Peristil Hotel

We decided at the last minute to spend a week in Croatia and wanted to spend the first few nights in Split. Other hotels were fully booked but I am very glad that the Hotel Peristil had a room available. The hotel is not difficult to find once you know that the "Peristil" where it is located refers to the entire square and not just the one side of the square that is labelled with this name. I recently stayed there in june. Not only was it a pleasant experience, once we got there in the square!, we had a 50% saving due to paying cash! What a great way to finsh a 3 day stay!!

The Tripadvisor was where we heard about the Peristil as it wasn't in any of the guide books having only been re-opened in the last two years. It's staff are just wonderful and completely conmmitted to giving a fantastic service, with great warmth and humour. We had a room with a knock-out view of one of the palace squares, the cathedral and Peristyle, and in the distance the sea. The Hotel Peristil has to be in the best location in Split. It's a five-minute walk from the ferry and bus terminals, and is actually part of the old walls of Diocletian's Palace. Right outside the door is the Peristyle, a great square for people watching and relaxing. There were lots of historical attractions right outside the hotel, and the big daily market was also very close.
