Beware! Don't go here!
from Louise1974
We paid a fortune to go half board here, the food wasn't very good, terrible if you are a vegetarian & you had to fight through very rude Germans & Spanish to get the gruel anyway! We ate out a couple of nights & it was VERY expensive, although in Arrecife it was a third of the price to eat out. The rooms weren't very clean & never got cleaned, we didn't get any fresh towels in 2 weeks & the bungalows were all set out for 3 people as thats all they were big enough for, yet they squashed 4 people in all of them. The worlds smallest beach is about 300m away but it wasn't good you would have to drive/walk the 5/6 km into playa blanca to get to a good one. If you paid a £100 for this you may have been happy but I would not ever return here as it was a rip off & disgusting
Love ittt

during our stay at the hotel we enjoyed it very much. the food was loverly (especially the sweetcorn) Although there wasnt much variety apart from bbq night WHICH WE LUVED. *Delicious*. The staff were friendly.. especially the bar staff. Underage?? giv em a wink, they'l giv u a drink. Exept one woman behind the reception. We accidently stood on her foot and she hated us for the rest of the holiday. !ZEE GERMANS! These were the only people in the hotel. apart from one english family and another group of french lads. The germans didnt lyk us but the conflict made the holiday quite amusing. In a whole a very enjoyable experience. Recomend it to any1 that Really nice atmosphere even tho u get a few evils (eyes) from the germans. and you are garenteed a tan. Ud be silly not to go. Have funnnnnnnn... p.s Dont 4get ur suncream & dnt trust the bannana boats... PAINFULL.
No English !!!!!

The bungalows we stayed in were ok but a little old fashioned Be warned the beds in the room are very hard and uncomfortable expect a bad back and little sleep on them ,the food was excellent good variety and well cooked and prepared (The breakfast however was awful ) not a good start to a long day!!!! the entertainment was only for the Germans and the Spanish not at all aimed at the English the hotel did not even have an English flag that says it all ! the staff were nice and friendly but as the only English people there it was slightly weird ....the nights were long as you have to make your own entertainment theres a good Irish bar just down the road five min walk you can smoke in there and have a chat to other English people which was nice apart from that if your happy spending time with just your other half and only a conversation with just them all week then good luck to you i would not recommend this holiday to anyone taking children they will have nothing to do unless they can speak German....and are happy to swim all day ...
relaxing

The hotel is clean a nd the staff a helpfull and friendly. The food is quite good but repetertive. While we were there the majority of the guests were German and Spanish therefore most of the entertainment was in german and spanish. All the childrens entertainers were German. The evening entertainment finished at 10 o clock. The holiday was restfull but if you want even a slightly lively holiday this hotel is not for you.
Relaxed and friendly
from MandR54
We booked an all inclusive package with Thomson, which was good value. The staff were friendly and relaxed and the facilities are certainly up to the 3* rating. UK guests were a significant minority - possibly an advantage! - with the largest group being German. There were also Spanish and Scandenavian guests. The food in the buffet style restaurant was well presented and with a generally good range, although the variety was a little limited by the end of the week. Salads were excellent, fish tended to be overcooked. The bungalows were satisifactorily equipped and comfortable enough. The layout of the site does not give any views of the sea, but the coast is a very short walk away. There is an excellent promenade all along the coast from the lighthouse west of Playa Blanca right to beyond the Rubicon Marina at the east end of the town.
