For the 1st time we rented a villa here for 2 weeks and were overwhelmed when we arrived.
It was huge! 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and very spacious en suites and 2 kid’s bedrooms with Disney and sea world themes. Plus another big bathroom, games room, 2 lounges with dining tables, kitchen area and an outdoor pool, spa, bbq, garden furniture and sun loungers!
All the outdoor area was covered by a mesh so no bugs could get in, which was good as there was loads of them! Just don't leave the gates open!
There were 4 of us (2 couples) and the villa was big enough to take time out from each other. The Glenbrook resort is set out of the main tourist area so we used a lot of local cabs.
We learnt that 99% of cab firms there r not very reliable so book for 15-30 mins before you want to leave, they will also take advantage if they are aware you have just recently arrived. Cabs cost around $40 (£20 ish) to Universal and International Drive (where most attractions, night life, and restaurants are) and around $60 (30 ish) for a return to Disney. These prices are very reasonable for the distance.
We were glad we decides not to drive over there as the roads and drivers made no sense at all to us! And be careful when you cross the roads too!
Everything is so cheap over there, so make the most of places that r dear over here, such as Planet Hollywood & TGIs and the shops!
We bought Orlando Flexi Tickets for £120 which get you into the main 5 parks for an unlimited time and use. They also do a Disney one. I strongly recommend them, they'll save you loads.
Watch out for the over use of air con, over there, although its hot outside, they make most indoor places freezing! Especially restaurants and the villa (which we couldn't adjust).
Try a dinner show, there are plenty there to choose from. They are something different and great fun and value for money, show, 3-5 course meals and unlimited beer, wine and coke for about £20!
My advice for this holiday is definitely need 2 weeks, at the least, and space out your park days, they are so tiring, I don't know how all the kids kept on going! If you are planning for clubs and bars do these after relaxing days, us 4 our in our early 20s and were in bed by 10 most nights! Sad I know, but it is such a busy and tiring holiday if you want to do it all!
People think of Florida as a very expensive holiday because of the prices to get there and stay there, but when u think about how cheap everything is when your there, you'd probably spend the same on a holiday to Spain.
My last thoughts are, "When can we return??".
