Tyr Graig Castle Reviews

10 / 10
May 2007, Mr K Garrison

We stayed at the Tyr Graig Castle during the May bank holiday and found the hotel fantastic! The location was superb at the top of a cliff; our room had a view overlooking the beach and wonderful views of the mountains and sea! There is nothing like waking up to a view... more

Worth the stay
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Tyr Graig...without a doubt this hotel just by its location and old charm sells itself but the experience is completed by the hospitality of the owners Jan and Kelly...they are truly lovely people who deserve much success in their future...their efforts to accomodate their guests is a big part of what makes this hotel a definate yes. We would recommend it to all the nice travellors out there that are looking for a place with great food, great ambience, awesome location and romance. Good luck Jan and Kelly who are the new owners since April 07. We will recommend this hotel every chance we get. Colin and Deborah Burley, from British Columbia, Canada

My wife and I stayed for a few days the latter end of October.the weather was very good to us ,we did not see any rain the four days of our stay,so that was a bonus for a start. We walked from the hotel down to the beach and along the prom quiet but very embracing .The hotel , what can we say ,the food was excellant and cooked to your own requirement ,the service was impeccable.the views from both the dining conservatory and from our hotel room was brilliant although we did not witness any sun rising or setting ,one could imagine what it would have been like from the view which we had.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff if you required anything ,the room was very cosy , tea making facilities was at hand ,television, and the beds were very comfortable.A;ll in all it was a very enjoyable few days break, will recommend to our friends, home from home.
We loved this place!
My wife and I stayed at the Ty'r Graig for 2 nights in September 2007 and absolutly loved the place and the current owners. The views of Cardigan Bay from the patio, the dinning room, the loung and our room were all spectaular! The owners were very personable and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. We highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we were ever going to be in the area. In fact, my wife and I have been discussing going back for 5 nights and making the Ty'r Graig our base while we do a series of day trips. Chicago, IL USA
beautiful jewel in the mountains
having heard good things about Ty'r Graig, we were excited to go for a mini-break, and we weren't disappointed. It is not often we find somewhere in the UK that we want to revisit, but the warm welcome and yummy food at ty'r graig will have us returning time after time. The location is fantastic, with amazing views; the dining conservatory overlooks the beach. The staff are great, and cannot do enough for you, we particularly liked the new manageress, who made an effort to know you by name, and take a genuine interest in you. The food is wholesome and traditional, we didn't eat anywhere else during our stay! Our room was cosy and cleaned daily-all in all a lovely stay.
Brillaint sunsets at the Tyr Graig Castle Hotel
This hotel is well worth a visit as I found out when myself and my husband stayed there for four days in september. The hotel has fantastic views over the bay and if you are lucky enough to see a sunset it is brilliant. The warm and friendly welcome we recieved from the owners Jannette and khalid was really nice and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. We had a room overlooking the bay which was very clean and the maid attended everyday. We enjoyed the food that we were served and I really enjoyed eating my breakfast overlooking the bay. We ate in the restaurant on an evening which has a romantic feel to it. Overall I would recommened this hotel. It was my visit to wales but it wont be my last thanks to the hospitality that we received from Jannette and Khalid and their lovely staff.
Little Welsh Gem Sums It Up
I stayed here for 2 weeks. Luckily the weather was great and combined with the high level of the hotel, i coulden't of asked for more. What struck me about this hotel is that from the moment i checked in, I got the imression that all the staff wanted me to have a pleaseant and enjoyable stay. Very polite, curteous and helpful. the food was tremendous and the waitering staff were ever so polite and well oiled in their approach. Everything seemed to go smoothly all the time whilst i was there as i ate most evenings in the restaurant. However there was one incident where i had to wait over an hour for my food for some unknowkn reason, but to my pleasant surprise, i was offered a bottle of wine as a gesture of appology which goes to show the level of commitment the staff at this hotel show to their customers. for me, this hotel is a welsh gem, a rare treasure. absolutely loved my stay, was just excellent all round.
The best hotel in Wales
This hotel as to be the best hotel in the whole of Wales. Your hotel room overlooks the Atlantic Ocean with miles and miles of amazing views. Even the cast and crew of the hit movie First Knight stayed here during filming.
loved the fantastic views
We have just spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel, the food was first class and the staff were very helpful all the time, nothing was too much trouble. The owners have not long taken over this hotel but they too are wonderful hosts, very much hands on with their guests. we loved our room and its fantastic views and its such a lovely part of wales we will definately be back and will most definately stay a this lovely hotel when we do. good luck for the future
Worth a visit
A bit nervous after some of the reviews, but this was a very nice place. The owners and staff were lovely and friendly. It seems that the new owners took over 10 weeks ago and have obviously had an impact given the previous reviews. Nice clean bedroom, good food and great location. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely Stay!, Recommed to all
My partner and I stayed in the Tyr Graig Castle during the bank holiday weekend and found the experience superb!! The Castle is under new management and I found the new owners very warm and the hospitality was excellent from all the staff, would recommend to anyone looking to stay in wales. Great Sea Views and a lovely cooked breakfast topped off my stay...will be returning in the future.