Nice Staff
from SandraMidlands
Booked at the very last minute - day before - so not much time to check things out before-hand. We travelled independently and had arranged to collect the car from the airport. Booked online with Autoreisen but the queue at the airport was horrendous so we went to the company next door - Cicar and paid just a few extra euro's. I was a little bit disappointed when we arrived as the accommodation was in bungalows and a short distance away from the sea. So no sea view! The accommodation was in buildings consisting of four units with an inter-connecting door to the unit next door (presumably so that one family could share 2 bungalows). Each basic bungalow had a living room with kitchennette, a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom. The living room had a small sofa which I assume could be pulled out to make another bed. There was a small flat screen tv on the wall and you had to pay a deposit of 20 euro's for the remote control. However the only English channels were BBC World News and Eurosport. It would have been nice to have had a music channel. You couldn't really cook a meal in the kitchennette as there was just 2 rings and very limited cutlery and utensils but you could russell up a fry-up for breakfast and there was a toaster. There wasn't a kettle so you had to boil water in a saucepan. All very reminiscent of Greece a few years ago! I found out at the end of the holiday that you could hire other items like a microwave etc from the hotel. They should have information put in the room written in English as my welcome literature was in Spanish so I 'm afraid I haven't got a clue what it said. The beds were really hard and they had those horrible waterproof mattress protectors on which make a real noise and feel damp! We wanted extra pillows and these arrived a few seconds after requesting them. There was a couple in the bungalow next door with a couple of small children and you could hear them crying. However, I really disliked the fact that they smoked and I could smell it through the walls particularly when I got up in the morning. I probably should have asked for another room. You had your own patio area just outside your bungalow - it would have been nice if sunbeds could be provided so that you could sunbathe as it was much quieter around the bungalows than it was around the pool. I had a shower the first night and ran out of hot water before I rinsed the soap from my hair so it was impossible for my partner to then try to have a bath. However, we told reception and they sent a maintenance man to look at the situation. He came twice but eventually fixed things so there was plenty of hot water from then on. We booked on a self catering basis but the majority of people seemed to be booked on an all inclusive basis. Eating out is not cheap and the service was quite poor at a lot of the places we ate, so it may be better value to book on a half board basis when visiting Lanzarote. There was entertainment in the hotel but I never heard anything in English and it didn't look particularly well supported by the other nationalities which were mainly German. The location of these apartments mean that you don't necessarily need a car although it would be really useful. It is about a 10 minute walk to the coast and you can walk some distance in either direction. The weather was really good whilst we were there - not too hot or windy. Don't forget when going home that you need to go to Terminal 1 - trust us as we ended up at Terminal 2! Also, don't forget that you can't take any liquids through security. Like idiots we forgot and went through with a bottle of brandy and a bottle of water - both were obviously confiscated . . .
Good location for an all inclusive
from wandererYorkshire
This hotel has a pretty good location for an inclusive in my experience. It's just round the corner from the main stretch of beach walk towards Playa Blanca resort and a very nice walk it is. The hotel setting is very nice with a good pool area and what seemed to plenty of sunbeds (although it was off season so not busy). The all inclusive drinks were self service, unless you were having spirits. This was quite useful, particulary at the pool side bar. The food was nicely cooked and fresh, but very repetetive and quite a limited choice. The bungalows were nicely situated but once in, were quite basic and not that high standard. The hotel information claims to change bedding and towels twice weekly, but this was not the case. Off season the guests were mainly Scandinavian and Spanish, which was reflected in the entertainment. The animation team made no effort to include English guests and never spoke a word to us all week. The shows were very amateur and rarely interpreted into English. The best show was the one evening the hotel brought a magic act in, which was very entertaining. We had a pleasant week, mainly due to the lovely weather and I wouldn't be in a rush to book to go here again.
All inclusive - the way to go
from Weggel
We went for a week and booked with Thompsons. We definitely enjoyed all inclusive - local wine and beer on tap and local spirits from the bar. The food was buffet and there were plenty of healthy salads as well as cooked meat and vegetables. The bungalows were private and quite simple. Each had it's own little patio which was out of the wind. I didn't like the fact that there was no hair dryer or pool towels supplied - ok if you know to take your own. We had no tea making facilities and had to use a saucepan but that worked ok. After our initial ration of 2 minute soap bars we weren't given any more and there was no shampoo supplied. Towels and sheets were only changed twice a week which was fine by me and 2 days we had no room clean but that didn't bother us either. It was too cold when I was there to actually go swimming but the pool area was lovely. They had a spa but it was cold - I would have liked a hot tub! Location was fine too - not in the centre near the shopping area but close enough to either walk to the Rubicon Marina or to the lighthouse or climb the volcano if you like some exercise. (which we did) As one previous reviewer said the entertainment was mostly in German which we didn't like but I accept the miming as we weren't paying enough for top talent. The Germans outnumbered English speakers when we were there but we still found someone to talk to if we wanted to. Saturday night they had a singer who sang mostly English songs and we were able to dance which was great. Staff were very pleasant. All in all we really enoyed our holiday.
