We have just returned from a really nice relaxing week at this hotel.
The bungalows were nice. The issue with the shower only lasting a short time is true, we had to do showering in 2 sittings with an hours gap inbetween. The beds did have plastic sheeting on them, but we removed them straight away and we never saw them again.
The restaurant was clean and well stocked with hot varied meals which our whole family enjoyed (children aged 7yrs & 9yrs).
The hotel is mainly German, with the entertainment very much geered towards them. However, they were very friendly and never caused us any issues whatsoever.
Our children spent 6hrs a day in the heated pool.
Staff at this hotel are lovely and so helpful, they even delivered a bottle of Champagne to our bungalow for my husbands Birthday! We still havent worked out how they knew, but it was a lovely touch.
The walk to Playa Blanca is a lovely stroll along a new promenade, which for us was an absolute pleasure. Took all of 10mins to get into the centre!!!
To be honest we had a very nice stay at Lanzazur Club and would return with family.
Just as a footnote - the facilities for the disabled were second to none.
All in all - yes, the hotel isnt 5 star but it certainly is a lovely stay and in a great location. We wanted to get straight back on the next flight and go back.!! Were amazed to read some of the bad reviews to be honest. Judge it for yourselves.

On the surface, when you arrive, the vista of the pool area from the reception is stunning. We went all inclusive, which in the end, just encourages gluttony, and there are plenty of extremely overweight guests that take advantage of the 'eat as much as you like' buffet. The food is bland and fattening, there are too many dishes of low quality food, they should reduce the number and concentrate on the quality and taste, it's a case of 'don't mind the quality, feel the width' (of your waste-line). They made a paella with all the correct ingredients but couldn't get the paella taste, it was like having yellow rice with unseasoned meat in it, if they can't get paella right, what hope is there?
The advertisements lead you to believe they are 'Club Bungalows' but nothing could be further from the truth. I have always been in hotels and imagined, from the advertising which sometimes purports it to be 4*, a small self contained detached bungalow (naive I know). In fact the 'bungalows' are one quarter of a very shoddy and poorly designed chalet, two at the back and two at the front. Your part of this chalet has connecting doors from the kitchen living area (where the TV is) to next door's kitchen living area. There are two doors, that can only be opened from each respective chalet but ensure that the slightest noise can be heard as if the neighbours are in your chalet, I am not exaggerating this, there is absolutely no privacy. Our neighbours were Spanish and couldn't understand our conversations but smoked heavily and as I was sitting watching TV, their heavy smokey stink would come under the door and choke me, disgusting.
The matresses are covered with thick rubber under-sheets which make a tremendous banging noise as you turn over. I presume that the 'all inclusive' drinking leads to accidents in the night, thus the rubber sheets on every bed. The beds have six legs and mine 'walked' very time I moved.
The all inclusive drinks are limited to the cheap Spanish spirits, one lager, and out of the bottle sangria. Real spirits, cocktails and various lagers are all extra. There is a bar by the pool which has cakes, crisps and peanuts but no ice-cream for the kiddies.
The windows are covered with long curtains which cannot be opened as all ground level views lead to the toilet and you can't risk being seen from the outside. The shower is fed from an electric boiler, one for each quarter, it lasted 3 minutes before going cold. I discovered that it only holds 15 litres and needs to be left for 20 minutes before the next shower, very inconvenient, worrying about whether you can get all the soap off before it goes cold is not something you should be thinking about in the 21st Century.
We had hired a car but if you don't intend to, this complex is well away from Playa Blanca, not within walking distance in the heat. The entertainment is sometimes toe curlingly poor, mostly in German by Germans who are trying their best with limited resources and talent. The complex is mainly geared for Alltours, a German company, I asked at reception about the advertised activities but did not receive a helpful reply because it is Alltours that arrange them within the complex.
There is one computer in reception for internet, it is an extortionate 1 Euro for 10 minutes. There is a note next to it stating they are testing WiFi which would be available 'some days'. My WiFi smart phone logged on all the time but never connected to the web. In Playa Blanca there is a complex along the front called Papagaya (you can't miss it), the Wax Bar has free Wifi 54 Mb, I used it with Fring (Android) to phone home over the internet for 1 cent per minute, thanks Wax Bar.
On the up-side, there were many disabled people at the complex, as it has all the facilities for disabled and wheelchair bound holidaymakers, including a lift for the pool.
One week was more than enough for us, we won't be going back.

