I wondered what the brochure meant by "modular". If you can imagine an empty room, add a bathroom and loo from a caravan and a kitchenette from a tent and bingo! All nice, clean, and very modern. Not enough room for 3 girls but fine for a family - no privacy anywhere but the loo. Take cups etc if more than 2 in a suite - we only got 2 of everything even though there were 3 booked in. A double bed, a tiny single, and another single that pulled out from under the double. Left no floor space whatever. Staff very ignorant and seem to detest the English (but then it does seem that way in Geneva as a whole). Both receptionist and bar man refused to speak any English to us, luckily we can get by - but felt odd when overheard them speaking fluently later. Don't bother with the bar - had no vodka at all and the white wine was poured from the dregs of 3 different opened bottles. Be aware that the breakfast in the shopping centre opposite advertises breakfasts from 2.50chf, but they weigh your plate and it ended up very expensive! Better to buy bread etc from the supermarket. This hotel is a long way from Geneva town, but has a bus stop right outside that takes you to the lakeside. Best advice I would give to anyone going for the first time - Don't spend too much time in Geneva, but go on the train to Montreux instead. The people are friendlier, the views are magnificent, and it’s a real taste of Switzerland. Drink local beer - a vodka and lemonade worked out at £8.50 a glass rather than £2 for a half of lager. As this was our treat for giving up the fags not a good place to go as smoking still very en-vogue. Everyone smokes and there is no restriction on when or where. Overall, for 100chf a night each we couldn't complain - but wouldn't go to Geneva again never mind this hotel. Stick with further away from the French border if want the renowned Suisse hospitality - this is like being in Paris.
