My friend & I stayed at Hotel Conquistador for two nights. This is a 4**** hotel & deserves them all. The hotel is comfortable, the staff were English speaking & could not have been more helpful. The car park was on site which was wonderful, although there was an extra... more

Best location in Cordoba
Stayed 27 and 28 Jan 2008. This hotel is overlooking the mesquite in Cordoba. It is situated in a brilliant position, within walking distance to all sites. The car parking was included in our booking, great as parking is defintely problematic otherwise. The hotel was a 4 star with small lobby and pleasant courtyard. Breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. The area had a large number of resturants to choose from for dinner as the hotel was expensive. Our room was clean with 2 beds and TV. A very clean and modern bathroom. A small entrance lobby to the room and a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. I would stay again.
Great location, room ok
bed close to the door - if people are noisy in the corridor, you won't have a good night sleep. Rather small rooms. Old style. Staff at the reception rather poor/average on arrival, ok on departure. You should not expect too much.

The Mesquita is one of the finest churches I have ever seen and this hotel is literally a few yards away. The old town of Cordoba is charming and this hotel is a fine place to stay, the rooms were excellent and the staff very helpful. The courtyard was a delight and perhaps the only drawback is the underground carpark if you have a large vehicle. Very good value for money as well.
Nice hotel, super location!
We visited this hotel in August. Its located next to the Mezquita. We asked for a double bed, but the room was very small, not to mention the bed. No problem, we immediately got another room, which was much bigger and had a better bed. The restaurant had a nice small patio. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Lunch was ok, but expensive. If you walk five minutes, then there are plenty of restaurants with good food at a good price. As you don´t need a car in the centre, the staff parked ours in the hotelparking. Hotelstaff was very friendly, did everything to help us. The location is really super, all the highlights are within walking distance.
The perfect place in the perfect location
We were a group of 16 people and the hotel made all the possible efforts to fulfill our expectations. The best part is that they succeeded. Not only the hotel is in a great location, near all the areas that you cannot miss, but also the staff is extremely friendly. Their PR manager, Carmen, made an extra effort to make sure that everything was fine. It was not needed but she did it anyway. We had a private dinner in the Almanzor lounge and it was incredibly beautiful, with a glass floor and placed over Roman ruins. I cannot imagine a better place to have a meeting in Cordoba. The location was matched with very good food and excellent service. (Not so easy to find these days). If I had to say something for the down area, I would just mention that for some reason some of the magnetic room keys didn’t work, so we had to go down, but it was just a matter of seconds to fix them. Also I would say that the hotel is better than what you can imagine from their website. Some of the people in the group had been in other good hotels in Cordoba and they didn’t hesitate to say that this was the best one by far. I prefer to be critic, but this time I’m going to recommend you this hotel.
Excellent Location, Staff, Parking - Ideal for your stay
Let's start with the only slight negative. The hotel was signed from quite some way away until the very last turn. By luck my partner noticed it up the side street. Of course, having found it, it was easy to find! The hotel could provide instructions easily but just said it is right by the Mezquita but there are four sides to that! So as for the rest. Extremely helpful friendly staff, great room looking straight out to the Mezquita, member of staff parked my car in the garage and brought it out when we left and then advised of the best route to take (which WAS the best route and the opposite way to that we would have gone!). The buffet breakfast offered a good selection including diet options although the hot food selection was, perhaps as one might expect for Spain, not of great quality. Overall, I'd judge that the quality could be improved but as always personal tastes vary so if you are into cold meats and cheeses for breakfast, which we are not, then you may feel differently. Would I stay here again? Absolutely Yes. Woiuld I recommend it? Absolutely Yes. Does anything else matter?
As close as you can get to the Mezquita
We were desperate for accommodation in Cordoba during the May Fair (La Feria) which is why we booked this hotel 25 & 26 May 2007. First, what a mistake to stay in Cordoba during La Feria. The main attractions opened at random when someone had woken up after partying all night to open the doors. This included the Mezquita, which had random opening hours during La Feria; even our hotel didn't know what hours it would be open. This really messed up our holiday. The city we were told was vibrant was dead. All the action took place at the fair grounds. The fair was nice for a couple of hours, but really just hundreds of food and drink stalls. Everyone dressed up beautifully in traditional dress, but we were there to see Cordoba, and everything in the old city was closed by 10pm. So unlike any other Spanish city, which only gets going at 10pm. This was due to La Feria - everyone was there. The Tabloa (Flamenco Show) we were recommended was also closed during La Feria. When you asked for anything, why things were closed, when would it be open etc the response was "La Feria" - ie totally out of our control. The information provided by the hotel was totally useless, and we discovered that nothing runs to schedule during La Feria. La Feria meant that all accommodation was booked up except the expensive. This meant we spent EU297 for 2 nights, 2 adults sharing, no breakfast. The hotel was clean but not worth the price. It was worth it for its location, but during La Feria the location meant nothing because nothing was open at night due to La Feria. The bedroom was comfortable enough but certainly not 4 star quality. At first we were given a room whose windows opened onto a tiny courtyard where you'd look right into your neighbours' windows. So we asked to change, and then overlooked the main courtyard - unfortunately filled with smokers, so our room filled with smoke. We were concerned that people would be sitting smoking and chatting in the main courtyard, but luckily the courtyard emptied around midnight. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel because at that moment we discovered the Mezquita was open and we wanted to see it, preferring to miss breakfast. But the breakfast looked great for EU11 pp. Parking cost EU17 for 24hrs. In retrospect I would not drive from city to city in Spain. The scenery in between is ugly - way too much development in Spain - and parking is expensive in the cities. Better to take a bus between the major cities and then hire a care to drive around Andalusia for a day to see the scenery. We stayed for much cheaper in other cities in Spain in lovelier hotels. Would I recommend it? If you don't care about your budget then yes, but don't expect 4 star quality even though they are rated as such.
excellent hotel
Not much to say, excellent hotel very well located no problems with the car they have a garage, nice Andalusian "patio" to have dinner or breakfast, since we're talking of a centuries old part of the town we can't ask for enormous rooms in a building with history. This is a 4,5 stars hotel and the place to stay at Cordoba.
Great location
This nice, modern hotel is directly acrioss from teh famnous Mezquita: our windows looked right acriss at the lovely Moorish exterior. Service was excellent, too. Only snag was that phones went down on the last day, which might not have been their fault. Recommended
Great Hotel
I just want to say that it's a lovely hotel in a lovely city. I totally recomend Hotel Conquistador!!!