good rooms, good food, but thats as far as i will go with the good.hotel populated by 99%german.we should have been advised on this when booking.its right what they say about towels, if you dont get up to put them out you dont get a sunbed, and when you do you either get abuse from the germans because you have nicked their spot or you get shouted at by the management and told to take them away. someone please explain, how can they tell we are english from the otherside of pool?there were otherpeople putting towels out and they never got shouted at!my son loves to join the kids club so i took him along on our second morning explaining to him he may not beable to join as he was probably the only english child there, but they get split into 2 groups, the germans and the others, which left 3 in brads group, him and 2 spanish girls, the girl that took them couldnt put 2words of english together, needs to say he didnt go often.i wa sbeginning to think we had wasted over £2300,after all when you go all inclusive you go mainly for the kids clubs, activities at pool, entertainment fun, ther was none of this.there was no water aerobics, no waterpolo etc and what games there were the annimation team neede winding up!never mind the guests!luckily we met a family from england on our third day and they saved our holiday!thanks guys!we livened the place up somewhat!dont stay for evening enterteinment unless you want to fall asleep which i did one night before our pals arrived.the germans thought entertainment was ace, so what does that say, they were all in bed for 10.30, which is the time it finished.oh and if you get in there way beware, i had salad with beetroot thrown allover me one night just because i was in a womans way.so dont do it, dont book it, dont waste your money.find another hotel, read other reviews because i bet im not the only one to write a review on this hotel in the last few weeks.

As we arrived first impression was we'd made a good choice of accommodation.
The staff are friendly, the bungalows clean and comfortable.
The food the usual format for All Inclusive i.e.: cereal, a cooked breakfast selection, or continental, juice tea coffee etc. For lunch and evening, meat, fish, pasta salads etc.
If you are used to getting snacks too from the pool bar you may be disappointed. We only found out mid-week that burgers or hotdogs were available in the afternoon (its not advertised that this service is available).
Now for the if's: please note there is no rep service at Club Lanzasur. We had a bad flight out (you may have seen it on the news or on internet) but we didn’t even see a rep the next day, in fact not all week.
Our son was quite poorly while we were there. But as there was no rep available to assist (and no answer on the 24hr number we'd been given) we had to manage ourselves. In my opinion it is ESSENTIAL when travelling with children that there is at least a part-time rep service.
The brochure gives the impression that there is plenty for children to do. Not so.
The pools are lovely and there is a nice play area for young children and trikes etc for the younger ones. our 9 yr old who is a very sociable child was pretty much on his own.
As this is a mainly German hotel (there were 9 of us English while we were there) He didn’t make any friends whilst we were there-which is VERY unusual, Although, he did meet a Dutch family who left mid-week.
In the brochure it says heated swimming pools, well you couldn’t tell, as it is extremely windy there, maybe that didn’t help.
The entertainment is very German orientated, if your thing is people dressed up as OAPs or putting on silly wigs and clothes you'll be in heaven.
Please note: the pickup time in the Thompson folder in reception for the Sunday Manchester flight is wrong, we had a 10.30 am pickup but the book says 12.00!

this is a nice hotel. peaceful and clean accomadation, pools are good although the entertainment was feeble. but the food!!!! if you're there for more than 3 or 4 days you'llfind yourself looking at the same thing presented in different ways for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is boring too!!! no chance for vegetarians. There was even a brussel sprout salad!!!