Had a wonderful time!
from Timanfaya
Well what can we say? First of all the Lanzusur Club is an extremely pleasant environment, clean and spacious and extremely relaxing. We had a truly wonderful chilled out time by the pool and found the staff helpful and the cleanliness spot on. ACCOMODATION - You get your own little Bungalow (and no its not like a Butlins chalet - in fact they are self contained with a living room, large bedroom and spacious bathroom and even comes with a little kitchen should you feel the need to cook for yourself!) Our Bungalow was very clean and in a one week stay ours was seen to on five of those days ,with our towels changed three times. Can't say fairer than that eh? However other people staying there had a different experience, theirs were only changed once! There is a flat screen television but if you are one of those who expects to fly across the lands and sea and be presented with everything in English you will be disappointed as the only English Channels were Euro Sport and a Sky News (when the weather was good). ENTERTAINMENT - fantastic if you are German or like us, people who found Germans watching the dire Entertainment funny! So bad was the evening entertainment we were compelled to watch all the 'Animation' Teams shows!!!! With all inclusive drinks it was hysterical! BUT there were also visiting entertainers who were excellent - well the Spanish Dancers were anyways! There is only a fifteen minute walk to the sea front to a selection of bars by the marina, Spanish bars, Irish Bars, English Sports Bars and of course Karaoke!!!!! During the day they had entertainment programs that consisted of darts, archery, volleyball and the likes but you had to be listening carefully as again everything was in German! They did speak some English. Also they seemed to have an unnatural fetish for the 'Sexy' Song that they played at EVERY event they promoted! Also watch the aerobice, nuff said. You can also do any of the events when you want to. We went and hired the crazy golf clubs from reception and were well impressed with the sports facilities there. Gym was good and they also have football pitches, volleyball courts, french boules and archery. In the Winter months ,however, children are not allowed to join the kids club . Even though we do not have children, we thought this was something that Thomson should make famillies be aware of as there were several famillies upset by this. Reason being the English Reps are only there high season. FOOD AND DRINK - absolutely no complaints. Salads were amazing as were the desserts. Every meal time there is s wide selection of foods hot and cold, for all nationalities and they also do an outside Canarian BBQ which was most enjoyable. Food was fresh and well prepared and plenitful. You can also help yourself to wine, beer and soft drinks. Was very impressed for such a cheap deal. Also the Kitchen Satff were lovely. POOLS - the one to the right hand side of the main reception is the warmest and does get heated further if you go and ask reception! However to go in the jacuzzi you must be made of lead! We went on a late deal for a chilled out week, made the most of what was there and had a brilliant time together. If you go please say hola to the pussy cat that appears every now and then!
Relaxing holiday
from JennyM9275
I went to Lanzasur Club for a week with my mother just to relax and get some sun and we were both really pleased. The accommodation is in little bungalows and was pretty basic but perfectly adequate for what we needed (good sized rooms, clean bathroom, fridge, tv and bench/loungers outside). We were all inclusive for the week and on the whole the food was nice, with a pretty good choice of dishes and plenty of fresh salads etc. Drinks were also included which was great. The staff were all friendly and the pool was lovely too. The only real let down was the entertainment which most nights was from the animation team and was them miming to a German soundtrack of pop stars/musicals so not very entertaining really! All in all a good choice for a relaxing holiday.
We have just returned from a really nice relaxing week at this hotel. The bungalows were nice. The issue with the shower only lasting a short time is true, we had to do showering in 2 sittings with an hours gap inbetween. The beds did have plastic sheeting on them, but... more
