paid (60 Euros / night) and walking distance (15 minutes from Mezquita)

Bizarre place right on the ring road. Exceptionally quiet rooms despite the location. Very swish, rooms are very luxurious, double sinks, queen size beds etc. The bar/ bistro cafeteria tapas and food in general was first rate as was the service and friendliness of the staff. Never ate in the restaurant though or had breakfast. The reception staff loved themselves though and were a bit stuffy which was a bit of a shame. A real 4 star hotel for £65 a night - incredible value. Would definately stay there again and recommend it.

The hotel itself is new, very clean, the room was fine, with a big bed and the bathroom was spotless... What I really didn't like was the service at breakfast... it was extremely long. We stayed for three nights and every morning we had to wait for ages for someone to offer us some coffee. And they would never come back for a refill! All that happened while there were actually not many people having breakfast (about 20 all in all), I can't imagine what it's like during the busy months... We stayed for one night and really enjoyed Cordoba. The Hotel itself is very clean and modern and we received a free room upgrade on our arrival which is always welcome! The rooftop pool is small but has amazing views - I would have loved to go for a dip but unfortunately we missed its opening hours (open between 11am and 8pm as far as I cam remember).
