Before I went on this holiday I looked at this website and was extremely concerned at the poor report given for this hotel.

However, I and the rest of my party of four, found the rooms basic but very comfortable, the public areas were very clean and gave a very homely atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and attentive to all our requirements. I agree the food was salty but certainly not unacceptable. This is how the Bavarians cook so one should accept the local way of cooking. I find areas of France use too much garlic for my taste but that is the way of French cooking and I accept and enjoy it. If you do not like the culinary methods of a country, either go self catering or stay in England.

I certainly would recommend Hotel Jagerhaus as a very friendly and pleasant stay and consider the comments I read about this hotel totally unfounded.

We have been going to the Jagerhaus hotel since 2004 with Shearings and we are just about to go on our 6th visit if that is not a recommendation I don’t know what is.

The location is excellent for travelling around this beautiful part of Bavaria not only on the coach but also under your own steam. Langaneau has good facilities. Bars, Restaurants, Transport including a train station, shops, and supermarkets a 10 mins walk away.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, the food is good and the people are friendly, Margaret is a wonderful hostess, maybe it was the holiday makers that were not friendly!

On our last visit in June fellow traveller said they could understand why we keep going back.

Langaneau, the Jagerhaus hotel and Bavaria is a place not to be missed.

Bearing in mind that this was a 9 day Package Holiday I was perfectly satisfied with the

Hotel. The room was clean and serviced on a daily basis. The food was basic but nevertheless quite acceptable.

The proprietor may not have been walking around with a smile on her face all day but I found her to be a pleasant and helpful lady.

My view was shared by the majority of my fellow travellers. All in all we enjoyed the holiday and would certainly not rate it as poor.

The driver was very good and the first hotel in this 9 day coach trip was good, but it all went down bank when we reached the Hotel Jagerhaus in Langaneau.

We were lucky to stop in the new section of the hotel we were told the bathrooms in the old part did not have any plugs, as the owner said they kept getting pinched.

However, the main problem was the quality of the food and the Hotel. The food was very poor, no fresh veg etc. The soup was the same apart from one night (it was impossible to tell the flavour) everything was loaded with salt and quite inedible. The service was very poor the tables were being cleared away as we sat.

The owners were very unfriendly, we were told Shearings had used this hotel for years, they obviously have not been back to check the standards recently.

All in all a very poor standard for this day and age we do not expect gourmet cooking but decent edible food and a smile to welcome you costs nothing. Shearings must pay washers to these people. No wonder the coach was half empty. If they don’t get their act together they will continue to lose business as their core clientele is declining.
